If you're going for an i7, then you'll have to use DDR3 Ram, I think. Not sure if a 1Gb graphics card is better value for money than 512 Mb (the latter are not quite so 'up-to-date' so are often a lot cheaper). Windows 7 64-bit is a must. I've got an Asus M5Q Pro MoBo with an Intel Quad-processor - not the very best, but quite adequate for me. I guess, if you're going for jets+FPS+Traffic+Mega-Airports then you'll need something better. Good luck! Cheers - Dai.

How's about Best ATWCIII Screen-Shot? I know that limits the contestants - and might, therefore, appear unfair - but it would reflect the efforts of those who did contribute to the Challenge... Cheers - Dai.

Well done, Bri' - you've struck a nice balance between the complexities and features of the pacckage and your own personal experience. And I think your score is right on the nose - the screenshots prove that, too! Thanks for sharing! Cheers Dai. -
Nice shots, Marcus - I'm impressed by DCS's latest offering - great write up in this month's PC-Pilot. Thanks for sharing, mate. BTW, I guess there's not too much snow at the Black Sea? Cheers - Dai.

Aaarrgghh! He's back..... Don't forget the snowy pictures, Marcus! Cheers - Dai.

Can't wait for... ... !! Cheers - Dai.

Looks like a good texture set to start on, Ray. I get really frantic, sometimes, when you have to match up the lettering on separate textures (you know, get the letters to line up?!?) BTW, Is there an alpha channel on this texture? If there is, you may have to put an equivalent set of lettering, on the alpha, to get the surface reflection looking O.K. Can be tricky, but it's worth the effort... Cheers - Dai.

For the second morning in a row, I was shaken out of my dreams of warmer climes by Sam. Smell that breakfast? C'mon, Doc! The ladies of Happy Valley had prepared us a piping hot, 'Full Newfoundland Platter' - even though it was only 4.30 a.m! Georges favoured coffee as Sam and I sipped our mugs of steaming tea. 'Ere - look at the flight plan If we get to the Greenland coast at sunrise, we catch the - mmm - glacé? 'Ow you say - glass? And miss the mist... Still not awake enough to catch the meaning of this, I was about to ask what cherries had to do with it when, pointing to the canteen cloc

Just keep heading towards the Semitak Island VOR, Doc. I'll shout out when I can see the wave tops... Sam, the eternal bl**dy optimist! We'd descended from our cruising height of 6000 feet towards the mirk that was now engulfing us at 2000. The ILS at Narsarsuaq was inoperative and the only way in was to dodge the icebergs going up Eriksfjord. The instructions were simple enough - cross over the Semitak VOR at magnetic 78 and take the middle fjord, when you see the land. Easy! No sign yet, Doc - gently does it! Of course, we didn't have to be here - and we wouldn't, if it hadn't been for M

I've been getting deeper into Morse code as my flight planning develops, but I've a ways to go. As Morse is a technology that's 140 years old, does it still have a place today? Apparently Yes! Here's am interesting snip from a TV show... http://www.myspace.com/video/vid/2025791097 Love the shades! Cheers - Dai.

Give 'em a new toy, John, and they're going to play with it, I'm afraid. But, as these lasers have a pre-determined frequency, can't the cockpit glass be designed to minimise their effect? Just a thought... Cheers - Dai.

I guess you have a marginally diferent sense of humor to me, Andrew - but now I know what an internet meme is - thanks. Cheers - Dai.

That's tremendously real looking, Jan - BTW, where was the ball in screenshot 2?!? Cheers - Dai.

Well done, Marcellus - third time lucky, eh? Interesting storyline - not had a magicienne (?) in the ATWC before! Oh, and there was me thinking that the Queen Mary had three funnels! Thanks for sharing... I'm currently partying , with Sam, in Montreal - so I'm not lurking in Saint-Pierre, yet, but I should be there soon. Cheers - Dai.

First off - sorry I haven't posted the answer - busy with "homework"!! And - Yes - John, you were right! It is the autogyro as designed and built by Juan de la Cuerva. This magical machine appears in Alfred Hitchcock's 1935 film "The 39 Steps" - I found an old video-tape version and was tickled to find that the autogyro had been included. Some film buffs say that this is the 'secret weapon' that the spies are trying to smuggle out of the country. Now, I've read the book several times and Buchan doesn't disclose this particular detail... So - Well Done, John - and thanks for your interest, g

You had me guessing there, Andrew - 2 aircraft, what's this?!? But it worked - well done, mate! Nice to see Sharon - again... Cheers - Dai. -
We're not the only ones that aren't impressed by this offering from FCS. See here Personally, I'm really disappointed - for 2 reasons: 1. I'd hoped that FCS would come up with something to rectify their questionable judgement on the Lancaster release, and 2. The Sunderland, next to the Lanc, is my favourite AC. Still, as one guy said in Predator 2 - Sh*t happens... Cheers - Dai.
