Ha, ha, Well that is that sorted then, does the private pilot license come with the glasses? No need for lessons looking at that. Mike

Thank you all and a happy birthday to Geoff be it with a cold. My senior stewardess has done me proud and bought me a set of Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals so that should be fun learning to use those. Onwards and upwards. Mike -

Back in the day when I was an engineer on the tools we were installing a new fire alarm system across a lot of Heathrow Airport. Everything came to a stand still when Concorde was ready to take off. I managed to blag a quick tour one day, it had just arrived and a couple of us were working in the arrival lounge, a steward spotted us and asked if we would like a look inside which we jumped at. A lot smaller than I imagined but still a great way to travel. They were the days, cannot imagine something like this happening now with security as it is. Mike

Trackball at work as I sit behind a desk all day and a mouse at home. I would probably go for a Trackball at home but my PC is for general use not just flying and the "senior stewardess" prefers a mouse. Mike

Great review and what looks to be a very impressive plane. The maintenance section looks so detailed, I will need an hour before I take off. Mike -

Hi John, Being a rookie pilot/simmer my comments will probably not help you decide but all I can say is I have owned a Saitek Pro Flight Yoke and throttle quadrant for 4 months and it works very well for me. I have more buttons than I need at my level of experience and they all programmed first time and very simply via FSX Steam. I bought the Pro Flight Stand to bolt it all on to and it is a great bit of kit, I am hoping to add the Pro Flight Cessna Pedals and trim wheel next month. As I say I have not had it long enough to break it i.e. 4 months but as things stand so far so g

Thanks for the offer Kevin but I have ordered and paid for the book from Amazon so a little late now. Good luck with the move, we are in the same boat and should be in our new home before Christmas. Mike

Thanks Richard, That is where I spotted it, I read the mag and had a look at the demo on the disk and it got me wondering what the rest of you thought about it. Mike

Hi all, I was wondering if any of you use or have used FS Flying School? It looks appealing to me being new to flight simming and flying in general. I feel I have outgrown the lessons in FSX, and to be honest some of them are unrealistic so I was wondering if something like this would be my next step to becoming a competent pilot? Mike

Are shows like this worth a visit by a newbie like me or are they full of peeps that all fly like experts? Plus are there any deals to be had on gear or is it all the same as shop prices? Mike
