  1. I had a walk around this excellent freeware scenery from The Airfield Construction Group today...This is the FS9 version but they also do it for FSX:- It was a very pleasant stroll around and I look forward to some flying here...Thanks for looking
  2. Thanks for all the comments Gents
  3. Having just bought this beautiful little airport, in the UK2000 Xtreme series, I thought I would take a few screenshots. A picture says a thousand words so I will let them speak for themselves:- This is FS9 and the frame rates here are very high...Thanks for looking
  4. I found it interesting to compare the Google colour shots taken this year in 2011, with the B&W ones taken in 1960:- The three large buildings in the B&W shot can be clearly seen in the colour shot of today. The 208 AlTent two clusters of three can be seen at top left with some parked Hunters to their right. The same piece of ground can be clearly seen in the colour shot on the joint of the edge of the tarmac to the dirt ground. Of couse the main changes to the airport are on the other side of the runway where there was nothing at all in my time...Now it has the main airport t
  5. I enjoyed my first flight in this lovely model by George Diemer of Marlborough, Massachusetts...Here is a short (3mins 25secs) video:- The video is best viewed in HD 1080 and Full Screen Mode. Thanks for looking
  6. Here are six more:- Thanks for looking
  7. Sorry Joe, We crossed there but you obviously see what I mean
  8. I seem to remember that driving past Popham on the main road you see a line about as long as that...The road runs parallel to it Joe...Have a look at this post of mine with the same video:- http://realenvironmentxtreme.com/forum/index.php?topic=15690.0 Note the Icon at bottom right.
  9. Joe...Your site is now using the wrong embed codes for YouTube videos again...No "Full Screen Mode" icon in the bottom right corner. On other sites I can fix this by using the "url" tags but now on this site they get changed to "media" tags and they prevent the proper YouTube player from appearing. It is since your most recent change of software and this is the only place (where I post) that it happens.
  10. I enjoyed my first flight in this model by Keith Paine:- I look forward to flying it some more The video is best viewed in HD 750 or 1080.
  11. Thanks for the comments Joe and Kieran...I'm pleased with how it is going...I've called the extension to the North West, "Turf Field"...It is supposed to be a place where rich men buy a house and hangar to stable their aeroplane (A bit like "Diamond Point")...Lots more to do on it but Traffic is working already and just needs expanding
  12. Just flying around and checking my recent work:- The Traffic is all present because I have only programmed four of the days of the week so far and today is not one of them...When I have finished programming then most of them will be away from base at any one time. Thanks for looking
  13. Thanks Joe and Keiron, I've been doing a bit more today:- The staff have been moaning about the parking for years!
  14. I've started working to improve my base...Here are a few general scenes that incorporate changes:- Most of these shots were taken just after dawn in todays real weather. A couple of military additions. Another view with the light behind me. An improved Control Tower and... Fire Station with Fire Engines. A Comms Mast. Something is new here, but very small in the distance! ...A bit closer... and the view back from the hill. Echo snuck into this one! Later on... ...at Dusk. Thanks for looking
  15. Yes the panel is accurate apart from an RMI on the right lower part (there were no navaids in the FGA9). We navigated with strip map on lap and that is what that EFB sitting on my right knee is simulating. There was also no autopilot in the real aircraft but I am very grateful for the clever military looking AP provided by Dave Garwood in the model...It eases the burden on long legs at 40,000 feet
  16. Yes Joe, I have corrected all the 208 Squadron hunters to have the livery as it actually was and all twelve have the pilot's names... (I can not gaurantee that all the pilots names are the correct ones for that aircraft but four are exact and one has his name on the wrong one). The only general changes I had to make to Dave Garwoods paint was the Blue nosewheel door with yellow letter and the fin letter also yellow and slightly smaller, instead of white.
  17. Although 208 Squadron visited Rhodesia with Venoms, I thought I would continue my circumnavigation travelling South... The outer tanks are back on now as I continue on South to Rhodesia. Rather sad to leave Nairobi. In the climb to 40,000 feet...The big mountain on the map to my left is Kilimanjaro. This smaller volcano on my left is Meru. That water behind me is the Southern end of Lake Tanganyika. Flying over Salisbury (now Harari). This used to be called New Sarum airport but it is now Harari and it does not seem to have been developed in "Africa 1960". I have moved
  18. Thanks Joe, Yes, I like it too...Even I was impressed by the half loop in Kilimanjaro's saddle! Hey, I really like that "Stars" emoticon!!
  19. This second sortie sees me in the Rift Valley, visiting Lakes Magadi and Natron, Ol Doinyo Lengai (Mountain of God), Olduvai Gorge, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara and the two peaks and saddle of Kilimanjaro, Kibo 19340 feet and Mawenzi 16896 feet. If you have a slowish Broadband which causes buffering pauses, click the Pause icon in the bottom left corner, then click the resolution up to 1080p...Now WAIT as the pink band moves from left to right, till it gets about halfway across. Now click that same Pause icon to start it running again and finally click the Full Screen icon at bottom right...I
  20. Thank you Brian...Glad you enjoyed it...I will be making another video in the Rift Valley, further South around the Ngorongoro Crater and beyond to Lake Manyara. When I last went down there for real in 1959, I found a lot of Elephants. I was in a Venom on that occasion and the big fellas were not too keen on my aeroplane and they stomped around a bit. So I sheered off and left them to their grazing. Well I guess it is to much to hope for Elephants in FS9 but you could have some in FSX
  21. I found a way to add or remove the outer drop tanks on Echo with a single desktop click before starting FS9...This is very handy, now that I'm down in Nairobi enroute Round the World, as I want to pause here for a while and fly some sorties from 1960. This first one sees me in the Rift Valley visiting Suswa, Hell's Gate, Ol Longonot and lakes Magadi and Natron. Returning to Nairobi over the Ngong hills. Tomorrow, I will visit favourites further South in the Rift Valley. Here is today's flight in real weather, which did produce a bit of cloud near Longonot:- If you have a slowish Broa
  22. Hi Rick, Echo was unserviceable that day so I just took a serviceable aircraft XE544 "Lima"...The previous day when we did the same sortie but found Kilimanjaro was covered in cloud, I flew XF421 "Hotel". I flew "Echo" as much as possible when it was serviceable but I did fly ALL the twelve FGA9s that the squadron had. One day I had to let the Boss have "Echo" to fly from Khormaksar, Aden back to Nairobi, Kenya...I flew the Boss' aeroplane XE618 "Delta" on that flight (Delta had a bit of a snag and it was important that the Boss got home that day). Rick here is the only shot we got from the
  23. Thank you John and Needles, Yes it is FlyTampa's legacy software...There may be a more modern one for FSX This old one is very impressive in FS9...Incredible Terminal Buildings. They even have Palm Trees inside them!
