  1. Thank you very much Joe, for taking the time to look at it all...Not too many people will do that! And thank you for your kind remarks. BTW I found a new App for the iPad today and it is called "Cabinet"...You can use it to read and annotate PDF files and it only cost £!.99...I have imported my PDF file and viewed it and it works well. Really the only difference between its presentation and the full Keynote one is that you can't run it as a slide show and there are no Transition effects between slides.
  2. Joe...I don't unzip in iPad...I just unzip the download in my PC into my documents and then use iTunes to put the PDF file into the Library...Synching with iPad will then put the PDF file into the PDF section of iBook app (just sideswipe the Bookshelves from right to left and that puts you into Bookshelves for PDF files...very handy for the various PDF Manuals that you get in FlightSim. If you go the Keynote route (an excellent App) then my download, mentioned above, has instruction files in it to tell you exactly how to import the Keynote file from your PC My Documents into iTunes and then f
  3. Well you don't need Keynote to see that PDF file, you can load any PDF file into the iBook app. If you do buy Keynote then I have a different download for you which gives my Keynote presentation of the same file...You then get all the transition effects and it will run as a slide show. This is the download for iPad + Keynote:- http://www.petermcle...or_the_iPad.zip
  4. A while ago I published a Keynote file "208 Squadron in Kenya for the iPad"...However, that needed an iPad and an App called Keynote to run. Here is a PDF version that can be viewed on a PC and also on an iPad in the built in iBooks app...It has over 170 pictures (A few more than my original PowerPoint presentation) and the download is 42 mbs:- http://www.petermcleland.com/dl/208_Squadron_in_Kenya_PDF.zip I hope some people will be entertained by it...There are no transition effects or music but the picture quality is good
  5. Just got this from a friend in NZ It was taken at Ardmore and the Mosquito is being towed to the paint shop...Expected to fly in September
  6. Continuing on to Port Bailey:- The moment of unstick on take-off from Port Williams...Still with some reflection in the water. Turning onto course for Port Bailey. This time the track lies over small mountains... ...and I'll go round them as necessary. Map reading is a bit strange in FLIGHT's map but I also use my iPad map for trying not to lose count of the watery inlets. Sometimes I just need to weave a bit to avoid climbing. Here is the touchdown at Port Bailey, landing into wind... ...which means the long downwind taxy back in my own spray. Here is one of those p
  7. On with my tour of Kodiak Island...Port Williams is next:- On the take-off run at Kitoi Bay. It was a bit fiddly to get this view of the lift off. Settled in the climb... ...and on course. Some nice scenery on the way and... ...my usual shot of sparkling water! Touching down at Port Williams and... ...taxying in...The Fuel icon has shown that I have arrived. Settled on the beach and... ...I thought I would climb up for the view. While taking this second view I noticed this structure at bottom right in the picture... ...so I taxied round and parked in it! Th
  8. This is what my iPad looks like with TouchPilot working:- It works better with the Carbon Cub as there are more things that can be allocated...I have also set it up for FS9 (it works with any Flight Simulator that uses a Joystick as it is seen as an extra joystick with many buttons).
  9. Well I got out of Lilly Lake with a fair bit of water to spare...I think the 14 knots of wind helped! Enroute now towards Kitoi Bay...I'm flying the straight line today and using the FLIGHT map to find the destination. I cruise at 90% power and I have found it easier to set with my Touch Pilot on iPad rather than the wheel on my joystick. To finely adjust the elevator trim, I place the mouse pointer on the stick button and use the mouse wheel...I find from practice that with nearly full fuel, 37% Nose Down gives level flight then as the weight gets down a bit, 38%. Here I am coming
  10. Thanks Joe and Aeromax, Yes Joe...I could use the Icon all over Alaska really and in real life, seaplanes are extremely popular here. I looked at the Google map at Lilly Lake and zoomed in...I counted at least 13 seaplanes beached around the lake. However, I do also like the Carbon Cub and it has navigation instruments so I intend to use the Cub to visit airfields,
  11. Drat!...I can't move it now as I have linked to it elsewhere...Sorry for the error
  12. I found by looking at the map that FLIGHT provides 12 SPBs and 8 Airfields on Kodiak Island, so I decided to visit all the SPBs with my Icon and the Airfields with the Cub. I based the Icon here at Trident Basin, the only SPB which has Fuel. This is the nearest SPB and it is very close in Kodiak city...It is called Lake Lilly and beyond the end of the lake you can see Kodiak Muni Airport. Touching down on Lilly Lake and hoping I can get out again tomorrow. Plenty of room to stop and today the lake is conveniently into wind. I've found a good firm spot off the beach to... ...p
  13. While you can see these pictures in full daylight, they look much better if you at least pull the curtains...They look even better in a darkened room. Airborne out of King Salmon and... ...bound for Kodiak. The VOR at Kodiak is selected but no signal yet. There is cloud but I intend to stay below it by weaving to avoid terrain. Here is the map with the aircraft at top left and the destination on the right edge. The weather is overcast... ...but with a reasonable base. Those "V"s ahead look like a good path to follow. Well I weaved through there with ease and now up ahead ther
  14. I updated my Aerosoft AES today and also downloaded some British Airways vehicle textures...Here are some shots I took at Heathrow:- Here the FollowMe vehicle has just met us. And from the cockpit. We are led to Stand 192 and the BA steps are approaching. The door is open and the BA Bus is waiting. The catering vehicles do not seem to have changed but they work well. There seems to be a new chap to guide the Pax onto the bus. The vehicular traffic is busy here and various vehicles whiz past (Never heard of that airline!). A BMI is just leaving from the next stand...
  15. Well McLeland Field in FS9 has expanded with an adjoining grass airport and rich man's estate of homes...I will get back there eventually but this Alaskan tour in FLIGHT is liable to take some time
  16. Continuing my Alaskan cruise in MS FLIGHT:- Tom Madsen airport in the Aleutians. Enroute to Cold Bay. On finals at Cold Bay. Taxying in. Parked at Cold Bay. Later at Cold Bay as... ...dusk approaches. I think I will move on again... ...tomorrow. Away again at first light... ...and bound for King Salmon. I had to get fuel first but here I am airborne again for a practice ILS... ...on runway 12... ...at King Salmon. Parked up here... ...for the night. Thanks for looking
  17. Here are the eight cores before starting FLIGHT... ...and here they are with FLIGHT running. FLIGHT certainly appears to make the most of all it can get...Perhaps that is why it is so smooth
  18. I tried to get a shot in MS FLIGHT of Mount McKinley from the same direction as this well known picture was taken. I was not very successful as I found it difficult to replicate the exact direction and elevation that the real shot was taken...But here are the three shots that I did take on my run in:- McKinley is the Highest one to the left of centre. The highest part is called the North Peak. The jutting out part on the right is called the East Buttress. Time to get out now... Thanks for looking
  19. You can have a pretty adventurous time in this magnificent scenery...Captions are a bit unecessary as it is just the best scenery of mountains that I have seen in a flight simulator:- The scenery is of course from Microsoft's FLIGHT and the Carbon Cub is just perfect for this sort of flying. Thanks for looking
  20. Thanks Joe...Your comments are appreciated
