  1. Glad that helped you mate . I was looking at the ORBX Tasmania free trial the other night, looks very nice and the glider video was stunning, so I'll more than likely give this one a go in the next few day's, and that will probably lead to me getting the full version Although I was saving up to get UTX Canada! I got some freeware land class and airports from Flight Ontario that's supposed to be enhanced by UTX, (there's just to much eye candy with this FSX lark, for my wallet to stand ) Cheer's...Graham...
  2. Very nice indeed.:001_th_smiles89: The harbor scene is my favorite, what add-ons did you use to make these shots? Cheer's...Graham...
  3. Everything from Addon Scenery and lower, i.e the stuff that FSX came with. :001_th_smiles89: EDIT: if you have FSX Acceleration, for Addon Scenery, read Edwards_AFB and below Where should "Default Scenery" be on the list? Mine is above Edwards for some reason! Don't know if this will help you, but I have never moved my "Default Scenery" since I installed FSX. The install placed it second from the bottom? (I don't know if thats the right place, but everything seem's to be working OK, so I left it there??? ) Cheer's...Graham...
  4. Thanks Joe, that's the one I thought, Graham confused me with saying the Word version. I have mine set to open with Notepad also. I actually created a shortcut to the FSX.cfg on my desktop for easy access. I was confused myself mate, Especially when I saw that there are two FSX.cfg files in there, one opens with notepad and the other is a word doc . I also used this tweaking tool that Joe has linked in this thread Automated FSX.cfg tweaks have a look, I think that my FPS is better now, as it seems a lot smoother when I pan around in the Do-27 . Cheer's...Graham...
  5. Thanks Joe . That worked a treat, once I found the right file that is (it has to go into the "WORD" file, and not the note pad one, like I tried first ). Cheer's...Graham...
  6. I Wish that you had posted this yesterday!, as the REX2 download was on sale, $20 OFF for one day only but it's over now . Kicked myself as I only bought it 2 weeks ago for the full price :001_th_smiles48: but even at that price it is more than worth it IMO . Cheer's...Graham...
  7. Just a quick question now. (I bet that Sabre would like to know this as well ). Is there any way to turn off the “RED TEXT” that appears in the right hand corner for a few seconds when you alter the zoom (- and + keys)? I find this to be a real pain when your trying to make a screen shot? Cheer's...Graham...
  8. Cor! now that does look nice, mate, :icon_thumbup: I would say thats some money thats been well spent on this set up, don't tell your wife though Cheer's...Graham...
  9. Very nice, I love it :icon_thumbup: . Just one thing though! now that weather is warming up in our neck of the woods, is your RAM getting enough airflow with that big cooler over the top?, maybe you could fit a fan in one of the drive bays and direct it at them?. Cheer's...Graham...
  10. Right then lets see what Dai's Cornish is like . This is Goonhilly earth station, with Goonhilly Downs wind farm is in the distance, I did manage to hit one of the turbines, and yes it did destroy my plane :o , so it may be a good idea not to get to close to these things next time out Cheer's...Graham...
  11. I would just like to say that I have had the pleasure of being on "teamspeak3" with Graeme! and he sounds just like that :D . Cheer's...Graham... PS: His scenery looks nice though but what is that peice of junk he's flying???
  12. Hi mate, welcome to Mutleys, it's nice to have another West Country man on board . Cheer's...Graham...
  13. No worries Dai, I’ll have another go tonight and see if I can get a decent screenshot of them, I also want to try crashing into one of the wind turbines to see if they actually are a real hazard . Cheer's...Graham...
  14. Cheer's again Dai, just googled "Aberthaw B" and I don't think it's that one, I took off from Weston-Super-Mare and headed north, think that the ones I saw were in the Grangetown area. Cheer's...Graham...
  15. Thanks Dai, I was not sure of the name of the place, but these were on the northwest side of Anglesey, so it looks like your right :icon_thumbup: Will be looking for the powerstations later on tonight, I want to see if they really have the smoke visible at 20 miles, like it claims in the instructions. I did find two huge chimneys near Cardiff last night, and it did look like a power plant! but they were not showing any smoke at all! Cheer's...Graham...
  16. Hey Guys I have just found this add-on scenery as well . It's made for use with the Horizon photo scenery really, but decided try it out anyway, and it also works a treat with my JF photo scenery as well :icon_thumbup: When I was at the airfield, I could see these pylons sticking out of the ground in the distance The wind turbines are rotating as well, I think this is the coolest freeware I have seen so far :icon_rockon: I bet that Dai can even tell us where these shots were made? . Cheer's...Graham...
  17. Thanks Joe. I was just wondering if I was doing something wrong, as the free JF download of RAF Coningsby http://www.justflight.com/product.asp?pid=279 just will not work on my system, if you want to take off from there or look at it from the air, the runway is "FLASHING" on and off badly? not sure what I could do to fix it so I deleted it!, all the other freeware at justflight works fine though, anyone have any ideas of what the problem may be? Cheer's...Graham... Graham, didn't you install a free runway and taxiway addon previously, maybe there's compatibllity issue with that? Tha
  18. These films are in German, but still worth watching if you like this type of thing Here's another Do-27 being used in a documentary called "Serengeti darf nicht sterben" (The Serengeti shall not die) Made in about 1958. It was written and directed by Bernhard Grzimek, and filmed by his son "Michael" I should also add that the young man in these videos Michael Grzimek died on-location during the filming of the documentary when the Do-27 "D-ENTE" collided with a vulture and he lost control of it. This is 1 of 9 some nice aerial footage showing them crossing the Alps and traveling
  19. Excellent slide show Cheer's...Graham...
  20. Oops! your right! I made another booboo, it's "Tony Hart" and not David Hart as I originally said  , well I did say that I must be getting old . I thought you would have been more of a Swap-shop man Dia? . Cheer's...Graham... PS: So who was this David Hart guy anyway?
  21. Cor! that music brought back some childhood memories, used to be the theme to David Harts program if I'm not mistaken . Is that the seaplane that comes in the Carenado C185F Skywagon Bush (FOR FSX) been looking at this set, I think it would be a good set up to use for Canada IMO . Cheer's...Graham...
  22. You only said that because you saw your name in the end credits (but seriously mate, thanks for all the tips you gave me about this ) Also, thanks for all the other comments Chaps, going to do another one in a few days when I have collected enough shots Cheer's...Graham...
  23. Thanks, just uploaded the fixed version . Just watched your spitfire video, very nice , we must have the same tastes in music and aircraft because I have the RealAir Supermarine Spitfire coming, it should be here any day now Cheer's...Graham...
  24. Well! I'm afraid that you have Sabre to blame for this as he's got me onto this style of showing screenshots as well. First up is a flight I just made from Frankfurt-Hahn (EDFH) to Manston (EGMH). It was a dawn take off, and hoped to get too Manson in time for breakfast. The flight plan was easy, "airport to airport" with no messing about, although I did take a small diversion north when I was near Zeebrugge, Belgium so that I could say that I had been to Holland as well . Apart from some thick fog and cloud cover from the Rhineland to Belgium border area there were no major problems unti
