  1. These guys would be about as popular as a pork sausage in a synagogue down here where we have enormous problems with forest fires,
  2. Cynical, ? moi? how could you suggest such a thing Sir escaping protons eh most interesting , isnt that what the French are calling the queues of people at Calais
  3. You have all missed the obvious, clearly LM have realised that we all need more power to enable us to utilise P3D to its maximum, and this is their answer to our problems so in a few years we will be buying a complete package ie: simulator and power source , makes good business sense keeping it all in-house either that or it is a replcement energy source for the dreamliner
  4. much appreciated m8 luckily i stopped updateing windows a year ago after their last cock up
  5. it is amazing how one forgets things , recently i have been getting quite low fps readings flying out of Perpignan and I had put it down to the new airbus 318/9 which on the ground gave 32 fps all the way to about 4 thousand feet where it started to tail off down to about 12fps . here it would stay only to recover a bit at altitude. I finally twigged what we all knew when we first started playing with fsx but forgot, i had the sea at low2x, by lowering it one notch to 1x i recovered my fps to 65fps in one fell swoop. yes the sea doesnt look as nice, but does that matter at 35k feet? a
  6. didnt think of that James, next time i will paint a message on the roof I was wondering the same thing Jiohn however the military rarely use civilan navaids it may well be a loran waypoint the only civilian aid they flew over was CS (345) (carcassonne) however there is a military base NNW of Carcassonne called Moussoulens which using google looks disused, however maybe there is something there?
  7. ever since we moved to this house 3 years ago i have heard these guys ,and seen them on radar sites on the net, but only occasionally seen them with my eyes,if you have clear skies you cant see them, if it is cloudy , they are normally above the clouds, but on the odd occasion you do get to see them and today was one and i had my camera to hand. I apologise that you have to zoom in on the photos but I only have a 200mm lens and they were at 23,000 feet in the first pick you can see the kc135 turning overhead my house being chased by two mirages on the left, in the second pass they are close be
  8. John, for us in Europe more gun control means more safety for jo public we dont need to be armed like Rambo to feel secure
  9. I had no problems with the local fuzz checking my gun cabinet etc however when they banned rifles i simply joined a club in france and took my AR15 there, now it is with me here, all correctly decalred- no problem I might even go so far as to suggest that the average person in Europe would find it quite distasteul to even own a gun

I agree John, I am very happy with win7 but sadly it will be replaced in time .

I have been a beta tester for m.s. since the much maligned vista and have recently been told that m.s. have removed my muzzle so can now tell you about win10 I have been working with it for 4 months now and it is certainly better than win8/8.1 . I am not a fan of the "metro interface" but win 10 has certainly taken a step in the right direction and despite our pessimism it does seem that m.s. are taking our opinions on board. Time will tell! whilst they are still trying to separate the games side from the work side as apps from one side wont work with the other side the people in power seem
  12. James I love that one whilst I have a bicycle ,it has an attachment for my huskies, it never ceases to amaze me (being a motorcyclist) when I see the crowds of cyclists who pass my house we are over 1000 feet uphill and the locals seem to get a great deal; of glee, pulling up outside my house, puce in their face and huffing and puffing. Thy tell me it is good for their health, and who can doubt that the average cyclist must have an amazing cardio vascular system, it seems a shame that 90% of them die of lung cancer because of inhaled fumes from diesel vehicles.
  13. LOL Geoff !! I am hoping to move back to the UK after xmas this year but having been used to the wilds here for over 12 years may find it difficult to live in normal circumstances so may have to rent a shed from Dai in Wales
  14. As I sit here watching a pair of golden eagles orbiting the house and calling to one another, The Indian summer continues (it is currently 30 degrees on the terrace) but one is all too aware it cant last forever. In recent mornings whilst out walking the dogs in the vinyards , we have been serenaded by masses of skylarks hovering over our heads , it always saddens me to hear them at this time of year because they bring a further indication that winter is around the corner and in a few days they will be gone to warmer climes, unlike the spring when they pass through when they are a harbinger of
  15. no virus here just false positives, it seems a shame that everyone is so negative , it works well for me with no issues maybe it is something to do with the british mentality against something new that works well, I cant answer for x=plane as that isnt interesting for me.
  16. I have used the search engine and cannot see that this has been duscussed or mentioned May I recommend that those who want a really good flight planner that links into vatsim or ivao give this a long look. It appears to be a cross between Aivla EFB and PFPX it is very comprehensive even giving you the active natracks of the day. plus it is easy on the eye More importantly it is free and very very good From their website: What is EFASS? EFASS (short for Electronic Flight Assistant) is the ultimate Flightplanning and Moving-Map tool for virtual pilots. EFASS lets you quickly export yo
  17. How interesting! i had never come across that before. The trident that i used to fly had the graphics package and screens from an indian airlines 747/400 grafted onto the sim

    Desert Air

yeah that is one clean design well done!
  19. Thanks Al i like seeing how close i can take a picture to make it look like a real situ without using photoshop to cut out the a/c and paste it on a real bachground
  20. hi geof the 320/1 is the aerosoft one , it works well however the latest 318/9 is currently very buggy and for whatever reason very heavy on fps. the 757 is the quality wings version and yes the 737 is the pmdg version, it is so solid to fly
  21. James good to have you back ! I was a little unhappy with some of the Mse stuff although it isnt expensive . You can now get an excellent free Belgium arguably better than MSE but I dont want to start a heavy discussion on that again. this is a pic climbing out of Brussels you can also get all of Spain in reasonable detail again free, half of Portugal again in very good detail, quite a lot of Italy , all of Holland . also the France vfr photo stuff is very good but you have to buy it sadly. I may be wrong but from what I understand, France scenery will not be made available to non french c
  22. Chris, why the question mark? Twas obvious to us anoraks who even know that the Trident's main wheels were four in a line and the uc assembly rotated when raised and lowered. Nice try Nigel, got any more teasers? I will have a ponder!
  23. sh-------t I thought that would last at least 3 minutes was it that obvious? you are banned from my next competition
  24. speaking as we were about DM's excellent fs9 models on another thread brought me remembering when i used to play around on the ex British airways Trident 4 simulator near Biggin Hill. now here is a question for you all When flying a Trident down an ILS or any approach really for that matter, with no wind or any external influence , why did one have to regualarly use the rudder to keep the a/c on the center line, ie why would it not fly straight? answers on a post card or letter with sae no i wonder if any of you know, the answer is quite logical if you knowor have flown the a/c
