  11. Hi Dave, Rarotonga, runway is 2,328m (7,637ft) with ILS, VOR-DME and NDB I'm sure that will be enough? If not we can put a stop in (somewhere?) between NCRG and PHNL? OR we could fly straight from NZ to Hawaii, I thought it would be nice to pop in on the Cook Islands :mrhappy: Like I say this is up for discussion so if any one has a comment please post here. Re the trans Pacific legs, as I mentioned above we need to take in all continents hence this route rather than RJBB direct to KSFO. Don't forget this is not a race and I realise after the holiday pilot availability will be more sca

I thought I had banned you
  15. Challenge update, what happens next. First of all we need to make sure we cover all the continents. Therefore I propose the challenge will take this outline route. Australasia, America (North, Central then South), Antarctica then Africa before returning home. So the next big hurdle will be the Pacific, I have secured authorisation from all the controlling authorities to take the following route:- Leg 16 Hong Hong VHHH --> Japan - Osaka Kansai International Airport RJBB Completed by Smeagol Leg 17 Osaka RJBB -->> Papua New Guinea Port Moresby Airport AYPY Completed by Mutle

  17. Phew that was a long post Phil, but it was a long flight  Some great shots (especially the baton in the cockpit, nice touch!) really enjoyed reading it and looking forward to reading it again. Thanks for flying this leg, we are now taking bids for leg 16, please refer to the Challenge Control Centre to place your bid and Phil if you can give this a bit longer we like to wait 24 hrs so all members get a chance. Please make the award in the control centre post. Thanks
  18. I thought I would share the reply back from number 10 about the funding of the Red Arrows.............. Thank you for signing the petition on the No.10 website calling for the maintenance of the Red Arrows. It is a sign of the place they hold in the national affections that so many people have joined you in signing it - one of the highest numbers since the e-petition service began. That's why I wanted to reply personally. It's also why I am replying before the petition officially closes, in order to reassure people who are clearly concerned. I am pleased to be able to give you good news. The

    One Liners pt2

I phoned the local ramblers club today, and this bloke just went on and on. My mate asked me, "What do you think of voluntary work?" I said, "I wouldn't do it if you paid me." So I was in the jungle and there was this monkey with a tin opener. I said, "You don't need a tin opener to peel a banana." He said, "No, this is for the custard." This policeman came up to me with a pencil and a piece of very thin paper. He said, "I want you to trace someone for me." This lorry full of tortoises collided with a van full of terrapins. It was a turtle disaster. I told my girlfriend I had a job in a

I said, "Well,I've been on telly but I'm no Dean Martin. I phoned the local gym and I asked if they could teach me how to do the splits. He said, "How flexible are you?" I said, "I can't make Tuesdays or Thursdays." Batman came up to me and he hit me over the head with a vase and he went, "T'PAU!"I said, "Don't you mean KAPOW??" He said, "No, I've got china in my hand." I bought some Armageddon cheese today, and it said o
