  1. I have the same problem, there is a warning at Flight Sim Store that they are moving to new servers this week and that they might me inaccessible at times.
  2. The OzX image hosting website fsfiles.org has been down the whole day, all my screenshots are gone... Wait and see ! Edit : saw a msg at Flight Sim Store, they are migrating to new servers. Just have to wait until it's done.
  3. New South Wales - Day 18 (Part 2) After reaching Seal Rocks, it's an 80° right turn to leave the coast and head towards my destination. Soon I am flying over the trees of the Narong State Forest. Although I am now inland, I fly over a large zone where land and water share the landscape. The next waypoint on my flight plan is Clarence Town. By doing this short detour, I avoid entering the controlled airspace around the Williamtown YWLM military base. From there I expect my 230° heading to lead me directly to the runway 23 in Maitland. But in the meantime
  4. New South Wales - Day 18 (Part 1) I had to wait two days for the weather to clear up in Port Macquarie so I could continue my flight south. The leg for today follows the beautiful coast of this region during the first part until Seal Rocks, before turning right over the land to end in Maitland YMND, in the outskirts of the large city of Newcastle. The sky is still covered, but the clouds ceiling is now almost at 5000 ft, which leaves me plenty of room to fly underneath. Visibility is very good, pressure is back up at 30.18 in and a gentle 7 knots eastern breeze comes from the
  5. I know the place well ! One of my first jobs in the 70s was for a Jersey company, "Channel Islands Ferries" operating a ferry named "Fleur des Iles" between Saint Malo and Saint Hélier. A few years later, I also worked for a local transport company where I was in charge of a freight service with the Channel Islands. I used to go over to Jersey and Guernsey at least twice a week, either with the "Solidor" ferry when I had trailers on board or from Dinard with the Islanders of Aurigny Air Service when I needed to go see customers over there. I'm still in touch with a couple of people there I use
  6. Auto-eradication of "homo sapiens" is probably the best chance for this planet, and we're working hard in this direction ! Although it will have a bad end anyway with the future expansion of the sun ... but that's still a few years down the road.
  7. Yep, went for a little Alaska flight for my Air Hauler company. They were surprised to see me around !
  8. New South Wales - Port Macquarie - Oct 26, 14:00 local I came back on Sunday afternoon from my weekend on Lord Howe Island. Monday 26 : it's raining and the cloud layers are between 1200 and 2900 ft. Flight cancelled for today !
  9. Another charge against the quality of french restaurants ! As my grandfather in Saint Malo used to say : " If God has put the englishmen on an island, there must be a reason ! "

  12. New South Wales - Day 18 - A weekend in paradise. After a quick look at the map, I suddenly feel like having a nice weekend in a place known to be part of the top 10 of the world's paradise islands. Lord Howe Island is far from the east coast of New South Wales, 315 nm from Port Macquarie to be precise. It's a little far away for the Waco, but I'm lucky to find a Lancair Legacy I can rent for the weekend. With its 220 knots cruise speed it will seriously shorten the flight ! For those who wouldn't know this beautiful bird, here is a picture of the office on the parking in Port Macqua

  15. New South Wales - Day 17 Still windy ! After looking at the map and the weather forecast, I decide to go for a short flight to Port Macquarie YPMQ. Both airfields have a main 03 runway, which roughly corresponds to the wind direction. Athmospheric pressure is down to 29.92 in, but the sky is still clear and we have 24°C on the ground this afternoon. The wind is still blowing at 20 knots from the NE, and it's going to push me down the coast. Following the coastline, I soon fly over Urunga. In front of me the coast makes a curve all the way to the peninsula near
  16. New South Wales - Day 16 Along the Pacific coast Plan for today is to fly down the coast to Coffs Harbour YSCH. Nothing difficult with navigation, just following the coastline, with the luxury of a VOR/DME in Coffs Harbour on 117 Mhz. Still nice weather and clear sky, a bit of wind on take off in Evans Head ( 13 knots from NE ) and 24°C on the ground. Flying down the Pacific coast, passing over the village of Yamba. Soon afterwards I fly over my first waypoint, the private strip of Toumbal Plains House, in the middle of the Yuraigir National Park. A few miles further I
  17. This is assuming there will still be grocery stores !
  18. New South Wales - Day 15 To the Pacific Ocean ! We made friends with the people who invited me and in the end I stayed over the weekend for the barbecue. Monday is time to keep on flying, and we're heading to Evans Head YEVD, on the east coast, making short leaps between airfields used as waypoints. Take off around 14:30 local, still nice weather , but now some clouds around 3500 ft. 25°C on the ground, and 12 knots of wind from the ENE. I will have to be careful with the flock of birds flying around the airfield ! I manage to find my way between the hills close from m
  19. Thks Andrew, i'm affraid I will have to fly with an imported C 207 then...
  20. I'm looking for an Aussie repaint for the Alabeo Cessna C 207 ( for my Australia tour ). Didn't find any at OzX or my usual freeware websites. Anyone knows ?

  22. LFMD Cannes Mandelieu released http://secure.simmarket.com/lmt-simulation-cannes-mandelieu-lfmd-fsx-p3d.phtml Will be also soon available by Flight Sim Store.
  23. New South Wales - Day 14 For the next leg I will throw in some navigation difficulty and I plan a stop on a country airfield, Baryuigil YBYL.. The only information I have is that the airfield is 691 ft high and it's a narrow bitumen runway. I have a waypoint in between over the airfield of Glen Innes YGLI. Temperature is down, as the departing airfield in Inverell is almost 3000 ft high. We have only 20°C this afternoon, but the high pressures are still there, the wind still moderate with 8 knots from southeast. After 20 minutes in the flight, I come right on Glen Innes.
  24. New South Wales - Day 13 Next leg will be a one hour flight from Narrabri YNBR to Inverell YIVL with a lasting nice weather. Take off from Narrabri early afternoon with once again ideal conditions. Stable high pressures at 30.48 in, great visibility, a light 8 knots breeze from the south and no cloud in the sky. Temperature has gone down to 23° C, may be because of the mountains near by. The highest ground on the way is also the closest from my departing airfield and I need to climb to 5500 ft. The Waco is not well known for its climb rate, but it will do the trick withou
