  1. I borrowed the 'dozer and some scenery from Flightsim.com. Andrew has the details here. Unfortunately, the file size, at 54 MB, is rather high, but it's excellent stuff - as you can see! This was at Bundaberg - I think you were keen to get to the bar?!? Cheers - Dai. P.S. Still the same old shorts, though!!

    Hangar Doors

You're right, Hawk-Eye!! Chingachgook would've been proud of you... Joe and I used the Eaglesoft hangar for Mutley's headquarters at EGHI. The download is available here and it works in FSX as well as FS9. Cheers - Dai.
  7. In a perfect world, the VC would be as realistic as the real thing, I guess. As we've only - well, at the moment, anyway - got a mouse and keyboard, we'll have to make do with what the developers can afford to do without the finished product being too expensive for us mere mortals, with our limited pockets. Maybe the touch-screen/tablet will introduce a more effective user interface? Anyways, onwards and upwards, eh?!? Cheers - Dai.
  8. Please accept the following comments as my own, personal views - and not an attack on you, Rob! I'm not sure about this point - certainly for basic training, a detailed 2-D Panel is possibly the best thing to cut your teeth on as each instrument can be accurately represented, albeit in 2 dimensions, so that the actual operation of the instrument is easier to get to grips with. Marking on this basis wouldn't be straightforward as, currently, a score of 7/10 - representing a model without a usable 2-D Panel - is unacceptably low, from most peoples' view. Remember the FCS Lanc - I, initiall
  9. Welcome to Leg 3 of Team Mutley's entry to the Great Australian Air Rally, 2011 Here's the Flight Plan for this Leg from Bundaberg (YBUD) to Ladt Elliott Island (YLYT): The Dizzie's refuelled and ready to go, just saying G'bye to some new friends... Gear coming up: Leaving the green island of YBUD behind: Approaching our first turn at the YBA NDB: First turn at Hervey Bay (YHBA), towards the southern tip of Frazer Island: Second turn up the east coast of Frazer Island: Frazer Island, so-called because a Captain Frazer, his wife and others landed here after their ship, the
  10. So, it's back to chess, then?!? Cheers - Dai.
  11. @ Kieran - thanks for the Test Flight Time! @ E.J. - no worries, mate - I'll work out an average based on the other pilots and submit it, so you're still O.K. to fly a Leg. Cheers - Dai.
  12. Perfick! Well done, Chuck - but just how did you get on the KU 192 VOR radial? That's what E.J. would've liked to know - especially in the default DC-3!?! I only managed in the JF DC-3 by 'borrowing' a 2-D Panel from another model, which had an ILS big enough to use. I guess you could use Tom's Plan-G to set up a flight plan with a couple of extra user waypoints to 'line-up' on the 192 radial. Otherwise, it's just a question of watching the big compass as you over-fly YPKU - oh yes, AND start the timer... Nice flight - thanks for showing us how to do it, Chuck - and for posting your Test Fli
  13. If only - nice HU, Boss - can I have some time orf?!? Cheers - Dai.
  14. Thanks, Rob - I'm sure we all appreciate your efforts, mate! Cheers - Dai.

  18. If Rex was having one, so was Rinty (a.k.a. Rin Tin Tin) ... Enjoy! Cheers - Dai.
  19. Good flight and excellent screen shots, Boss! Thanks for posting your Flight Time. Once I get the others' Test Flight Times I'll be able to submit the Team Mutley PIREP email(s) to the GAAR 2011 organiser. Cheers - Dai.
  20. Hi AIdan - I'll be flying Leg 3 tonight/tomorrow and will post as soon as I can. So, anytime after that... BTW, can we have your Test Flight Time before you do Leg 4, please? Thanks. Cheers - Dai.
  21. Welcome to the Mutley's Hangar Team entry to the Great Australian Air Rally 2011! Our first Leg is from Coolangatta (YBCG) to Chinchilla (YCCA) - here's a flight plan from Tim's Plan-G: The Team has got everything ready and here we are ready for take off: Cleaning her up, with a nice view of the tower at Gold Coast Airport: Turning north towards the first NDB at Bromelton (374 KHz): View towards Brisbane to starboard: Over Dalby airport - the 3rd Waypoint: Starting to descend: Downwind leg at Chinchilla: ... and the base turn: A bit shaky on short final approach (!)
  22. No worries, Kieran - take your time, school-work does take priority!! Cheers - Dai.
  23. Roger that, Boss - I'll post GAAR Leg 1 tonight, if I can. By the way - I'm still short of Test Flight Times from Aidan, E.J. and Kieran. We can't compute the average until you guys have submitted this info!! Lastly, Rob has suggested that we 'close' the Roster on Wednesday so that we can get on with the flying. Soooo - let us know if you're going to join us, please!! Cheers - Dai.
  24. Kieran - Rob has sent me a preview of his repaint and, yes, it's for the JF Dizzie. It looks good to me - and if you P.M. Rob, I'm sure he'll get a copy to you. And that goes for anyone else with the JF DC-3, I guess. Cheers - Dai. P.S. Fame at last, Rob!!
  25. Well, Rob has been busy with the Team Mutley Dizzie in the paintshop - and here she is! We've arrived at the start of GAAR 2011 - that's Gold Coast airport (YBCG) - just making some final adjustments to instruments, so forth, before we start... A couple of Legs still available to anyone not on the Roster - give us a yell! Cheers - Dai. P.S. Great job, Rob - thanks, mate!!
