  1. Manuel, of course you can enter! Everyone is welcome, and I must say you have posted some very competitive shots!
  2. Thanks very much Rob! I was a little nervous considering this was my first scenery review and the difference between scenery/aircraft is qutie steep, but obviously I have survived . Thanks, Jack
  3. I apologise for the delay, everyone. Unfortunately we've hit a few problems connecting CDU to the Card, reason being is because the pins on the card are so close together it has become near impossible to achieve it. Never fear, a solution is being worked on but not sure when it'll be finished. Once again I do apologise, Jack
  4. Oi! You! get the blo*dy hell off've my wing!
  5. Ohhhhhhhh yes. Seems like my Sim just got a new pilot! In fact, he's asked me to produce tutorials on how to program a CDU just so he can use it! BTW: The Opencockpits Card has literally just arrived! It will be wired tonight, hopefully for (first time ever) a VIDEO of the CDU & Pedestal in action! Very exciting news!
  6. Hey look! There's an engine on the right side too!
  7. Wednesday 2nd June At long, long, long, long last, the CDU wiring has been completed! This means that absolutely everything is done, all that's left to do is connect it to the O/C Board when it arrives. A big thanks goes to my father for his sodlering skills which are second-to-none, unfortunately I can't do any wiring like this (you'll see below why... Looks at the complexity!). These are probably the last shots you'll see of the Pedestal until the O/C Card is connected (hopefully this weekend). The Matrix wiring: How the CDU "Screen" works on the Pedestal: Also, you may have noticed
  8. Again, another intersting theme! Will have to jump in right away with this A300B4 Cockpit, a very interesting Bird because it is quite unusual for Airbus not to have a Sidestick (as it was one of the very early models): And something you don't want to be doing very often... Approaching Bishop Rock in a ferocious storm! Bell 206 trying to land on a cruiseliner:
  9. Hiya Mike, No refund yet, but Opencockpits have received it and they say they wil lrefund me via PayPal very soon. Furthermore, just found five defective switches shilst testing the CDU with a Multimeter! Not to worry though, they will be repaired today just in time for the arrival of the USBKeys Card.
  10. The Opencockpits USBKeys Card has been shipped, and the circuitry for the CDU has been complete. The only thing left to do is wait for the USBKeys Card to arrive, and when it does just attatch the circuitry straight onto it. Then all I do is plug it into the PC, then run a SIOC script and hey presto!
  11. Who the heck says Coffee like that!
  12. Thanks alot for the kind words Brian! good news is, the CDU is "going udner the knife" today with ALL the circuitry being completed. The final stage of itnerfacing will be done when the O/C card arrives! Jack
  13. Friday 28th May I have some great news! Opencockpits have finally confirmed that they have recived the CDU, and that the refund should arrive soon. Anyway, I've ordered the USBKeys Card from Opencockpits and it will be fully wired up to the (home-built) CDU within a week or two, all pictures will of course be posted! This is finally some good progress in a long while. I'm not sure what I'll implement next, we shall see! Thanks alot, Jack
  14. Hiya SETAC, Are you asking for a picture of my entire "Cockpit" or something else?
  15. 22nd May The Yaw Damper Switches and IRS Mode Selector knobs have been added. Currently, everything you see on the picture below is functional, APART from the IRS Mode Selector knobs (these will be interfaced with the Opencockpits Master Card when I buy one). Furthermore, great progress has been made on the IRS annunciators, with all three of them being completed just not yet installed. What you see below DOES light up and interface with the Sim (using Opencockpits Master Card)! I then have to add the final rotary switch for the IRS selector (L, C or R), then all that's left to do is th
  16. PacMan always brings back all sorts of memories  , I'm glad Google have managed to pull off an interactive tribute logo this time, pretty awesome don't you think!
  17. Try going to google, and clicking on the "Insert a coin" button next to the search button! Report your findings  .
  18. I have cleaned up the first post a little bit, correcting what has been completed so far. I have to have the Yaw Damper Switches fully fitted and interfaced this weekend, and then I'll move on to the IRS selectors.
  19. When someone saw a Beechcraft they unfortunately got the wrong idea
  20. Thanks alot Mike! With a 25ft square cockpit god only knows what you could fit in...
  21. Sorry Joe, the CDU screen is 5" (the hole is 5"), which is placed on top of a 5" monitor. See this picture for clarification:
  22. Hello everyone! Over the past few weeks I have been busy typing away a PDF tutorial on how to building your 100% very own GA Autopilot Panel for MSFS. It takes you through every single step, and I hope some of your find it interesting! I'd like to say a huge thank you to John Allard for proof-reading the document and correcting my mistakes. Thanks John! Here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/file/dyozzmkzm1n/Bulding own AP Panel.pdf I hope you enjoy it, all feedback is truly welcome, Jack
  23. Sunday 9th May 2010 I have some very exciting news to report! The CDU construction is now 100% complete! I still have the wiring left to do, and from thereon interfacing, but for the most part we are complete! I'd like to thank my father for greatly helping me with the CDU construction, thankfully his experience allowed me to build such a precise unit. In this first picture, notice how the CDU "screen" is actually just an enclosed hole which very neatly slots over the 15" EICAS Panel: Some more pics: I am also building a B767 MCP, but this is a smaller background project so I will
