  3. NZAR 2016 Leg 08 Ashburton NZAS to Omana NZOM A sprightly departure at 0515 from Ashburton has us warming the oil in the dark and then heading out to the Burnham NDB on 033 for 31Nm to Woodend, flying directly over Christchurch, on 017 for 21Nm. A long push up to Kaikoura on 016 for 70Nm then has us crossing the mountains on a 354 for 57Nm to the Blenheim NDB and finally swinging over 225 for 5Nm to Omaka Airport. After a LOT of fumbling around in the dark as I forgot my flashlight (I actually had to change the time to 0700 to turn on the batt

Yup night shots in XP are the bomb!
  6. Great shots! Have started using FSrealWX with X-Plane.
  7. Last month the Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina 9767 a previously payware plane was released as freeware and is now available for X-Plane 11 only on the org: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/38316-consolidated-pby-5a-catalina-9767 So I decided to take her up around New Plymouth for a test fly as well as play a bit with setting up X-Camera. I refactored by throttles for twin engines and was able to successfully use them in my taxi down the runway. There are absolutely no flaps on her but those big engines got us to 85Kn pretty quickly. ORBX payment

Yea for a while there they were targeting a lot of software digital download companies as they weren't selling "real" items. I suppose it was hard for them to split the legitimate from the money launders??
  9. Yea just saw the Q8pilot video and it looks nifty but not something I need right now.
  10. Heh, I noticed that too! I was around 750-1000' feet on my passes but that second pass looked around 500'-ish
  11. So after seeing this today... Of course I had to try for myself! Fired up Ortho4XP, go the DEMs, created the four tiles and I was off!! Managed to do 1 circuit then crashed. Managed another 3 and then Over G'd the plane. LOL Good times! Thought I had recorded it to share and then watched the reply and it was trying to capture all three screens as once every third frame so it was unwatchable. Anyone else have fun in the Loop?? What's your fav plane to fly it with? I think I'll get another bunch of ortho's as the ones from Bing wer
  12. What a great little plane If you ever come to the Dark Side (X-Plane) there is a FANTASTIC freeware model on the org: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/37037-republic-seabee-rc3/ A real beaut for VFR and for feeling like Roger Moore from the Man with the Golden Gun!
  13. 130 set looks great but I have a personal issue with the "zoom" in P3D and the distortion it adds. The stand out for me is the tail shot of the Air New Zealand Fokker (is that right?)
  14. Awesome will have to check these out!
  15. Certainly is, especially now I have my head tracking working after moving my room around to allow for better illumination (using FreeTrackNoIR with a ps3 camera and correct 5.1 sound =) Very cool to look around the cockpit and have the sound scape move appropriately too. I also really enjoy sitting in the rear passenger seats as they have awesome windows too.
  16. NZAR 2016 Leg 07 Wanaka NFWF to Ashburton NZAS A nice sleep in and a walk near the lake before our 1230 departure on Rwy 29 for the Mount Mary VOR (RY) tracking 028 for 56Nm and then turning for Ashburton NDB at 056 for 67Nm. The second half will be a bit of a snooze fest but the first part will take us up to Lake Pukaki and Tekapo with Mount Cook in the background and then across the flats to Ashburton. Well the oils warm and the engine is running, time for taxi and take off. I'm actually going to wander on my way up to Tekapo and go through
  17. Yup pretty amazing!
  18. The alt tag is used by browsers as a text placeholder when the image is not shown Looks like the editor here grabs the "filename" as the alt text and that just happens to be random_string_generated_crap
  19. Really nice work there! You've got a great eye for fantastic shots.
  20. 21. OK Here's a quick tutorial for using OneDrive to share images If you don't already have OneDrive installed (preinstalled on Window 10), go to https://onedrive.live.com and sign in with your hotmail/outlook.com/microsoft account or sign up for a free account. Create the folders you want on your PC and save your images: Now OneDrive does provide a windows right-click menu option to share a link, unfortunately this does not work for our purpose and you will have to log onto OneDrive from your browser, navigate to your folder, click the image you want and t
