  1. Thanks to all for your comments! Now just a last photo showing the home cockpit in its FSX default B737-800 form:- So, by just changing the metal panel masks, I can get into some "heavy metal" and take-on some longer flights. This time with at least 1 friend to share out the work correctly (PILOT flying / COPILOT radio). The jumpseat occupied by the barperson ...... David
  2. Seems obvious to me that someone who has been using Flight Simulator for many years is going to have a better chance to land an airliner suddenly deprived of its pilots ... notice I said "better chance to land" than "be able to fly" (given all those bad habits we have built up not having 100% feedback in our home cockpits! With aid over the radio and a reasonable understanding of the autopilot a simmer would be able to get out of the cruise and into the approach. Here it becomes a little more complex, given that autopilot use would probably have to be relinquished and the possibilty of last mi
  3. Amazing how many people on youtube don't seem to get this high ironery ...... David
  4. Exciting stuff! .... what's your program/planning for completion?? David
  5. Bonjour Colwah, Thanks for the info on the Flight1 ATR ... I will try loading it, although I'm not sure how I can use the overhead on my present 2 seat cockpit setup (SEE "Cockpit Images" on this forum (GENERAL) David
  6. Thanks folks, although it is not a "dedicated" cockpit I can fly with 9 different aircraft (each with their own panel configuration), for example here is the default CESSNA Each plane has its own removable metal masks. Joe ... hadn't thought of charging admission (might pay for a new sim-cockpit?), at present all my friends use it free (apart from the drinks!!) David
  7. Right guys, thanks for the help! ... I'll give it a go (even though I am somewhat overawed by the sophisticated B757/767 setup already on the forum!!) Here is my latest 2 seat flight simulator cockpit, setup for the default BARON I should clarify that I am not trying to realistically create one specific aircraft, but make the cockpit a bit generic allowing me to fly both light and heavy metal! David
  8. Merci Joe! Right I will post some photos of my home-built cockpit setup ... but do I have to be the first? ... must be some other forum members who've been going at this longer than me?! As a "new member" ... how do I post images here ??!?? David
  9. Dear Forum moderator(s), Is this the correct Topic to post images of our home built flightsim cockpits? ... including of course "out of window" views! If not should we creat a new "topic" ... I feel sure that there are now quite a number of keen simmers who are considering building cockpits (or even improving the reality of their desktop setup), and they/we would benefit from the advice of wiser souls who have already started on this seductive occu^pation ......... ?!?! David
  10. Thanks you guys ... this seems a very friendly forum! I'll follow up your suggestions and if I find any decent Bahamas FSX scenery will post on this thread. David
  11. Bonjour Colwah, Glad your problem was resolved "in the family" ... is this the ATR 72-500 by Flight One? I have this, but have yet to instal it due to reading various adverse (FSX) comments on the net! Are you happy with it? And does it have a decent 2d cockpit panel (I do not use the 3d virtual panel, as I have a home built cockpit here!) Are there any other good sims of this type of aircraft (twin short jaul turbo-prop)? David
  12. Hi Joe, OOPS ... Just getting used to this forum! Thanks for the quick reply ... will come back to you when I've tried these sources fro Freeware Bahamas nscenery! Do you know of any Payware FSX Bahamas scenery ...... ?? David
  13. Hello! ...... my first posting on this Forum ... !! As opposed to freeware Caribbean Scenery by PW SCENERY, anyone know of decent FSX scenery for the Bahamas (payware or freeware!)? Thanks, David
