I'd been meaning to post the concluding parts to my Real Ale Tour but time has simply slipped away, probably under the influence of all the alcohol. The previous leg of the journey had the old caravan at the quite lovely Isle of Islay. The sixth and final leg (but not the final drink) was to be a split journey with a stop off to pick up a couple of crates to stock the cupboards back home. The Journey Continues The Caravan departs EGPI Islay Airport on part one of the homeward journey A mixed bag of weather ahead on the unpredictable West Coast A little company for the journey Cl

Some real nice shots there Alan

Never mind the runway, with the open canopy start in the Spifire the cockpit was like a mini swimming pool

I also like the Carenado aircraft for my GA stuff, I have the F33A Bonanza and C208B Caravan by Carenado. Like yourself I do like the A2A Simulations aircraft, I have the Piper Cub, P-47, Spitfire and B17 and each one is a joy to fly and provides a completely different experience.
-
You are half way there - the A2A Cub is a lovely, simple little aircraft but is so, so much fun to fly. If the test works out ok, splash out on ORBX PNW and go explore

Nice find Tim - amazing story.

Orbx's 1WA6 Fall City to get "VehicleFlow"

You had to "park right in the area he was walking around in" we believe you Graham, I think it more like your sadistic streak coming out -
Well done Charlie - nice video and a lovely aircraft.

Nice shots Jim, good job on the paintwork.

I appreciate what you're going through Jim, the whole scenery thing can be a nightmare when your trying to maximise the eye candy but not suffer a big hit on performance. Personally I just decided which areas I wanted to fly initially so that's how I ended up going down the Photo Scenery route with the Hoirzon packages for the UK and Ireland, throw in the UK2000 Airfields and then Earth Simulations Treescapes and you end up with a superb flying experience. You do however also end up with bulging hard drives and a very low bank balance. I still wonder to this day how I ended up buying FSX for

Superb shots Charlie - hope you enjoy your dabblings with the warplanes
-
Very nice shots - I love the "Looking for the gate" shot - oh where to park!!! :D
-
A big +1 to what everyone else has said. A feast of eye candy - great work.

I know what you mean Joe, they almost look out of place when they aren't flying over the English Channel.

Just a few shots of what turned out to be a rather shorter trip than planned Starting out at CYPU Puntzi Mountain, Canada with the intention of flying the mountains up to CZST Stewart. Unfortunately I became so focused on the views that I forgot to keep an eye on the engine temperatures and had to put the Spitfire down at CYBD Bella Coola. Not convinced I should be flying in this weather! Hmm... still not sure Signs it might clear Into the mountains Clear skies ahead On top of the world!!! Miles of mountains Down for a closer look - should have been watching the engin

Nice shots Tim. What length is each leg of this trip?
-
Briliant shots Soya - the quality is absolutely superb. One question what do you mean when you say "carefully JPG'd"
-
My first entry for this month - scary stuff this lightning!!
-
I must be clearer with my posts Jim - I meant I'm a bit of an A2A fanboy - but if you're also one then welcome to the club The Spitfire is very tail light and has such a narrow undercarriage that it is very sensitive - everything just gently does it and you'll soon be up every time. This is a very helpful video for the cold start-up.

Better late than never but welcome Jim - enjoy your time here at the best flight sim forum there is - happy flying

Super shots Graham - love the last two. Good job mate

REX - question about FSX weather settings
Sabre replied to UKJim's topic in Weather Generation & Textures
Sorry Jim, it's always difficult to pick up peoples understanding so apologies. Something isn't working correctly as that doesn't seem right to me, it sounds like something isn't set correctly. The sky textures set in REX should change with the weather - once the theme is set then it should use the appropriate sky for the weather it finds. Are you sure you have installed the textures theme and saved it. This definitely doesn't happen with my set-up - when it rains the sky is overcast etc etc. I'll take another look when I get back home to my machine. -
Very nice Peter - I was only there on Saturday - a great day out and it seems this scenery does a good job indeed. Thanks for posting.
