An excellent adventutre Loic, really enjoyable to follow with lots of interesting points along the way. Tremendous set of shots really do show off the scenery and aircraft. Great job, look forward to more exploring. Wish I had more time for flying these type of adventures it's what makes FSX so interesting, unfortunately it's silly season at work for me

Absolutely wonderful shots You really must share your settings you seem to get such realistic shade and colour.

Great shots Matt

Great set of shots Paul. Really interesting to see the comparison.

Haha Jim the secret world of the Flight Sim Enthusiast - those undercover purchases are somehow much more exciting You'll love it, Just tell the Mrs that the Cherokee grew up over night Make sure to get Jankees version of G-ASCJ - the devil's in the detail

Another wonderful journey Matt. Loved the points of interest along the way it really adds to the trip. Good decision on the landing attempt, you need to look after that Comanche. All in all a great set of shots that really show off the scenery and the aircraft, thanks for sharing

I must say I'm extremely impressed with the Comanche. I do like A2A products but this is the best yet in my opinion.

Minx's Tours #1 (On the hunt for real ale and eats in Edinburgh)
Sabre replied to hlminx's topic in Flight Sim Adventures
Brilliant Steph, really enjoyed it. I'm pleased you got around to trying out the tour and the Scotland scenery is looking good. Excellent shots, love the ground crew but disappointed as I didn't get the star treatment - must have been the skirt - and I'm not wearing one even in Scotland Watch out drinking cocktails up North mind the natives will be after you -
I decided to take the Comanche sporting a lovely Jankees paint job on a short trip from Dublin International EIDW up to the North into Belfast Aldergrove EGAA. As it turned out it was a bit of a stormy affair. Waiting to leave EIDW The view of Dublin International The clouds gathered And the storm began And the storm continued Escaping the storm Clearing skies and the safe haven at Belfast Aldergrove appeared

I watched them both Peter and they're both very good. I didn't find the music one too far "out there" Thanks for the trip and it's really interesting to see the journey from a different perspective. -
Very good Jim. Good on you for taking the plunge and having a go. Like it seems many others I've never plucked up the courage enough to overcome the nerves/apprehension and/or the worry about messing everything up. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough, well done mate

A great set of shots Jim. Your new purchase certainly looks good

I also wanted to try out the new emoticons but will similarly have to hang my head in shame for missing your birthday by quite some distance Andrew -
Thanks for all the responses, not sure there is a definitive answer given the area variations but at least I have a better understanding now

Leg 4 of the journey would see us moving on quite quickly. There were a series of airshows planned for Armed Forces Day on 27th June 2015 and with some flight restrictions we decided to leave Lydd quite late into the night and fly IFR to Southampton EGHI to see if we could meet up with Joe and Steph for some Boon Doggle and a bite to eat. Given the late hour it would seem that we may be scuppered in our quest for the drink but I'm sure we would muster something up over the next couple of days. The plan was to pick up Seaford (SFD) VOR along the coast and then follow Southampton (SAM) VOR befor

Lovely livery with great shots

Great start Matt looking forward to this trip. Super choice of aircraft too plus a "Thanks Jan" from me too for the excellent paint job. It'll be interesting to see if the plan works out and who you manage to hook up with along the way. Good luck

Is there a definitive guide on the use of lights for GA aircraft? My understanding is below, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Beacon - on prior to engine start and only off when engine off Taxi light - on when aircraft moving in taxi - is this supposed to be turned off if the aircraft is held say awaiting traffic? Off when airbourne, on again when leaving runway at destination? Strobe - on when entering runway and off after leaving runway at destination Navigation Lights - on when starting taxi and throughout flight, off when shutting down? Landing Lights - on when given landing clea

After reading Brett's suggestion I also decided to purchase an ASA Pilot Log to complete manually. At the risk of showing my complete ignorance can someone tell how to fill in the log? Well at least some of it! Aircraft, make, model, ID, departure from to etc all fine (even I worked that out) The next part aircraft category what gets entered in the box for SEL or MEL - simply a tick? Same for piloting time and Conditions of Flight - tick? Apologies in advance
