  1. Fantastic videos, Gareth. Excellent Camera (and editing) work. It's nice to hear the ATC too. Aer Lingus obviously value their flights to Gatwick Cheers George
  2. Good news, Pete! Thanks for letting us know  Cheers George
  3. Definately a well deserved win! Nice one, Gareth! Congratulations to everyone else who took part as well, Cheers George
  4. Hi Mutley, I think you are probably right about the GTX260. It seems to be quite a good card and isn't really all that expensive either (in my budget!) The GTX280/285 would be a good purchase too I think, but since I am going to go for an i7 processor,
  5. Great edit, ros. The reflection work is very well done and little additions (like birds) really bring it to life. My only little nitpick is the right hand side is a tad too bright for my liking, yet it looks great none the less! Cheers, George
  6. Thanks ros. I appreciate the comment! Cheers George
  7. Cheers for all the help, Joe. After researching a little and browsing the net, I have decided to upgrade from a Quad to an i7 processor. Since FSX is more processor reliant, I considered spending more money on CPU Power was a better idea than wasting money on an unnecessarily powerful graphics card. Currently I am looking at buying something along these lines: Processor: Intel Core i7 920 (2.66Ghz) Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 9800GT (1GB) or Nvidia GTX 260 (896mb) Memory: 12GB Corsair DDR III Memory Hard Disk: 2000GB SATA II Seagate Ultra Fast OS: Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (64-bit)
  8. Thanks for the advice, Joe. The graphics card I was thinking of purchasing (Nvidia GTX285) isn't a Dual GPU. Hopefully this means that it will give good performance (just like you mentioned with your 7900 GTX) without having the disadvantage of being a Dual GPU. Will it give slightly better frames than a 512mb graphics card or do you think that there will not be a noticeable difference? Cheers, George
  9. Hi chaps! Within a couple of months, I hope to buy a new computer and upgrade to FSX. From what I have gathered, FSX seems to be more processor reliant. This is what I was thinking of buying for processor and Video card: Processor: Intel
  10. Thanks rob and Kieran! George
  11. I am not really 100% sure what you mean by this. Try putting the MIP Mapping quality to 6,7 or 8 in the Display/Hardware settings in FS. This may fix your problem but can cause sparkling and flickering textures, Cheers, George
  12. There is a very useful freeware program which allows you to see a simplified view of aircraft AI schedules. I cannot remember the name of it, though. I will check on avsim and edit the post if I find it. Once you've added quite a few airlines, some of the busy airports (provided you have added the airlines that operate there), will be very active with traffic with planes wanting to land every couple of minutes. So if it's just them landing you're woried about, once you have added a bunch of flightplans, there should be a fair bit of action visible. I would recommend adding a big airline (lik
  13. Thanks for the kind response, mut. I do appreciate it... Cheers, George
  14. I thought that too. The screenshots definately bug me a little. The fact that there's no anti-aliasing or low resolution or something ... they seem a little lower quality than the other shots that Gary has provided of other addons. I still have this product running in Demo mode. I only have the FS9 version, however, so the whole airport is surrounded by a barren landscape. This means that I'd rather have it up and running on FSX etc. to decide whether or not to make the purchase. For anyone else: More info on this product can be found HERE. Cheers, George
  15. Sorry it's a bit late, Gareth, but I hope you had a great day! Cheers, George
  16. Thank you both for your kind replies. greenk: I'm sorry to say that I can't really help you with FSX issues, because this is FS9 and at the moment I only use FS9. I am getting a new PC (and most likely will update to FSX) within a couple of months, so if you still need help, I might be able to then! Thanks again, George
  17. Hi Guys, I noticed that the A&E has been a bit quiet recently, so I decided to do a (very) short hop across portland. I had planned to do a second leg, but I didn't really have time this evening so perhaps I'll edit the post later on. Anyway, on with the shots ... Legacy 600, taxiing to runway 12 at Portland-Hillsboro airport. Departing. Looking back over the airport. Bit misty up here. Approaching the city. Turning towards Portland-Troutdale. Portland KPDX to the south-west. On finals. Using up all the runway to slow down. And parked up ready for the next
  18. Great shots/videos Gareth. Looks like a nice airfield. I like the top-down views of the airfield too. Oh and love the seagul shot! Cheers, George
  19. Author Gary Summons (Uk2000 scenery) has released the latest addition to his UK 'Xtreme' airports series. Like all of his other Xtreme Products, it is available for both FS9 and FSX. The product features: - High Resolution ground Images - Airport Vehicles - Photo realistic buildings - Realistic ground markings - Night effects - 3D approach lights - Fully AI Compatible - Docking Systems + Interactive air jetties NB: In FSX, the animated jetway is used and can be activated by Ctrl + J. The AES compatible version for FS9 will be available in a few months. Screenshots (direct from UK20
  20. Excellent shots, Sam! I love the way the wingtip covers the sun on the 4th shot. Great angle work, too! Cheers, George
  21. The sky on that first shot looks brilliant. Love the angle of the last shot too! Cheers, George

  23. The last is my favourite too! Cheers, George
  24. Lovely shots, I haven't ever really seen much of the A350. Good luck with the rest of your trip ... looking forward to the next bunch! B) Cheers, George
