Here are my three folks: Two tri-things, BEA from another era - Trident and Ju-52-3/m Next up, the wierd and wonderful Martin XB-51. The third engine is mounted in the tail. Lost out to the Canberra in US trials And finally, an Aeroflot DC-10 taking off from Heathrow for (somehow!) a colder climate Good luck folks! -

Shame you didn't have the gate next to the '380 - that would have been a close comparison! Great shots - which Heathrow scenery is it? -
Now that's being a tad techincal John - afterall, the Wildcat was initally the Marlet in RAF/RN service And I found the picture online. There's a wonderful photo in Eric Brown's "Wings on my Sleeve" of him hovering it with no hands, and of testing something to do with the aerodynamics of the blades - just two people with a big metal tube putting out coloured smoke, with the rotors inches away from the pole - those were the days!

I suspect Eric Brown flew one of these in December 1944, although I'm not sure
