Hi Joe, although ultimately not my decision, i know how much feedback on these topics really helps to make up your mind. Personally, i've experienced the odd occasion where the forum takes a few moments to load, but its not overly bothering, and only ever happens mid-morning and later in the evening, and i expect this to be the case most times. As dave said, i also think it's important to be able to keep the database and files from this forum, else it means starting fresh and loosing an immense amount of fantastic data, let alone the AWTC thread and the events encountered on our travels thu

im at 1280x1024 on a very nice (3 yr old!) 21" CRT - if it aint broke, don't fix it! as for the image sizes, scrolling wasn't a major issue for me, just that fact that i had to. i was more concerned for those with laptop or smaller 17" displays...

some absolute crackers there Martyn, very nice indeed. my only gripe is having to use the sideways scroll facility of my mouse to fit the whole image in... any chance of 800x600 pics for us less fortunate pc/mac owners with smaller screens?
-
here here!! i totally forgot about the Russian FS tzar that is SamDim, excellent choice there Martyn! and another for the list: The 'Project Tupolev' TU154 click the picture to visit the site!

Leg 44. Grand Cayman - Jamaica

all parked up and cold. here the hood's off and we're just tuning up for our quick hop, skip and jump over to Jamaica for a bit of Reggae Relaxation! The TB-21GT has a really light and airy feel to its cockpit thanks to the massive amount of glass surrounding it. Add to this, the very open and spacious looking cokcipit (unlike its Cessna and Piper conterparts), and you have a very nice aircraft to sit in, let alone fly! Just to show you what i mean, here we have the obligatory cockpit shots... The rum's all been loaded up, the baton's safe on board, but where's the pilot!?! Ah, her -
Leg 44. Grand Cayman - Jamaica

hi all, jsut reporting from the apron at Norman Manley Intl. First the good news!.........Both myself and the baton have arrived safe and well!!.... pictures will be up tomorrow evening after i get i from work.... so see you then... ooh, and the bad news..... all my booze got confiscated on parking up. It appears that a feindish member of the ground crew at Own Roberts (MWCR) in Grand Cayman had seen an excessive amount of his favourite produce (Rum, boys and girls, rum!) being loaded into the rear of the aircraft (as ballast you understand!!) and had tipped off the authorities in Jamaica! 3 -

Indeed it is Joe! Its the Socata TB-21GT 'Trinidad', a very aptly named aircraft i think for this, the Carribean Calypso! Heres the AVSim Review and the developers, Lionheart Creations, website. just sorting out the scenery and landclass, and we'll be airborne this evening... expect final call at around 9pm! -
Hi all, Capt. Simi stepping up to the rostrum for Leg 44, hopefully you've all got your boarding cards, as this is the first call to go to your gates, we'll be boarding within the next 24hrs! So get yourselves over there and into the Duty Free before boarding, i hear that Rum of all sorts is going for a pittance! .. EDIT:Here's a few teasers for you... can you guess the aircraft?
-
that'll be an F/A-18 if im not half wrong... right?
-
I agree, some fantastic shots there Joe, i especially like the few you've got of the 4-ship Thunderbird formations... still, nothin' quite like a bit o' the old Red Arrows!! I thought the 'General' forum existed for that stuff, then again i guess Trains, Planes and Automobiles do require their own categorising....

i would have posted all 200 photos taken at Hucknall a few weeks back, but decided against it - gotta think of you poor souls still using 1MB ADSL :shrug_no: anyway, here they are, no commentry unless asked. Bonus points to those naming all the aircraft! So, that was the PFA Hucknall Fly-In / Airday 2007. And now, i present to you the sacred Waddington 2007 Air Show pictures captured on my very short 30 minute walk around the static park on Sunday 1st July before being thrown out of the air field by security following event cancellation!
-
i use a mixture, depending on what aircraft i'm flying... more to the point EJ, did you say FORTY inch monitor!?! :shrug_no:
-
definitely gets my vote Joe. use this feature on a lot of other forums i now frequent. its very hand if you're at work and taking a sneaky peek whilst the boss isn't looking!

i really wish they had done to be honest as the weather was lovely all day. I think there were two or three showers all afternoon! But because of the boggy airfield i think their main concerns were the entrance and exit of visitors to and from the airfield. i'll be pushing for my refund mind you, no way i'm paying £30 for 2 tickets that didn't get used! as for RIAT Mutley, i'll not be attending this year sadly. I am, however going , come hell or high water (very fitting for this months weather!), to be at the very first flight of the restored Vulcan, XH558. Soon as i know when and where it i

just back from Waddo fellas - The RAF are usually an extremely well thought out bunch, but today was an utter farce! Arrived bang on gates opening at 0800, went in and parked up no problems on the air field. Grass a little wet but nothing major, certainly not the 'mud bath' the local news and 'Air Show FM' had reported it as! At 0815 me, with the gaffer and our little one, walked over to the static area's entrance barrier only to be stopped, along with a hundred or so others, by a number of marshalls asking us to return to our cars due to cancellation of the air display. most hung around the

i'd be up for a multiplayer, but only have FS9. I think it fitting that the Airshow, if it went ahead, should take place at Waddington, since this marks the start of the RAF's Airshow season with a huge bang. is there a show of hands? P.S. i'll be flying this DH-110 Sea Vixen in Red Bull livery..

John, im dissapointed in you! Thats no way to talk about our very own Mutley :rofl I have it on good authority that he's fully house trained, brings the slippers and newspaper when master sits down, and even wipes his paws on the mat when coming in from the garden! as for you Theo, the PicooZ should'nt be flown outside... at least that's what my instructions said. But then again, who reads them?
-
take a pinch of... ....and a dash of... .....mix well and give it one of these... ...and also one of these.... ...and you get this!.... The world smallest (and most definitely the most fun) RC gadget ever to grace not only my posession, but also the shelves of any model or toy shop! ] Made by Silverlit and very freely available on eBay (do a search for PicooZ and you'll see what i mean...) for a reasonable price - less than £25 delivered! - I cannot understand why anybody here hasn't got one! go.... what are you all waiting for, get one now!!!!
-
 now, if im not wrong theres either a huge amount of (some very skilled!) PhotoShop-ing.... or you've been taking real world photos and posting them in the wrong forum! some awesome stuff there reef, very tasty!!

erm, in a word no - but Safari 3.0 is still in beta form!! and, as a developer and beta tester through my work asa an Apple Authorised Engineer (yeah i know, shameless plug!) i've already requested this feature, along with a few more... dragging/organising tabs was one i requested way back, and look at this vid (approx 40secs in!) there it is! movable tabs, and new windows from tabs - FireFox cant do that!!.... Oh, and yes, at the moment it does use HUGE resources, but again its Beta, and this will be sorted...after all, it is Apple and they pride themselves on design and ease-of-use!
