  1. Hey Matt, I've been swamped at work lately, and been crashing into bed like a poorly maintained airplane when I get home.. So I haven't been able to let loose my whip on the late PIREPS In case we run into a timing issue with your trip (enjoy mate, i'm not the least bit envious.. no really, not at all ) why don't you do the flights, upload the images and prepare your PIREP in a .txt file, and I can publish them for you when the time comes. Now the get that departure board updated... just need to wait for what seems to be a major Adobe update to install before my computer will let
  2. As most of you probably already have seen ORBX gave my home airport a big face lift earlier this year. Due to lack of flying time I really haven't had time to look at it before now, so here are some of my first impressions shots Approaching from the south Passing west of the airport Terminal 4 (Domestic) by night Terminal 4 (Domestic) by night Sky City, the main (well, only to be honest) passage way from Terminal 5 (International on the left) and Terminal 4 on the right. Among other things there's a nice little Café behind those huge glass windows that makes a nice
  3. It's the miracle of post-production editing
  4. Thanks for the feedback everyone... @Rosario: Good timing on that shot then.. good thing I managed to dip below the clouds at that point as well
  5. Unless you do a clean re-installation of your previous version of Windows... It's just the automatic roll-back feature that disappears after 30 days. That said I'm running FSX (boxed edition) on Windows 10 and have no issues with my Joystick disconnecting, nor any other issues at all that I didn't experience in Windows 7. Although this is a clean Windows 10 installation and not the free upgrade. OOM-issues will not differ between windows 8.1 and windows 10 but are all tied in to your FSX-settings. Lowering the Autogen will help, as will decreasing other settings. Depending on the
  6. Don't think deleting the FSX.cfg file will reset the controls Joe... Those are stored in a separate file, but at the moment I can't remember what it's called...
  7. Well now, I was left with some things to work out. In preparation for my leg I had booked a rental plane using the Hangar Credit card, but as John had managed to get his wallet, with the card in it, stolen during the last leg I had to re-arrange my plans. The rental company was very clear that I had to present the physical card before I could check my plane out, so new plans had to be drawn. Even though Putinfeld appeared to be out of the story for the moment I still was a bit apprehensive about spending additional time in Crotone considering John's entanglement with the Cosa Nostra. I
  8. Great fun was had today, now I just hope I can turn that temporary file from FS recorder into something useful, or we might need to do a re-take from Biggin Hill
  9. Wasn't the consensus that they should be called ankles??
  10. Hello Wil, As Joe said in the Key dates topic those dates are the deadline for when you need to submit your PIREP, if you wan't to fly them all today that's completely up to you...
  11. Considering the time of year and the late hour it would most likely have been complete darkness up there. And considering the rural location there would be very few, if any, lights on the ground to use as indication of a nose down attitude as well. The fact that the Cavalry charge alarm for Autopilot disconnect sounded for 18 seconds indicate an automatic disconnect of the autopilot due to conflicting data from the 2 IRS-systems as far as I've understood (after a manual disconnect the alarm silence itself after a few seconds) so something seems to have gone wrong with one of those. Ea
  12. Also, if you are flying one of the planes I've got but using a livery that is not included in the original installation let me know where to find it so I can install it!
  13. If it's in the same package it should be there... Probably just my tired eyes last night that missed the fact that there were both MK IX and MK XIV available..
  14. Perfect mate, I've done it before but always forget how to do it right And that position matrix was good info, haven't seen that before!
  15. Indeed.. But I do wonder why they feel that the FDR readout for the roll angle are wrong but not the read-out for the Ailerons and Spoilerons since the aileron position corresponds with the continuous left roll displayed on the Roll Angle.. although it doesn't explain how the plane managed to turn 75 degrees to the right from the original course, so I assume that is why the investigators feels that the readout doesn't match the events... But the really interesting bit is the Pitch angle that makes no sense at all, it indicates a strong pitch up movement right before the captain rea
  16. I still owe you a list of planes in my Hangar that if possible you should try to aim for (or at least something similar). What I've got other than the default planes that are good options for sundays flight is: Alabeo C400 Corvalis Flight 1 Beechcraft B200 RealAir Beechcraft Duke B60 (Version 2, but version 1 will work if you've only got that one. Turbine versions should be good too even if it's not in my hangar) Carenado Beechcraft B1900D Carenado Cessna C208 Carenado SR22 Carenado TBM850 MilWiz Cessna 310R (I'm leaning towards using this one) Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang Lionhear
  17. At a press conference today the Swedish Accident Investigation Atuhority released their preliminary findings into the accident. I've read the report, found at the link below, but sadly for most others here it's in Swedish only. Although there are some Graphs of a select few FDR-paramaters and a transcript of the final 2 minutes of the CVR recording at the end that is mostly understandable for you all. That transcript just highlights how quickly the events unfolded. http://www.havkom.se/assets/reports/SRL-2016_01.pdf AVHerald posted a good summary of the report on English as well. http://av
  18. Nag dang it John.. how am I now supposed to pay for my rental plane!!!
  19. Oh my John.. for the first time in 6 trips around the world someone have managed to brake the baton... It's been lost, stolen and suffered emergency landings on both solid ground and in water.. but no one has managed to break it!! This I'm afraid will be a permanent point on your ATWC record. Now make sure you fix that thing up with something more classy on less obvious than Gaffer tape before I come pick it up, we don't want to upset Joe now do we And considering Putinfeld is still on the lose I'm sure he will have manged to get his crew back up and running again by the time ATWC 7
  20. ehmm.. that second leg you got requires something with a MTOW of 7000 lbs or more Matt... just saying... Still, you need to be able to get it out of that airport as well
  21. Oh my, what's happened to Sharon!!! Last time I saw her she was as happy as a bunny setting up a climbers retreat with my old pal Al.... I almost thought they had a thing going!!! Great flight and shots mate, and thanks for your big contribution to the ATWC!! As for the song/artist I wont say more than **cough, cough** remember to alter the filename mate **cough, cough** Although as it was coming from you I would have guessed a different band if I hadn't seen that clue
  22. Hi Matt. I think you're getting your time zones mixed up, it should be Sunday morning in California, not Monday morning! (unless the state of California suffers from a major earthquake, breaks free from mainland USA and drift far out into the Pacific ) Although I fully understand how difficult it would be for you to join us due to the time differences I also know that the majority of those that join in on these events are based in Europe, and that they have other commitments on Saturdays, so Sundays means a greater chance of a big group joining in.
