Thanks for sharing Martin, will have to grab the SP and try the Hawk again as I was far from impressed with the initial release. Mainly due to the flight dynamics naturally, but also due to the fact that I had to change my controller settings to fly it since it wasn't possible to control the Throttle with an axis bound to Engine #1, it had to be bound to the general Throttle axis that control all Throttles from the same axis! It's with planes using this method of steering on the ground that having rudder pedals with toe brakes really shines! With that setup controlli

Sadly won't be attending this year either. Whilst I had a blast last year hanging around the Mutleys stand it was an exhausting trip from Stockholm via Hamburg to Birmingham, plus other commitments have eaten up the funds Visiting Legoland with a 6-year old Legoholic but a big dent in the bank account, but seeing his eyes shine when we got there was well worth it

Great shots Wayne.. The lights in the night shots are really good looking! That, plus those green numbers in the top left corner that are a real give away!

Southwest Flight Lands Safely After Major Engine Malfunction
stu7708 replied to allardjd's topic in Real World Aviation
I'd agree with you if it had been Engine #2, but those locks on engine #1 should be easily spotted from the front entrance, given that there were windows facing towards the rear of the plane on a connected Jetway. So unless checking those aren't part of the SOP for the walk around it should have been spotted in my mind. -
Aerosoft have it in stock, not sure what the shipping to the UK would end up costing you though! http://en.shop.aerosoft.com/eshop.php?action=article_detail&s_supplier_aid=11907&s_design=DEFAULT&shopfilter_category=Flight Simulation&s_language=english

Ohh. A Swedish one as well... That I will need to grab asap!! Thanks Jankees!

Southwest Flight Lands Safely After Major Engine Malfunction
stu7708 replied to allardjd's topic in Real World Aviation
From AVHerald.com "The airline reported the captain decided to divert the aircraft to Pensacola due to a mechanical issue with the #1 engine" Sorry Matt, but I'm going to have to decline your nomination for understatement of the year you awarded me last week and hand it over to Southwest Airlines. There are three more images available over on AVHerald, including on of the damage done to the main fuselage. http://avherald.com/h?article=49d2d7e3&opt=0 -
I read somewhere, a Swedish tabloid most likely, that what set this incident off was that it came into contact with either a telephone line or pole (can't remember right now).. So as you say, that thing in any sort of wind must be a huge no go!

Good thing it didn't feel like getting airborne again after bouncing off the ground.. Looking at the state of the flight deck I seriously doubt they had any functioning controls left to work with!!

To echo what Matt said, Heathrow and the London area are notorious for OOMs even in default scenery, and with an add-on airport on top of that you really need to juggle those FSX-settings to find the sweet spot. On the positive side that area was where I found adjusting the water complexity down a notch or two helped alot with memory usage, although that was with FTX England installed. But it might be worth a try. And, as Matt also said, details are essential when asking for support. Without enough to go on those trying to provide an answer can only throw out guesses really... hope

Some general pointers since I have no idea what kind of add-ons you're running Dial down your graphics- and Auto-gen settings.. Depending on where you fly start with the water complexity, that apparently eats memory based on previous personal experience.. And if you are using REX textures for your clouds re-render your theme with a lower resolution..

Just saw this and can shed some lights. John got already got AD covered, and the pressure stuff I have no idea on. As for the 46 G 2743 bit John and Brett combined gives the answer. Width, Grooved (x for ungrooved) and finally available landing distance. So that leaves me with the 60 HL/15 HL bit. It's type of lights and Spacing for edge- and centerline lights respectively.. Types are H (high), M (medium), L (low), HL (variable High to Low) or ML (variable Medium to Low). If you need more information on reading the LIDO-ch

Thanks for the answer Jane, Since I'm not at all up and running on VATSIM and proper procedural flying (I blame the rest of Mutleys Crew for the last bit) the second option sound tempting. As I live but a 10 minute drive from Arlanda any event out of there is tempting to join in, and if it's for a good cause all the better. Kind regards Micke

After dwelling deeper into their site I assume the flights will be made on VATSIM considering they are listed as partners...
-
Hmm.. I do wonder what kind of multiplayer interface they will be using, considering it will support both boxed and Steam edition of FSX... Will they go the VATSIM route, or something completely different... Might look into flying the Stockholm-Helsinki flight...

Dovetail Games Joins Forces With Boeing
stu7708 replied to mutley's topic in News and Press Releases
I'd say one reason for this is a very strict policy pushed on to dovetail by Steam... I seem to recall something posted by Aerosoft about a need for a license agreement with each individual airline to be allowed to include their livery in products sold through Steam... -
Could it be that the installation of REX also tries to install a version of .NET that won't run on a 64-bit version of Windows?? Just a shot in the dark here, but I'm pretty sure REX needs .NET version 4.5

That autogen engine almost seems to good to be true!! If it works as advertised I guess the only limitation is the quality of the data in OpenStreetMap... -
Happy Birthday Boss!!! @SEATAC: According to facebook he's been flying a full motion 737 simulator today.. and he claims no one died.. so I'm guessing he's enjoying himself immensely...

Multiplayer with Lewis Bloomfield from A2A - On the Stream tonight
stu7708 replied to UKJim's topic in Screenshots
By the way, how do you experience the update rates in FsCloud? I seem to recall testing it about a year ago and found that I had a rather severe delay of about 1 minute of where I saw others compared to where they were on their computer at the time... -

Looks good Jim, but for this flight you really should have picked a plane from RealAir Simulations just for the heck of it -
Looks good Jess.. Still downloading at home to give it a try on a proper computer.. will probably take most of tonight as well...

Hello Fellow Hangarians. A couple of weeks back my installation of Ultimate Traffic 2 started acting up for me. Whenever I started FSX, or tried to run the configuration utility for UT2 it claimed it wasn't registered despite it having worked flawlessly since my computer upgrade in November. Turns out Windows Defender had classified the .dll file (utii.dll) needed to confirm the registration as a Trojan and moved it to quarantine. After several fruitless attempts over the last weeks to resolve the issue I finally managed to sort it out last night, and in cas

Yep, full screen mode can be activated in the same way as in FSX - CTRL+ENTER Did a quick test at work, and considering the specs of my computer here it looked OK, but the GFX card isn't really up to scratch... and neither are my skills at flying with only keyboard controls
-
I assume it's possible to run it in full screen mode if one wants to, and don't have something else running on a second monitor that one needs to/wants to see. And even if that's not possible the bottom one is possible to get rid of by "Auto Hiding" the start menu in windows...
