OzWookiee's Flight Adventure (Pic Heavy)
Corsaire31 replied to OzWookiee's topic in 2017 Screenshots
Nice flights, thks for sharing. Having flown myself through most of South America in GA Planes ( Aeropostale 2015 - Recife down to Ushuaia and Buenos Aires to La Paz across the Andes - and Down the Amazona 2016 ) I totally agree there are incredibly beautiful places ! -
Hi all ! After I had to drop out of the second part of my Australia tour last winter due to lack of time, I'm back in the air... With the return of beautiful days, I decided I would this summer explore in depth the coast of PNW and the Tongass Fjords where I installed most of Return to Misty Moorings stuff over the years. To take my time looking at things and to land on small lakes and rivers, I chose to do it in an Ultra Light with floats from where I can really enjoy the scenery ( I've also sometimes done parts of it on the water with my Malibu fast boat..

Special Moments in Flight Sim.

Like Joe, probably my first long VFR flight in a plane with no GPS, and using Plan G as a map only ( not connected so I don't have my real time position ) It was so rewarding to get where I wanted that I never re-connected since then on my VFR flights ... and managed to cover most of South America in my Aeropostale flights with no-GPS planes. And certainly my first night cargo IFR flight in a BN2 Islander, wondering on start how I would find the runway at destination among all these city lights. Since then I've flown tons of these and also love flying at night ... -

Alabeo releases Cessna C 310 R : http://www.alabeo.com/index.php?accion=product&correl=128 I already have a good freeware, but I might be tempted, can't resist to a Cessna ! -
I also fly often in windowed mode with Plan G ( not connected either to do some VFR navigation ) or FS Commander ( on IFR flights ) on a second monitor, but I use FSX Borderless to have a full screen image. On my PC I have a higher frame rate in full screen than in windowed mode, even on a single monitor... Go figure !
-
Nice report and pics ! I'm always surprised to see people can fly inside a windows frame with the FS menu and all this red text on screen. For me it's a total immersion killer...

Version 2.0 of the Cessna 337 just been updated to version 2.1 NEW VERSION 2.1 C337H SKYMASTER HD SERIES FSX/P3D Changelog: - Internal and external lights corrected - Now reads LDG instead of LOG - Tooltips adjusted - Now lights illuminates the ground - Fixes a problem that causes trim indication to disappear on GTN version - ADF issue (GTN version only) fixed - Door texture (GTN version) corrected. -
For me it's interesting news, being a GA flyer only and sitting on the fence to replace my FSX Gold one of these days ( and being in no hurry as it works fine ). I bought FSX Steam when it was 5 $ so it won't be a great sacrifice if I ditch it ( until now used it 10 minutes to check if it worked ) 64 bits and ORBX/A2A stuff are surely good points for this newcomer, might jump in the early access if price is reasonable.

This one is for Matt, another dive bomber to deliver frozen fish... -
Here is the return flight : Holding short at Perpignan-Rivesaltes LFMP runway 33 Approaching Agen LFBA, a good reference point is the Golfech nuclear power plant Clearing after a greaser landing on ILS runway 29 Going to sleep, plane will be ready for my local pilot tomorrow morning.
-
Nice pics ! I kinda like the idea of delivering frozen fish direct to the customer with a dive bomber, no need to waste time at the airport ...
-
Thks guys ! Doing the return flight by night, might post a couple of pics.

Great weather today for a short haul from Agen LFBA to Perpignan LFMP Departing with haze between Agen and Toulouse - IFR flight 6000 ft. It clears up shortly after Toulouse as we're heading SW ( I've flown nearly above my house... ) Closing on the Pyrénées mountains ATC takes me down to 4900 ft just over the mountain as we start our last turn near the spanish border to land at LFMP runway 33 - ILS and 9 knts crosswind. Parked and ready to unload the freight after a 70 mns f

Great pics Dolf. For a time I had started an AH company for flying in winter, based in Marie Galante. But after a couple of months I got tired of island hopping and always flying above the empty water. Now that I have all the AI boats traffic installed, maybe I should try again !

Great news for the UK. Since Airbus already spends annually around 4 billion GBP with UK suppliers, you will have the best of both worlds. ( Although we don't know what it will be in 2 years from now when the Brexit is done, following what will be negociated in the meantime )

Either for my Air Hauler flights or for my adventure trips in different places of the world, I tend to organize flights between 1h and 1h30 plus planning time ( although I had sometimes to put up with longer stages as there was no closer airfield on the way... ) If the plane has an autopilot and I have a good book in my hands, it's not a problem. Unfortunately the longest ones were mostly above some desertic landscapes with old-time airplanes needing a hand on the stick ! Since most of the time these flights take place in the afternoon while the missus is at work, or at night when she's s

Glad to welcome a fellow countryman, I lived in Hyères myself a couple of years, so La Moutonne sounds familiar. ( Content d'accueillir un compatriote, j'ai moi même vécu à Hyères deux ans, et je connais La Moutonne ) -

And to finish with, a picture today of the plane I'm flying at the moment, Albatros DII from Jasta 4 based in Roupy, Somme. We are end of October 1916 and Oberleutnant Arndt von Treppen has a record of 27 missions and 20 air victories. I'm using an external addon program called PWCG ( Pat Wilson's Campaign Generator ) which generates more historical missions than the vanilla game, and where you can parameter everything. For each nation involved I'm flying a war campaign from 1916 to 1918 ( we don't have early war planes in Rise of Flight ) for a specific unit - at the
