Not sure where to ask this, so sorry if it's in the wrong place..... I understand how they are done and where we go and download but can someone please explain the benefits of keeping them updated...I dont really get it as how does the sim change? is it addons that change? do I need to keep the sim updated to fit with devs releasing addons that are more current?...is it more relevent to my Airliners than my GA stuff? sorry if this sounds an odd question but I have always been confused.com by this.... thanks Wayne

not sure why, may just be that the sims use differnet resources and FSX is more CPU orientated....one click is great....

had XP in windowed mode and was actually doing some work and just kept dropping back into it and randomly changing things, it was mainly to check for these CTD's after 2 hours.....

Looking to get this, any XP'ers out there have any feedback on the tutorials? seems this plane has a built in system that helps you learn, is it any good? Have QW757 in FSX but would like one for XP, missing my 737 that Xaviation dont seem to want to activate since my system upgrade, 2 weeks now..... Thanks Wayne

Just randomly flying around, one or two on Xplane forum have said they get CTD's after 2 hours of flight, yesterday I put this one up for about 3 hours, juast random flying using AP changing direction and altitude, all fine...so many variables with peoples installs and plugins etc let alone their PC configuration..... really do like this plane... Default XP11 except the AC which is Carenado, all the text and numbers can be removed but as this is BETA I like to keep them there, stuff at the bottom is a LUA script line that can be removed too....

did a bit of testing, my Mobo lets my OC the 6600k from 3.5 to 4.2 with just one click....seems to add fps but all running and stable, noticed that XP10 the CPU goes upto 44 degrees when CPU is clocked however fsx goes to 54 degrees, running not clocked both are between 36 & 40, my system is liquid cooled....I was just surprised at how much higher it went with fsx... unclocked now back to 3.5 and all running smooooth...

i tend to fly real time and always real weather, however if its dark in UK and I fancy a day flight I tend to fly in another part of the planet... yep very pleased, cant wait to get back in the bus however I feel the issues with Xaviation may mean I will no longer have a737..live n learn as they say....

Just a short haul from Bristol to Orly, XP10, Carenado AC....enjoy the trip.... early start(for a sunday)...ready for the off.. climbing, slowly... we can see the city lights in the distance... love it when the sun is just coming through... just nearing the south coast.... gear down, not far now... almost there..... all done, just the paperwork to do...

cheers Phil, yeah they are very slow.....Xenviro seems very expensive and its still getting mixed reviews...I will wait a while on this one....

Well I have got my rig up and running, installed all the essentials I use for the office, now installing sims and games.....XP10/11 is very easy as it is on another drive to OS and doesnt play with the windows reg...just have to reactivate any licenced stuff, however as Xaviation are taking an age to get back I needed some other addon to get rid of the default clouds...this is a freeware app just 2 LUA lines, one in Modules and one in scripts, so technically they are the default clouds still but I think they look quite good...I have it in windowed mode as I am still checking how the new CPU is

I think you are correct, I actually lost a set of keys the other day, worked out I threw them in the bin......
