That's not Rockall, it's Napoleon's Piano...

Micke is correct. use ipconfig to get the ip address if you don't know it. It needs to go in both simconnect.xml and the connection dialog. Details are all in the manual.

Chrome is nice; I like Chrome. I like Safari too. There's so little actual 64-bit stuff for Windows, despite it having been a 64-bit OS for, how many years? This is one place where I think MS really should take a leaf out of Apple's book and quickly deprecate older architectures.

Look here: http://www.storagesearch.com/ssdmyths-endurance.html The worked example, using older tech, shows that writing the SSD continuously at full pelt using a 'rogue realtime data logger', it would take 51 years before it's trashed. It will certainly outlive your PC. My experience with conventional mechanical drives is that they typically fail after 3-4 years. Also, current gen RAID controllers allow TRIM with RAID 0. (big RAID arrays of SSDs are now commonplace in the movie industry, for direct recording of camera output, for one example)

Yes, you wold need a crossover cable (TX <--> RX instead of TX <--> TX ) if you were to plug directly from one to the other. Normally the crossover happens inside the hub/switch/router. I think there's a service running in Windows that handles IPv4 local address allocations in a DHCP-like way (unless you've disabled it), or you could use IPv6, which has a unique link-local address tied to the hardware.

Plan-G folder. Did you set up the correct ip address in the connection dialog and Simconnect.xml?
-
Yup If you listen to this month's hangarcast, I give a rundown of most of what's in it.

The film is not showing anywhere near me, unfortunately (it was only launched on limited release in the UK last week). All the cinemas are blocked up with MIB3, Snow White and Prometheus, and nothing interesting can get a look in...

Happy birthday Joe (late as ever )

It's much more specific than that. Slaughtermen and slaughterhouses produce meat specifically for human consumption, whereas a knacker (I never heard of them being called knackermen) works in a Knacker's Yard, which is a rendering plant for producing glue, fertiliser and 'dog food' (i.e. not fit for human consumption), and typically using tired, old horses. Knacker's Yard is also used as a general reference to the last resting place for anything broken & worn out. Anything that ends up in the knacker's yard is, of course, knackered.
