  1. It's a treat, it really is, and even though it's one of their smallest regions, what they've done with it makes you feel you should have paid twice the price.
  2. Is that where they put a battery in your left hand and a light bulb in your right, and see how bright it glows?
  3. Stay away from the pea soup if it's green --- they make it from bogeys.
  4. We're recording it this weekend. Should be out shortly thereafter. February was rather busy and we didn't manage to get everyone together.
  5. Chocolate coating will turn it into a Bounty Bra....
  6. I saw the reports of the storms in the paper. At least 30 dead they were saying. Nasty.
  7. To be fair, they don't exactly go out of their way to make the option obvious... Haven't tried it, but I wonder if you can push the plane in Walk mode (the A5 anyhow -- the Stearman may be too heavy for one person to push) I think I'm going to trademark that phrase!! LOL
  8. The option to change install location is right there on the first installer screen, so I don't know how you didn't see it. I installed mine to D:\MSFlight. I needed to go into Settings and configure my CH yoke and pedals, since the default settings didn't make much sense. I haven't configured the Saitek TQs since there doesn't appear to be support for multiple engine controls right now (the only planes available are single engine too) I've only gone through the first few tutorial missions, which I'd regard as fair. I was never a big fan of missions in FSX, so I can't really compare them. But
  9. Free download of the MS Flight base pack?
  10. Today's strip is from Timaru to Omarama, by way of Oamaru. We've got a nice plane for the trip Well, you've got to, eh! Remember this river, we'll be following it later low approach... everyone likes a Spitfire flypast! … and go around The Clutha River is the largest by volume in New Zealand, and also the swiftest. Here it shows the braiding typical of the region. In the upper reaches, there are a number of dams. These generate hydro power. We'll take a close look at them Landing at Omarama
  11. There's nothing like aiming at the runway! (and *that's* nothing like aiming..... )
  12. Didn't say I got arrested! Just got pulled over. It was a Friday night & I was on the way back to my motel after a pleasant meal at a restaurant in Tauranga Beach. For some reason the rozzers were out in force and pulling people over left, right and centre... This was 2006.
  13. Plan-G will tell you - if you are connected to FS, hover the mouse over the plane you're interested in, and its details will pop up, including its flight plan. Been to Tauranga, btw.... only place in New Zealand I got stopped by the police!
  14. I'd be happier to fly in one of those than even the tiniest helicopter... Airliners, even the ugly ones, fly by well known and safe principles of lift vs weight vs thrust vs drag, whereas helicopters fly by scaring the c**p out of the ground, and it's only a matter of time before the ground gets its courage back...
  15. For 29th February only ALL REX products are on sale at half price! http://realenvironmentxtreme.com/

    Good aviation books

Not particularly aviation, but I've just picked up a copy of "Listening to Britain: Home Intelligence reports on Britain's Finest Hour--May to September 1940", Ed. Paul Addison and Jeremy A. Crang From May to September 1940, a period that saw some of the most dramatic events in British history -- including the evacuation of Dunkirk, the Battle of Britain and the opening stages of the Blitz -- the Ministry of Information eavesdropped on the conversations of ordinary people in all parts of the United Kingdom and compiled secret daily reports on the state of popular morale. Edited and introduced
  17. Maybe he meant 40 million passengers?
