  1. So the drives definitely failed?Bad news and very bad luck if you've lost two drives
  2. Windows update?I know the windows update KB2670838 associated with IE10 and IE11 messes up IL2 Cliffs of Dover completely hence I changed to Chrome.
  3. Thanks John and Steph, pleased you enjoyed it. It's certainly vintage but probably still my most favourite time in FSX. I just love what you can do with FSX with a little imagination and a virtual world. Plus the virtual beers still leave you fresh the next morning. I've considered a couple of variations on a theme for future adventures Cider around the south and south west plus more Real Ales around northern England. Time will tell as something different might be in order. @Steph would be good to see the steps retraced with ORBX Scotland
  4. Interesting as I thought the same Matt but when I tried it in IE11 nothing happens at all. I'll try Chrome when I get in as work only has IE11 available. Strange one
  5. The only thing I've had an issue with but you don't mention it in your post is the UK2000 Newcastle Extreme airport I have keeps moving around the scenery library. I have to keep moving it above the ORBX scenery as every now and again it drops down the list for some reason. If my memory serves you have Manchester, so you may have to check that.
  6. Not sure what's going on there Jim. I have 64 bit Windows 7 also and I uninstalled the earlier version I had before installing the latest one and it works without these issues you seem to be seeing. I assume you've checked all the file locations are setup correctly - not sure that would make any difference, just a thought really.
  7. Excellent start Jim, really enjoyed that. A great little aircraft for the tour and a lovely set of shots
  8. Well you can't really go wrong with DCS aircraft, they are pretty much all very good. DCS lacks in the flying environment department, hence everyone is awaiting DCS World 2 but it's not happening any time soon. A lot of people don't like flying WW2 aircraft in the modern environment. As to where to start well my advice would be to make some choices 1. Planes or Helicopters - the Huey is excellent if you go Heli route 2. Pick an era - WW2, Cold War or Modern Jets - P 51 for me (the 109 is very difficult to fly initially) the Dora is also good. Cold War I like the Sabre bet you can't work out
  9. Hello James and to Mutley's Hangar I don't believe that the mission and lessons will be available as the two instances of FSX are separate. One of the other guys may know if there's a way of moving some files. With regard to DCS you can no longer move standalone modules purchased from Eagle Dynamics into the Steam version. You can do it the other way though
  10. Excellent work there Andrew, nice that you gave Crash 'n Trash Cargo back up and running. These hauling companies certainly have many trials and tribulations. Really enjoyed the update, plus some lovely shots
  11. to Mutley's Hangar Pete. Hope you have a long and happy stay
  12. Wonderful job (again) You have a rare talent sir A special thank you for G-ASCJ, excellent work
  13. As Brett says you should be good with the order you posted. ORBX invariably sets itself correctly and I had no problem installing FS Global after the ORBX scenery. Just remember to run AEC in Vectors after you've installed to sort out any elevation issues. Good luck
  14. Short answer - yes The slightly longer answer as above It's definitely worth getting Paul - without question their best product to date. Having said that, I still find it difficult to choose which of the A2A aircraft I should get out of the hangar when I fancy a trip. Staying with the Skylane for this adventure though.
  15. After a few days relaxing aboard a lovely little boat on the Norfolk Broads it was time to move on further South. Over a few "Badgers" at the Bear and Bells the Squadron Leader and I decided to reconnoiter around a few of the old locations of World War 2 airfields around the South East of England. With this in mind we would follow the coast down towards Southend before heading East towards Margate, from there we would turn South towards Dover and then carry on until we reached Lydd. We wondered how many we would be able to pick out along the journey. We had originally planned the journey IFR
  16. I think part of it is that it isn't too unrealistic either, therefore the autogen trees and buildings become more attractive. I have all the Horizon UK photoscenery and all the UK ORBX scenery but currently use ORBX. Each has its merits but the autogen sways it for me, at least at present.
  17. Brilliant Loic, many thanks for the ride. Absolutely love the journey, great updates with excellent shots
  18. Thanks Jim I love the Cherokee, trouble is I like the Skylane and the Comanche just as much. It's a real difficult choice which one to get out of the hangar when you want to fly
  19. Well it seems Inverness in Scotland's where it's all happening. Honestly Joe these shots were taken on Saturday on a flight from EGPE Inverness down to EGEO Oban (in my opinion one of the prettiest outlooks there is from an airport) Taxiing at EGPE Inverness The view towards the City of Inverness Over Fort William The view down into the wonderfully named Ardmucknish Bay View of EGEO Oban North Connel Close up view of EGEO Oban North Connel and Connel Bridge All secured for the day
  20. Very nice Joe, thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Super shots throughout the journey
  21. Very nice video Peter. Really enjoyed it, it was good to see the journey from a different perspective. The scenery looked very nice too
  22. to Mutley's Hangar Hope you have a long and enjoyable stay. Happy landings
