Thanks for all the kind words, it's really good to be back. After what seemed like endless tweaking it was nice to just climb into the virtual cockpit and just fly. Absolutely loved it. I've never really thought of the Around The World Challenge, I've no idea why. I'll look into what's involved as long as you'll let a new guy loose on one of the legs. Regarding the ORBX England scenery, it's early days but so far I've no regrets about changing from the Horizon Photoscenery, it just feels it has more life when GA flying. You're spot on about the repaints, Ron Attwood does a brilliant job.

Yes you need to run the fixer again. It will prompt you that it's out of date, just update the database, it only takes a couple of minutes. If you are running ORBX Global Vectors you'll also need to run AEC in case of any level problems.

Very nice shots Alan. Plus one for the Huey lookalike calls

Absolutely superb set of shots Brett.

Just a few shots from my first non-tinkering, non-fiddling flight since my return to FSX. This was just a plain and simple VFR flight from Newcastle to Carlsile folowing the A69 all the way across. I wasn't sure I would make it with the weather closing in - ASN really does give you accurate weather - very windy and low cloud. As well as ASN I'm using DX10 fixer, REX 4 textures, Soft Clouds, ORBX England Scenery with UK2000 Extreme EGNT Newcastle. Oh and of course the wonderful A2A Cessna 182. G-AZNO Newcastle GA Parking Anothher busy day for taxi Hexham and the A69

They show up very nicely indeed Matt. Superb set of shots and the sale scenery's looking good.

Superb adventure Loic, some really nice shots. Excellent work, keep it up.

That's a very nice paint scheme too, didn't really notice it in the first few shots.

A couple of lovely shots there Jim

what weather addon combinations are you all using these days?
Sabre replied to UKJim's topic in Weather Generation & Textures
I just changed to ASN with Rex4 textures and Soft Clouds. In my opinion from what I've seen so far ASN is better than the REX weather engine. -
My FS Global 2010 dvd's arrived today in their nice box. However, there is also another disc called Aerodrome Flattening Meshes AFM. The manual seems to suggest you run it if needed but this seems strange to me! When I look online the AFM download version has a warning saying it isn't compatible with FTX Vectors which I already have installed. Does anyone know if I'm should be using this AFM software?

Great PIREP Micke, some excellent shots. Definitely need a visit to the maintenance hangar though

Excellent shot. My Dad was also in the Merchant Navy, he sailed South American Saint Line on the St Thomas and St Essylt.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Plenty of options to consider. Cheers Graeme

Great flight Alan, some really nice shots

As title suggests I just wondered if there are any useful apps you can use in conjunction with FSX. A quick look in the AppStore shows a few but I'm not sure how useful any of them are. Does anyone use an iPad in conjunction with FSX?

Cheers Brett got it one, all sorted now

I've downloaded John's airport diagrams for the UK but I can't work out how to link them in Plan G. when I try to set the file path from Plan G it's looking for a read-me file type which I can't change. I know I'll be missing something obvious but can someone point me in the right direction please.

Thanks Matt/Joe I just thought I was missing something. I should have known things would have changed. Something else to think about plus now I've been on their site I see something called Soft Clouds, is that something to look at?
-
I have REX Essentials and Overdrive and I'm sure it's just me missing something but I can't see anything about "burned in patterns" in the manual or in the configuration. I had already set the DX10 options but Im still lookng to find a nice looking wave animation that's best with DX10.

Very nice picture. Which setting did you change in REX and what options do you have selected for the sea, it looks very realistic.
