After all my hardware issues I'm now about ready to re-install FSX. I just wondered if there's anything to watch out for? I'm sure I've read some stuff about not installing too much scenery at one time and running FSX in between installs - just not sure! Any tips from folks who have undertaken fresh installs. Does anyone know where REX themes are saved? I was hoping I may still have them somewhere as I had all my FSX related stuff on a separate drive to my OS Drive. Cheers Graeme

"SAD Update" Well the sorry tale continues. All SAD business remains suspended and staff are on extended leave. The Police investigations into the computer systems failures at Corpoarte HQ, Skagit Regional have not found any signs of foul play. It would appear alll birds have flown the nest and the Clowns have teamed up with the elephants and ran away with the Circus. Despite attempts to get the SAD business systems up and running theer are still no signs of the doors re-opening any time soon. Extensive changes have been made to PC hardware and the system software has been fully re-install

Thanks James I've ordered the Saitek Pro Flight Switch Panel as a start to the development. I think the Multi Panel will be next although I may go for a second throttle quadrant

New motherboard etc arrived yesterday so should be finished connecting it up tonight at some point, then I have to pray that Win 7 does its stuff and picks up OS. With a fair wind and a lot of luck SAD may be taking to the sky later on tonight - having said that the luck I'm having currently I wouldn't be at all surprised if the only thing I haven't changed (GFX Card) is goosed as well!! :cray: On the up side if all goes well I'm looking forward to seeing how FSX performs with i7 CPU and 8GB RAM - might even get to crank up settings at my ORBX airfields :clapping:

SAD Press release "SAD would like to formally record their appreciation of the very kind offer from So High to utilise their facilities. However the CEO of SAD will be politely declining the offer and giving all staff a well earned break. SAD have progressed a long way in a short time and contrary to reports in some quarters does not have any outstanding debt." Nice update Brett glad you're back hard at work again.

Wow James That's one very, very nice setup you have there - very jealous indeed. Looks like I need to seek further investment funds "The Wifey Bank" What size monitors are they and how have you catered for all the usb devices? I suppose I have the beginnings with the yoke, stick and pedals though I'd love to be able to have them both setup.

Superb update as always Mike. Just remember that the Police investigation into the shenanigans at SAD are still ongoing There's also now an Internal Financial Audit being undertaken by Mrs SAD given it seems that the company insurance doesn't cover replacement PC parts

Don't know if there's a future in these "Rotariums" -
I must say I do like the look of the Saitek panels. Do they work with all aircraft I watched a review on YouTube that suggested they do not work with some payware products. Mind given my impending hardware expenditure these may have to wait. Who knows my lottery numbers may come up at the weekend

I fixed it now :D

I missed that pun opportunity so I'm going to blatantly edit my post - cheers James

"Very Very SAD Update" Well what can I say a very sorry tale indeed. All SAD business is suspended pending Police investigations into the apparently malicious attack on the computer sustems at their Corpoarte HQ at Skagit. Police and Fire Services were called to the premises late last night after the Cleaner discovered the smoking computer in the SAD control room. The Police have refused to rule out fowl play and are looking into suggestions that it may be just someone clowning around. All aircraft are grounded and staff have been given an extended vacation after they have all been interv

LOL too right - I'm pretty much in the lap of the Win 7 gods assuming I get sorted with the hardware - hopefully the SAD Phoenix will rise from the ashes of the fired motherboard. Back on topic I suspect So High can only get "so high" after all - must be a "Limited" Company :D :D

Thanks for all the input gents. It's a very confusing business all this hardware stuff, matching this with that and so on At the minute for shear ease and simplicity I'm probably more inclined towards a bundled deal even though as pointed out it's the more expensive route. A few things are swaying me at the minute, the first being the 12 month collect and return warranty and second the fact they are already overclocked and third I don't have the stress of matching up the items. Decisions, decisions I know it's not rocket science, it just feels like it
