  1. I want my water sorting out in P3D before I get anything else
  2. I doubt that we will see a 64 bit version of P3D any time soon, Tom. Version 2.5 is apparently scheduled to be released at some point in the first quarter of 2015, and that's the one I am interested in
  3. That is very surprising if true, Nigel. Are you sure about that?
  4. I am not sure that there is a correct answer to any question about P3D licences. What I do think is that far too many people get their knickers in a twist about it, rather than applying some common sense. That is all that I am going to say for the moment.
  5. The AI planes, Kevin. I started noticing double white columns appear rising up from the ground into the sky after I had installed version 2.4. I didn't know what they were at first, but then I noticed that they "moved" in sequence. What I mean by this is that one would appear, and then maybe ten seconds later another one would appear a short distance away from it. Then another.......and all in a straight line. I eventually realised that these were contrails from AI planes that were flying overhead at relatively high altitudes, except that they were vertical rather than horizontal. Other users
  6. A nice bonus, but I had hoped that this would also fix the "vertical contrail" problem aswell. I suspected that the two issues might be linked, but apparently not.
  7. Thanks for the clarification. What puzzled me were all the YouTube landing videos of this aircraft that generally show approach speeds of 115-125 knots, so it's good to know that 90-100 knots is normal.
  8. The SP3 update to REX Essential Plus has been released for P3D, and.....well...... my first impressions are rather disappointing. They seem to have resolved the "half textured, half smooth as glass" look of the sea, but I am still not happy with the water animation and textures. I can see the animation at a few hundred feet altitude (although I suspect that this is probably the default animation that was working perfectly fine close to sea level), but the textures still look as static and "painting like" at higher altitudes as they ever were. In fact, they look even worse in some respects when
  9. Can someone please help me with the MAP options on the MFD? I cannot for the life of me work out which key I need to press to change "North Up" to "HDG Up" (or any of the other options in the same manner). How do I do that?? EDIT: I worked it out. I needed to use the mouse scroll wheel.
  10. Yes, you are absolutely correct, John. I need to make sure that I remember stuff like that when I purchase planes for P3D in the future! To be honest, I would have expected the Flight1 Mustang to exhibit similar behaviour, but that wasn't the case in FSX. Maybe the engines are closer to the longitudinal centreline when compared to the Phenom?
  11. I think it is significant that the one FTX UK airport package that sold in significantly higher numbers than the rest was EGHI Southampton. I suspect this is because, in addition to all of those GA flyers in the flightsim world, this airport is also large enough to accommodate regional airliners like the PMDG 737NGX, QW 146, and Majestic Dash 8Q-400. That being the case, I still reckon that regional airports in the UK would sell pretty well. In fact, they would sell in significantly greater numbers than FTX EGHI Southampton if they were made compatible with default, ORBx, and photoscenery (and
  12. I have no problem with that, Jay. I took a risk that it would fly a lot like the Mustang, but it is appreciably different. Most of the aircraft that I have flown in FS (including the Flight1 Mustang) pitch down when the power is reduced, and that is extremely important to me. Still, you live and learn
  13. One aspect of the flight model that is "at odds" with the way that I fly my planes is that the aircraft's nose rises when I reduce power. I can understand why that is the case (and it's probably accurate), but I was hoping that it would react in the same way as the Flight1 Mustang! To be honest, this is just making me more and more angry towards Flight1 for making the Mustang unusable in P3D On a side note, I had a slight "glitch" with the install procedure for the Phenom. It came up with a message at the end. Something about being unable to find an FSX dll or xml file. I am not sure why
  14. If that's the case, why does this not affect any other aircraft?
  15. My first impressions of this aircraft are not good. I can't seem to get the trim controls to do anything. Aren't they supposed to control the angle of the ailerons on the tail unit? In addition, the plane slowly rolls to the right after take off, and I can't seem to stop it. Does anyone have any idea what is happening?
  16. I have finally made my decision, and a copy of the Carenado Embraer Phenom 100 is heading for my hard disk this evening
  17. Please, God....if there is any justice in this world.....let this be a true British success story
  18. Just a quick note to say that my FSS account has been updated with the new full SP3 build.
  19. They can't dish out Cobras to just anyone, Martin. You have to gain full security clearance first
  20. It's the closest I have ever seen an RC plane emulate the flying characteristics of its full size equivalent. RC planes (even the large ones) generally fly like small planes, but this thing has the grace and smoothness of a real A310. Very nice to watch.
  21. Earth Simulations are having a sale with up to 50% reductions in prices. However, the most important part of this thread is that they are selling Alderney for just £1!!! This is an absolute steal! Go and get it
  22. That was a magnificent piece of controlled flying in such a restricted environment
