Reinstallation question
stu7708 replied to stu7708's topic in Flight Simulator X (FSX) / FSX Steam Edition
Thanks for your input guys.. I got the new drive last week and installed it over the weekend. Tried it out with GTA IV and my problems were still there unfortunatly, so I reverted back to my old HD without getting to FSX.. Next step will be to swap out the GFX-card, and if that won't do the trick I'm aiming for a now computer.... Could always try to swap the RAM too, but that's a 120 investment. And if it doesn't work those memories won't be compatible with a motherboard that supports a I5 or I7 CPU... -
Hi all. I'm going to do some work on my computer to try and solve some instability issues I've been having for some time. The first step is replacing my harddrive with a new one, and with that comes a reinstallation of windows. Due to the fact that it's been a while since I last did a reinstall of my computer I've got some questions regarding the FSX installation process that I'm fairly confident someone in this forum can help me with. 1. Is there an easy way to save my current FSX logbook and info on completed missions and transfer those to the new installation? 2. Do I need to install

U.K. closes it's airports due to volcanic ash

The same situation up here in scandinavia. Norweigan airspace was closed the whole day yesterday along with the northern parts of sweden. And then it got progressivly worse with ESGG (Landvetter) closing down operations at 2 PM and ESSA (Arlanda) together with the rest of swedish airspace at around 6 PM. No word yet as to when they will start flying again. -
Great shots Capt'n Nice to see some unusual angles too.

A great leg Jack Good thing that parachuting schmuck didn't get sucked in to the engine. That would have left you guys in a lot more trouble....

Great post once again... The weather looked like it was taking a turn for the worse on the last couple of shots... But where's the confetti throwing smile when we need one :nea:

With the battery preformance in FSX it would be a challange :nea:

Great flight Ros.. and a funny story too. You should be very glad that they didn't do a alcohol test on you before take off after that bar bill.. -
A few questions regarding this part... is the mentioned dll usefull in other windows versions besides Windows 7? What is the purpose of the SHIFT - Right click part? Prehaps this is Windows 7 specific, in Vista it only brings up the same menu a normal right click would. And I also wonder about the need to do this for every flight. The regsvr32 command should add the dll permanently to the registry. Could possibly be that the command needs to be run as administrator to make it stick permanently, but that's easily done by right clicking the Command Prompt shortcut and choosing "run as adminis

I work almost straight under the approach to RWY 01R at ESSA, about 10 km away from the runway, and live about 4 km west of the approach to RWY01L and the same distance south of the approach to RWY 28. The road I drive to and from work runs in between the approaches to 01L & 01R, so I do see alot of air traffic on a daily basis.. last week I found myself under a 747 on final...

To easy for GTA

An approach I'm guessing most FSX users will be familiar with...

Who's this Sharon I keep on reading about?? She seems like a bit of a mystery girl... As for Mma Ramotswe.. This is what she looks like in the BBC/HBO Tv-series based on the books. Sharon in disguise or not.. I have no idea  And a big for all comments.. I'm a bit surprised, but very happy, that it was so well recieved. Oh, and Mut.. a nice try , they are swedish words and by trying to apply online translator logic to it I think I know what you mean

Even if it looks like a few challanges I'll spend this section on the substitutes bench... First of all, I agree with letting the pilots that hasn't flown in Section 1 get a chance. Second, there's a big risk that RL will interfere with my flying some time during this section. Got a little baby on the way, due to arrive on May 13th but one never knows when the little bugger decides to come...

Part III: Delivering the VIPI and Baton During our wait the weather cleared up into a nice and sunny afternoon. Hopefully our passengers can have a calmer flight to Polokwane. Around 3 PM a large and friendly looking woman headed our way across the tarmac. Hello Rra, are you the one that's going to fly me to Polokwane? I am Mma, welcome onboard. Were ready to get going straight away. That's great. I'll try to get some sleep in the back during the flight, I brought along some Rooibos Tea too. Help yourself to some if you want to. With introductions out of the way and Mma Ramotswe and a
