  1. Well, so much for wiping everything on my PC back to Windows 7 and starting from scratch.. I got as far as instaling FSX, FTX Global Base, then Global Vector, then Open LC Europe... and then it all went pear-shaped as soon as i installed PNW! I kept exlicit notes, took copies of the scenery library file each time, ran the Vector config tool every time i added each piece of software, and it still went pete tong. I have posted to the FTX forum but so far zip.. By all accounts S50 isnt affected by PNW or Vector so they don't even have a Vector config setting to
  2. Wow.. some truly beautiful shots there.. Any chance you can post your add ons? Is it Just the Pago scenery or other goodies too?
  3. Interesting... didn't know that!
  4. Hi Gavin I think there are a few posts on the Hangar at the moment with regard to ORBX Global. I'm just in the process of reinstalling upwards from Windows7 after all sorts of problems with Global and Vector. Their complexity and sensitivity to the order in the scenery library seems to be the root of a lot of problems unfortunately I don't know enough about how the layering would affect the lighting.. I suppose it's possible; I'm sure some of the Hangar guys will know. For me, the long winded and rather painful route of starting again is the only way to gua
  5. Welcome to the Hangar I too share your frustration having just been in a similar place with orbx global and vector causing all manner of nastied on my system including trees on runways and photorealistic car parks at my threshold... The order of the scenery elements is absolutely key, and you cannot reorder the orbx parts through the scenery list in fsx, it has to be in FTX using the reorder/insertion tool or all sorts of unsavoury things follow. I can't tell from your post if you reordered in FSX or not but if you did, even just once, that might be the culprit for the weird
  6. Thanks Joe Going to uninstall orbx and fsx then start again I think. Let's hope it works next time round
  7. Yep.. considering that as my last resort (well, before a complete FSX reinstall).. Just wondering if i should uninstall Global and Vector, there is no detail in the instructions to say the safest way to do it. Global does come with a deinistaller but not Vector. I'm wondering if i would cause more trouble or not. I have to say that in the past when i have had to uninstall Orbx stuff that it always went badly and i ended up having to go back to earlier images.
  8. Hi Joe Thanks for the suggestion. My Scenery library page automatically clears the cache on exit so I'm confused about what old data it could be. I wiped everything before I reinstalled FSX and then added on the Orbx stuff, so there shouldn't be anything non standard. I also installed in the order recommended by ORBX; Global Base, then Vector, and then PNW. I've run the automatic elevation tool from Vector to adjust any entries, just in case they were the problem, but still no difference at Auburn (S50). One thing i did notice in my sceen shot is that t
  9. OK.. update on the scenery Looks like my add ons are all in the correct place but i still have all sorts of rubbish showing up such as 'car park' photo scenery instead of grass, and trees sprouting from all over the place. http://fs-snaps.com/images/2016/06/04/Orbxlist150616.jpg My install order seems to be bang on, so i don't have a clue what the problem is now. I'd uninstalled all the software on my PC right back to Windows and the MOBO, graphics card etc. before i installed Global and Vector, plus i have the correct 'region' selected in FTX, and i have u
  10. Thanks for the reply Jess Looks like it's another wipe
  11. Hi all Well, i'd like to say that the re-install of FSX and all the programs on my FS PC was going well, but alas, one step forward has been followed by several steps back.. Need some help from those of you who have FTX Global, Vector and FTX PNW.. I treated myself to Global Base and Vector in the May sale, and now that I have started to install my scenery software I am encountering all sorts of problems with trees in the middle of runways, aprons, and strange photo-like scenery underneath the runway! Where did all those car parking areas under the runway come from??
  12. Thanks guys I'll try and keep tabs, although I'll be jealous as hell of you all Be good
  13. Hi all Those with sharp eyesight might have noticed my absence for the last 3-4 wks since I posted my ATWC6 PIREP, well, things have got a bit more complicated in that my plan to image restore straight after the PIREP has gone south. Not only did my last image restore not go smoothly, but I have since found out that my one good and stable backup from 2014 has now gone.. courtesy of my wonderful huz who went over the files unintentionally on the removeable drive with his own pc backup. I'm now looking at a full windows upwards install..deep joy!! At least I have notes on what I

    Simconnect

Good luck.. I had nothing but trouble with simconnect.. Opted for WideFS in the end.
  16. Handy to know.. thanks Brian I have to do an image restore again so might see if FS global wants to work first..

Not sure. Probably worth dropping him an email. He definitely sends internationally; Froogle did a review, and he'said based in the US. They do look seriously good don't they
  18. I've been debating it for some time.. I have FS Global 2010 but my rig just won't get on with it.. Might put it in the classifiedsmplumbing@talktalk.net if anyone is interested??
  19. When turning on your FS rig, with its networked PCs, multiple screens and every peripheral known to man makes your electricity meter spin faster than the 'Griswalds Christas lights' ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMekQj5w7MU

It's not often that I come across a piece of hardware that genuinely 'blows my skirt up' but I think I may just have found one. They've been about for a few years but have always managed to fall below my radar. http://mfg.simundza.com/products Perfect for those that don't get the responsiveness they want from the usual FS manufacturers, want to be able to adjust their pedals for a more personalised experience, or just want something that looks hot and doesnt need regular dusting.. The only drawback apart from the €320 price tag is the wearing of stilettos is banned w
  21. Might be an excuse to finally get FTX Global... hmmmmmm
