PIREP Leg 55 - Natal to Cape Verde (SBNT to GVAC)
hlminx replied to Bruce (a.k.a. brian747)'s topic in PIREPS
A fantastic PIREP Brian, and a truly great read. Well done for getting the 744 into (and out of) SBNT, and for the masterful maneuvering out of the gate. They didn't make it easy for you at all. Maybe the miles of open ocean were just what you needed after the exploits in Natal.. -
Hi Great PIREP Jess! I can imagine how cheery you were to find Joe had nicked the Airbus and left you with that little bug. I literally had to zoom right in to see it in your departure pic... was like playing 'where's Wally'

I'll add another thumbs up for the trident. I'd also like to see the Caravelle and the passenger version of the Lanc, otherwise known as the Lancastrian. -
Great PIREP Joe. That little GeeBee looks great fun! Guess I'd better find my passport and get my tush out to Africa soon for my leg..

Copious belated birthday greetings Brian. Been crazy busy that I've not checked emails or forums for over a week :-( Hope Mrs C ensured you had a cracking day. -
As if the Eurocrats in Brussels hadn't already affected safety by increasing the working hours of commercial pilots to the point where they are dropping off at the controls, they now want to do away with the co-pilot altogether.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3376887/Airliners-ditch-pilots-EU-plan-improve-safety-cut-costs.html The bean-counters are at work again...

Me ? a good girl ? < bats eyelids and smiles sweetly > I thought so, but then I was also given a Slow Cooker from the outlaws (something I would never use.. thank heavens for Amazon's return policy), so I guess its entirely possible that I have to make amends before I'm back on the nice list He did ask me several times what I wanted (I did say people could chip in for the Flight Sim aircraft I go a few weeks earlier), but he decided not to. The fact he now has to send back the kitchen gadget might prove that its just quicker and easier to listen to the wife.. I'm wor -
Did i just get told off by Maverick ?

Oddly enough i was totally sober at the time, lol. Seems to be on most of the default stuff (of course its Lance 'sinking' and not me, cough).. It really does sound like him IMHO but then again I am partially deaf in one ear ... I guess everyone has to have at least one vice.. its definitely tarnished his shiny armour.. -
OK.. this might sound totally out of left field, but am I the only person that thinks Microsoft got Tom (Top Gun) Cruise to supply the FSX voice for "don't sink" ?? Every time I hear it, I'm convinced that Tom is sitting there wagging his finger at me! Do I need to get my hearing checked (again) ?

28th December 1985, saw the first flight of the Fokker 50, as a replacement for the Fokker F27 which was showing a marked decline in sales after nearly 30 years of production. The F50 was flown by Virgin Australia, Avianca, Skyways Express, and Denim Air (owned by 'Panta' Holdings, funnily enough.. wonder if all the women were called Jean?). [Thought this was a timely post seeing as I have just bought myself the JF F27 Friendship. I flew on it many a time from Southampton to the Channel Islands as a young sprout]

New website and forum theme for 2016!
hlminx replied to mutley's topic in Mutley's Hangar News and Announcements
Looks great Joe Thanks for all your hard work getting the new site up and running (an extra Christmas present). Hope the spamming pond life get the message loud and clear, and give up sending their usual plethora of emails offering bigger parts of the anatomy, wonder pills, and bleeding heart requests to manage their African finances! -

Happy Christmas to all Unfortunately Santa failed to deliver any Flight sim stuff, but the mother of invention..... enough said ! -
On 22nd December 1964, the first flight of the SR-71 blackbird began at Air Force Plant No. 42 in California, piloted by Lockheed test pilot Robert 'Bob' Gilliland. It flew faster than 1000 mph and reached 45,000 ft before landing at Edwards Air Force Base.

Glad it's all sorted. Dupe assignments is usually a good starting point when looking for controllers doing strange stuff. ☺
