Thanks for the swift reply John :-) Sounds like the IR5 is worth the extra cash, plus the headset clip also sounds like getting (there is a version for sale with just the hat reflector).. One thing that has just sprung to mind is that my head is actually Quite a bit lower than the top of my monitors (3 x 32"), will it still work if the box on the top of the monitors is higher (its almost 8 - 10" higher than my head!) I can put my seat up a bit but the clamp under my Saitek Yoke doesn't give me much space to work with as it is.. Cheers

For quite a wile now, I've been toying with the idea of making it easier to get around all the buttons and switches in my most complicated aircraft (PMDG J41, 737NG and 747), so I have been looking at TrackIR and the new Tobii EyeX. Although the Tobii looks really interesting and dispenses with the need to wear a hat, or a headset, it doesn't appear to be capable of zooming in or out, and makes it a little too hard to look down at the keyboard/panels etc. without feeling sick when the screen is constantly moving. Oculus Rift wouldn't interest me as its far too expensive, and you can't

Hi John Sorry.. bit late to this topic. Yes, you can have a hybrid.. I've been running all my Saitek stuff on a mixture of FSX controls, FSUIPC and SPAD for years. I don't use the Saitek software for configuring any of my Saitek gear though. The main thing to make sure is that you NEVER have the same axis/button assigned in both FSX and in FSUIPC. It does take a while to go through and make sure that FSX doesn't sneak back in some settings (as it often does for some inexplicable reason!), but once you have it set up, its so easy to move from one aircraft to another, single or multi-en

Nice one Chuck Great idea to do some flights up front so that you looked like a regular although I'm not sure how you managed to put up with that accommodation! Great choice of bird too.

NOTAM Photo real scenery sale at Flightstore
hlminx replied to hlminx's topic in Members General & Announcements
My pleasure ! If I was into the Photoreal stuff I might have parted with some cash today.. -
A new year, and a new string of spam emails from PFS (Pro Flight Simulator for those that haven't had the misfortune of coming across it) To quote their words " You've got to check this out...[AMAZING]" ... what, $97 for something that is Open Source anyway ? Oh, and wait, the price is going to go up in 24 hours !! Really ?! Please don't be fooled by this 'offer'. Steer well clear !

Help please! Fokker F27 HPC programming in FSUIPC
hlminx replied to hlminx's topic in Commercial Airliners
Cheers for the reply John. I could have sworn that Peter Dowson was English, but those phrases do seem to be a tad out of place... "knock you up" .. really ? I've had a bash at setting up the lever in FSUIPC, but as its an axis and not a button, it might be an idea for me to use some of the buttons under the levers on my Saitek to assign the commands.. only problem is the Lock bit.. Hi Joe Thanks for the link. I stumbled upon that one yesterday which explains it pretty well. Thinking that the lever isn't the way to go now I've given it some more thought, and am toying wit- 6 replies

NOTAM Photo real scenery sale at Flightstore
hlminx posted a topic in Members General & Announcements
Was just mooching at the Flightstore website and they are clearing out a selection of photoreal scenery add ons, mainly UK2000 and Playsim titles. Some are going for £5 a piece. If you're looking for a bargain, go take a look, but beware, a few are for FS2004 ! Edit: There are also some aircraft on sale for £1 ..Hellcat, Panther, RV8 and the Stearman too -
Hi all As part of the Christmas sale at Just Flight, I managed to grab a bargain in the Fokker F27 Friendship, but am having some trouble trying to assign the HPC (High Pressure Cock) in FSUIPC as the functionality doesn't appear to exist anywhere in Peter Dowson's arsenal of pre-sets. I'm using my dual set of Saitek throttle quadrants with the throttle Axis set up on 2 levers, but try as I might, I can't get anything to move the HPC levers in FSX. According to the JF manual, there are 4 settings.. Prop Feather (I was planning on using the area below the detent on the Saitek

Very interesting post, and an exciting project. I checked out the website and was blown away by the list of features that are being planned. I will try my hardest to manage my expectations, but I sincerely hope that you can bring this one to life. Ps. Hopefully it comes under 'realism' but would make a nice change to have some more regional voices for ATC as well -
Welcome back Dan, and heartiest congratulations on your forthcoming nuptials.

Ditching a B-24 (just in case you needed to know)

That was really fascinating to watch. I wonder if they would have fared better if they had been a tiny bit flatter. Loved that the pilot took a moment to comb his hair too...made it look like the whole thing was just another day at the office It's got me thinking back to that crash a few years ago in an old 727 in the desert. At least these boys kept the wheels up.. Thanks for posting. -

There was no two ways about it… I was late! I all but ran through the departures lounge at Heathrow Airport, apologising to several unsuspecting travellers as I weaved left to right and my wheeled cabin-case (accidentally) ran into their ankles...Where on earth was the check-in desk? “You’re lucky”, the desk assistant said, “if you can get through Passport Control without a hitch, you should just be able to make it to the gate in time”. He handed my passport back and with a hurried thank you and apologies for my tardiness, I headed for Security. I chose what appeared to be the fast
