Plane Engine Fragments Fall On Queens Neighborhood
ddavid replied to allardjd's topic in Real World Aviation
Wonder how many hours the engines had been in use? Those PW's are normally problem free - only Boeing did choose the RR BR715 for the B717..... Cheers - Dai. -
Then, of course, there's Pootah-Pilot - doesn't come out very often and aimed at short-sighted (and aged) enthusiasts who can't read - I said "...who can't read ...." (soft snoring) Cheers - Dai (None so blind as those who won't see) <-- note the dark glasses?!?

O.K. - bear with me because I don't feel angry - rather I feel very sad. Why, because the returning troops are not the target of the protesters. It's UK Government policy that has put the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq and that is what the protest is about, not the troops themselves. So, what do you say? We live in a reasonably free world, governed by democratically elected parliaments of various hues. We need to see behind the headlines and understand the agendas of the media businesses that furnish us with the news. Their profitability is predicated on advertising revenue and the more pape

Thanks for the HU, Rob - I generally buy PC Pilot from the local WHSmiths - but maybe I should get a subscription - it is good. Cheers - Dai.

Now then, I've not come across this sort of dynamic scenery before - looks like an interesting development, Rob! Glad you managed to avoid the lumps - look forward to the next set... BTW, why the Christmas-tree lights? Cheers - Dai.

Leg 27 UHWW-RKTN, Vladivostok-Daegu
ddavid replied to rob16584's topic in Around The World Challenge II (ATWC 2)
By Golly, Rob - you sure did well to take the baton there! In fact, I'm running out of superlatives - screen-shots and commentary up to your normal high standards - that doesn't do you justice, though.... Keep 'em coming, Rob! Cheers - Dai. -
Hey, Rob - great flight! Screen shots and commentary really enjoyable - thanks! I used to go on hols to the IoW when I was a kid - there used to be an old railway from Cowes to Ventnor - steam trains - magic..... Did I miss the Mutleys Hangar at EGHI? Whatever, the scenery's very realistic. Oh yes, John, the Hunters at Exeter..... See here Thanks again, Rob. Cheers - Dai.

Thanks for that, Joe - it's been a long day and this has brightened it up no end! Mind you, I wouldn't like to be the bomb aimer/photographer in this AC, eh?!? Cheers - Dai.

G'luck with the yoke and pedals, Marcus, but you'll need the joystick for the helos! BTW, nice choice for your screen shot - thanks! Cheers - dai.

You must have seen this film..... Two scenes will forever be in my memory: 1. Where the dad cuts himself from the rope and falls to his death (somewhere in Monument Vally) in order to save his son and daughter - attached to the same rope....... and 2. When the Pakistan Air Force helicopter runs out of air density when ferrying the rescue party up K2 - almost funny but not, considering the dangers that helo pilots regularly defy in order to carry out their S&R duties. Nice screen shot, BTW! Wish I could control the bl**dy things long enough to take one! This is about as good as it

ddavid replied to mutley's topic in News and Press Releases
Thanks for your review, Rob - like you, I mostly use the lighter AC's, but here's one that's a possibility for me, at last.... BTW, now I know where you got the panel from on your ATWC Leg! And you did a really professional job there, too.... Cheers - Dai. -
You need a special technique - see the later parts of this vid..... Cheers - Dai.

This shouldn't be too difficult - but you must get the originating design team, not one of several distributors...... Good luck! Cheers - Dai.
