  1. This photo - in the April 2008 National Geographic - is absolutely fantastic: Find it here: http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/your-shot/top-shots-2008 I hope I'm not infringing copyright, Joe - apologies if I am! Cheers - Dai. :mrhappy:
  2. Thanks for the tip, Joe - here's my first assignment as free-lance action photographer: http://www.westerntelegraph.co.uk/news/latest/display.var.2164540.0.unconscious_rider_airlifted_from_beach.php I was miffed they didn't credit my credentials from The Hangar, and don't worry, I won't be giving up the day job (What job? Ed!) Cheers - Dai. :mrhappy:
  3. YY UR, YY UB, IC UR, YY 4 me! Ciao - Dai. :mrhappy:
  4. ....under the clock at Paddington staion..... Cheers - Dai.
  5. Hey, Simon - A RESULT!! Excellent - Go For It - Yeah! Funnily enough, I spent an hour, today, chatting to a favourite friend (also a local organic farmer) who was in the RAF for more than 25 years. Flew Canberras and Hunters and ended up as an instructor on Hawks at RAF Brawdy (5 miles north of the farm). I don't press him - just wait for the nuggets to drop out! Nice guy, too, needless to say. Lots of luck, mate! Cheers - Dai.
  6. So S-M-O-O-T-H!!!! Like the head on a Guiness, Dave - really liked the stylishly handled flight - makes me wish I'd been sipping wine in the executive lounge..... Excellent commentary too - thanks for sharing. Cheers - Dai.
  7. Sch-yeah...Wow...Ouch - How do you follow that, Steve?? Fan-bl**dy-tastic, mate! Cheers - Dai.
  8. Having missed the arrival (and departure), by helicopter, of HRH Princess Ann, recently, at the hotel "at the bottom of our garden", I was in seventh heaven today! There I was, minding my own business, giving the cows some silage, when a red helo went over me, turning back towards the sea. When he repeated the manouvre, I realised he was about to land on the beach. Brilliant red colour - must be the Wales Air Ambulance - and, it was. Pam and I ran (Oh Ha Ha!, Ed) down the fields (all three of them), scrambled over the fence, across the road and dived down the cliff path to take these shots:
  9. Apologies if you've all seen this collection of cross-wind landings before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNxaAwR7XCE&hl=en My "office" can be bumpy, but nothing like as exciting!!! Cheers - Dai.
  10. "Thank you, Shirley!" Magic moments, eh Joe?!? BTW, I wonder what John makes of it.... Cheers - Dai.
  11. Loved 'em, Joe - even a third time round, they're still hilarious!! Cheers - Dai.
  12. WELCOME HOME!!!! :tattle: Speak soon - cheers - Dai.
  13. Nice Shot, Dave - glad you got your hair cut - about time, Mate!! Cheers - Dai.
  14. I dunno, Reef - that front near-side tyre looks a bit flat, and, oh yes, Spring is here - time to mow that grass!! All in all, though, brilliant shots and editing - as expected from your stable! Cheers - Dai.
  15. Pure Magic, John - even the queues were excellent! :good Sorry I can't say more - too bl**dy busy to do justice. Thanks for sharing. Cheers - Dai.
  16. Thanks for the update, John - we'll just have to wait for the photographic evidence now (creaking tables, rows of empties, etc...) Anyway, glad you all had a great time! Cheers - Dai.
  17. You know where this is..... But what are we going to do about Global Warming, eh? Cheers - Dai.
  18. Now that was a polished flight - every detail finely tuned and an excellent set of screen shots and commentary! Thanks for sharing, Cyprus - a terrific contribution..... Cheers - Dai.
  19. Well now, that name - Mutley, was it? - sounds familiar, wasn't he something to do with the Hangar some time??? Place is pretty quiet, at the moment, John - so, any info on the subject would be interesting..... Cheers - Dai
  20. Well done, Simon - thanks for posting early. Prague airport looks a lot different to 1971, when I was there last (Where's your zimmer frame? Ed!) - but the old town's not changed much, well, not from your screen shots, anyway!! Look forward to the next episode - take care of Sharon..... Cheers - Dai.
  21. Hey, P-Z! Welcome to the Hangar - you'll get plenty of feedback, and if you've a problem (i.e. with aliasing), then just ask. Thanks for your contribution - BTW, does Martinair fly to the U.K.? Cheers - Dai.
  22. Hi Cyprus - you're very welcome! The next flight in the MRWC is Leg 104 : Zurich (LSZH) to Prague (LKPR) by George (TapA321) - delayed, I think, because of external commitments by George, but to be posted this week, we hope. You can see the whole list here: http://www.mutleyshangar.com/atwc/ I guess Joe (Mutley) will be completing the final Leg 117, by the end of April - given that the intervening Legs go smoothly. Thanks for the feedback.... Cheers - Dai.
  23. Hey Phil, I see they've dug a few trenches at KDEN since I was there last week!! Nice screen shots though, mate - thanks for sharing. Cheers - Dai.
  24. Here's an interesting snippet from Today's Pilot (April 2008), about that Boeing 767 gliding 200 km after running out of fuel - and landing safely: Hats off to the crew, eh? Cheers - Dai.
  25. Hi Cyprus! Mutley's Round The World Challenge (MRTWC) has been going nearly 12 months now, and we're nearing completion - the European Expedition being the final phase. However, I'm pretty sure that Joe - our hangar superintendant - will have something equally exciting up his sleeve for us to take part in after the MRTWC finishes. In the meantime, why not post some of your own flights - I'm sure you'll have some encouraging feedback - and you'd get to know some of your fellow Hangarians! Oh yes, and welcome to the friendliest FSIM forum on the web - no kidding. :mrhappy: Cheers - Dai.
