  1. It looks interesting and Its in my bookmarks. One day my brain might be in the mood for reading flightplanner again. The problem with flightplanners is that they take a good deal of time to learn and get used to. Often the manuals are not to good and the socalled intuitive approach can be troublesome. In general, tech persons are not always the best to communicate what they do. I have been through simlauncherX which i didnt like. I Sometimes use plan-G and often i use the default flight planner which I´m used to. The default is better than what most people think. Its a petty the map in the d
  2. So how´s your experience? Anything different in pain vanilla?
  3. Yeah, I remember your Technam 2006 review. "they promissed us heaven and brought us hell" (or something like that.) On the other hand, Aeroplane Heaven (AH) have made the Justflight Chipmunk and their "legends of flight" series. Which have received very reviews on this site. I have the DC-3, which is good, but its under heavy competition from the Manfred Jahn C-47. The DC-6 is pretty good as well when you are in the mood for a heavy prop tube. The Chipmunk is a little gem. I like it a lot and its the small AC in my collections that gets most hours. AP is also develloping the Justflight
  4. JG I just had a look in my FS-pc. If you are using P3D, the simconnect.dll can be found on this path: Prepar3D/redist/interface/fsx-sp2-xpack/retail/lib I hope this helps.
  5. I was directed to Aeroplane heavens site, http://www.aeroplaneheaven.com/ and saw these 2 upcomming birds: A globe Swift and a DH Dove. Both look very interesting for those of us liking something different than the tubeliners, highwing Cessnas, lowwing Pipers and Beechcraft, and the other industry standards. The Swift is a must for me, bringing back good memories from fs2002/2004 where Bill Lyons creations were some of my favorites. The Swift was FUN. The Dove looks interesting and maybe one day. I like these medium/small twin workhorses. Good for flying short and medium range and wit
  6. The solution is simple, but I can see that you are using FSX and so it might be different. I use P3D and the simconnect.dll can be found in one of the P3D folders and installed in a second. I´m not on my sim-pc now (I never am when browsing) so I cant look up where simconnect is in P3D and in FSX it will be different. (maybe a microsoft download? ) My suggestion is that you contact Justflight and tell them your problem and eventually mention the simconnect issue. Justflight have a fast and kind costumer service and I wrote them how I fixed the problem.. You can also contact Aeroplane
  7. One day we will know. Untill then, we can chat and have fun, but it will just be speculations.
  8. I agree, I have quite a few 32bit programs running on my 64bit OS PC. But i think that saying that everything will be just fine and working well is equally speculation and nothing else. Also, we have no idea how much improvement 64bits will give us. We will see what happens. Untill then, the runway is open for mental speculations. (nothing better than wasting time with that)
  9. Christoffer, I totally agree. A full reinstall is absolutely not on my menu. If you look around on various forums, you´ll see a LOT of people with that attitude. personally, I find it good that the sim is being updated and that work is being done to make it better. BUT I think that 3 - 4 updates a year is to much and it takes to much energy away from what this is about: flight-simming. Besides, I still cant see why update to 2.5 and I´ve read the LM site twice. My next update will be when i have to either because addons only work with 2.5 (I dougbt that will happen) or if my PC needs a wipe.
  10. Will anyone listen to him? Politics nowadays is money and Jordan is not exactly the biggest accumulation of that. Politics was supposed to be for the intelligent and prepared but it has turned out to be for the greedy and ruthless and thats why society is the way it is.
  11. I just saw that it released was yesterday. 10/02/2015 http://www.prepar3d.com/latest-news/ I´m not going to "upgrade" myself for now. I will be conservative and stay with v2.4 as long as possible. But I´m curious to know other members experience. I hope it means that some addons that I and others have been waiting for will now be released.
  12. Its good you have things straight. Do it the way you want it. This with aircraft that has a default or freeware version is a classical one, but its not really working anymore. Every day there are less good freeware. Some of the aircraft you have chosen wont have a freeware version in P3D (and some wont have a payware either) 2004 to FSX port over aircraft dont work in P3Dv2.x. They may show up, but wont have any clickspots and often the gauges will be gone. I find it totally straight that you wont use P3D yourself, but its up to you to decide wheather you will let your VA be a P3D fr
  13. That last news is scary. And if its true, the company should be grounded I think i'd feel more safe in one of Buffalo airways old DC3 than i one of these modern, narrow wing computer controled AC. To this add poor economy and stress. Yeeeks.
  14. To which degree are these AC handflown or computerflown when taking off?
  15. You can always consult on forums. And you can consult me as well. I just dont know that much. My own experience is that most (all?) newer fsx aircraft, that was made for FSX only, work on P3D. Some may have license issues where the devellopper dont want you to use their AC on P3D. When talking about these things on internet forums, you very often gave these super-I-know-evererything types that bangs along saying that you should only install in P3D what is made specifically for P3D. If not it may make a lot of damage on your system. While that in very few occasions may be right with respect o
  16. Kasper, Bush planes and old propliners is exactly my cup of tea. But I think you need acouple of smaller bush planes. What about a C207 and a couple of smaller taildraggers. Evt older ones. I like piston engine bush planes. Also think about what works in P3D. Example, The FSD pc-6 doesnt work in p3d. Orbx made a poll on what sim their costumers were using and I was surprised that a little over 40% were using P3d v2. And its growing.
  17. Remember to check your scenery library after installing this one. If you had EU scenery addons above the OpneLC EU, they will be below after installing the update. (typical orbx)
  18. And here something different. Just a small idyllic Danish Castle near Nordborg. Scenery is Vidan design "Nordborg" and AC is a C140. When I was a big kid in the 70th, I used to take my bicycle and visit my granparents that lived near the airstrip of the small town. My favorite AC there, was something like the C140. It was small and polished and a dream in my eyes. It was also being used quite a lot. Maybe it was their trainer. There were bigger AC. Amongst them a low-wing single with retractable gear belonging to one of the rich in town, but it was hardly used. and I prefered the lit
  19. Take a look at this one: (I was wrong when I wrote virtualairlines. I meant virtualairlogistics) http://virtualairlogistics.org/ There you can do what you feel like, when you feel like and whereever you like. Try their short C172 or PA18flights from KMYL. They are scary. (you can substitute AC to the one you prefer in that size)
  20. I´m member of Virtualairlogistics and Ravn Alaska virtual. The first is very open, relaxed and pretty active. Using their charter flight system you can fly whatever where ever. They also have hubs and scheduled routes from Piper Cub to Boeings. Ravn is unfortunately a bit dead. It could be such a nice VA. Their idea is to mirror the real world Ravn alaska, but there are many flights missing, especially in the smaller C207 - C208 range. Hopefully they wake up. I like that its strict. You have to clasifie for the planes and schedules by flying hours and by exams. Its fun. But since I´m m
  21. I dont know how laws and rules are where you live, but here in Europe, its illegal to sell a product with false promisses. You may write a million words about how good something is, but its illegal to promise something that is not delivered. And the system actually take action. We have pretty strict laws about that. I make and sell my own products and know the costumer laws. We should be very glad that we have these laws because scamming and cheating is starting to become the name of the day, and to me, it looks like it has entered the flight sim world as well. To accept that this is ok,
  22. I´m glad that you guys like the program, and I agree, it changes things. It can be discussed (and has been other places) if its to the better or the worse. Untill now, I´m a bit indifferent because it is more fluffy which is nice, but its also lower res and more cartoon like which I dont like so much. BUT this thread was not about that. It was about a software develloper making a product, promissing a LOT of things which is not being delivered. I bought my first addon back in 2202 - 3. I´ve bought good and bad ones. Mostly good ones. This is the first time I have a feeling that I´ve bee
  23. You´re right in the first statement. but I think we should all expect what the publisher is saying will be in the package. And thats far from being the case. They have totally over-decorated this product in their sales description. And the fact is that you install ONE low resolution texture. There are 16 different, but you only intall one a time. But as I said, because of the price, I´m not pissed of, but I learnt a few things with this one. Number one, dont buy any REX products.
  24. Yes, REX is very confusing. And their sales promotion is VERY agressive. After having tried Rex soft clouds, I would feel ashamed if I had written the product description on their website.
  25. Thanks for clarifying. It seems logical. Untill now, I havent installed any non-orbx aiports in Orbx region territory. Mainly because I have found the default region airports to be good enough and because of money, of course, (and PC performance) Its not a problem with ftx global because it doesnt reinstall itself above other entries you have made in the scenery library everytime you use the FTX central. But the regions put themselves above every time you use it.
