  1. Chris I can send you some merged autogen files for Elstree that will sort it for you....
  2. Hi Steph, welcome, was good talking with you I ran the idea of 3 TVs past Bex my wife, needless to say it didn't go down well.... Cheers k
  3. Chris I have done Elstree. I have Shoreham but haven't integrated it yet. K
  4. Belay that, I read the website it IS buildings as well
  5. IIRC autogen factory was only going to add trees, a la Treescapes? If it provides a full upgrade to building autogen as well then great, I must have mis-interpreted something
  6. One might be adequate now but with the additional GPU load through DX11, and multi monitor setups,I think 2 fast cards may indeed be necessary, although with a nod towards the cutting edge rather than bleeding edge GPUs
  7. I'll be moving to p3d based on this confirmed info. The boss has already approved me spending whatever I like (!) on it, as long as I spend the same on her I especially like the confirmation that multi GPUs will be supported and maybe even SLI/Crossfire in v2.0... So I feel some hardware improvements coming on, anyone have any comparisons between GPU pairings to determine the best performance/price ratios?
  8. Of course Chris, I am not advocating sharing payware files to non purchasers...I don't think there would be any legal issue with sharing the info regarding what files you actually changed though and in what way
  9. I am a big fan of Ray's work, and I commend you for getting into the weeds of Scotflight and making it work Chris! (Cue a round of prostrate Buddhas and several 'I'm not worthys'). Any chance you would be willing to share the amended files with the rest of us please? Cheers k
  10. I think from their website that they intend to continue producing sceneries for Orbx (quote: we are more than just the engine for others and therefore we now also need our own identity in addition.), so I take that to mean they are going to have a stab at the market that JV has declined to enter, whilst continuing to produce stuff for Orbx as well in parallel. It's definitely good news for us, I just hope that the uk development teams (Uk2000, Orbx, Earth Simulations and now Sim720) can work out some, probably unspoken, agreement that promotes much greater airfield coverage in the UK, for both
  11. See flight.sim720.co.uk for more details, but they say their first airfield, Oban, is compatible with default, Orbx and GenX photoscenery k
  12. Lovely, two more for the show, my wife and daughter don't want to be without me, but I'm going, so they are coming too
  13. Ok I was convinced by this too, don't know when I'll ever have the time to fly her though
  14. Earth Simulations Isle of Man has been released, now with full automatic install so there's no worrrying about manual stuff this is probably their best yet.... http://earthsimulations.com/?wysija-page=1&controller=email&action=view&email_id=7&wysijap=subscriptions
  15. Prob will be next month now Chris, just realised how much I spent in flight sim products already in September :O my significant other would be less than impressed!!
  16. Yes I do, as well as the FTX region, for variety, and because I wanted to see how extensive the photoreal Edinburgh was and if I could lift the autogen from it and use it elsewhere . Already have the UK2000 versions of Edinburgh and Glasgow...
  17. I think I got that, but where do the 2 volumes of VFR airfield fit in? Are they 2 halves of the v2.5? Or just 2 of the 5 volumes covered by v2.5? And if the latter, why market them separately at more than the cost of the whole package? :s
  18. I've seen the VFR airfields 1and 2 for Scotland at £27 and £35, and also the scotflight v2.5 package at £60 for coverage of all 5 vols of photoscenery. Since they are all done by scotflight, what's the difference between them? and why the apparent price difference? Anyone have an opinion on which I should get please? Cheers k
  19. Up til now I have only really merged the autogen with that of Treescapes, keeping 3 of the OrbX region folders active... I'm aware some airfields may need some terrain flattens creating IF they needed to be used with GenX mesh. However, for the sake of ease, and workload reduction, I may choose to just stick with the OrbX 10m mesh, which although slightly less detailed will eliminate the need for time-consuming terrain mods. Sorry for that, but time is at a premium with little Eillithia So, up to how they seem pretty easy to sort.. I haven't documented scenery orders and any effects they may
  20. I don't have the airbus extended, is there any bullet point list anywhere that details what is and isn't simulated system-wise please, that anyone's aware of? I was intending to hold off for the FSL version but who knows when that will be out....and I'm thinking perhaps I should get the aerosoft one in the meantime?
  21. It's worth bearing the following in mind. JV does have a certain personal 'style' which can appear quite abrasive at times, this being one of them. However, he had asked me not to on a couple of other occasions, more politely, so it could be said I pushed the boundaries a little... Now, my two issues were firstly the requirement to have the England region, and second the lack of out of the box compatibility with photoscenery, certainly at the original pricepoint. Since the price reductions, I take a slightly different view now, especially in light of having been able to pretty much integrate
  22. Tim, I had goodwood and Elstree working reasonably well, bought the others but not installed yet....
  23. I don't know about Europe, but years ago I found an open source directory of woodland and forest for the UK which classified their trees by species composition. Theoretically if data was available you could create vegetation groupings to match those, then split an OSM vegetation shape file down to match the specific groups and hey presto pretty realistic autogen vegetation? I even found tree species location data by 1km square or the UK sure again theoretically it would've possible to match that up and get actual specific and correct autogen species Purely theoretically of course, prob too mu

    Cosford 2013

Joe, as well as the show, is there any unofficial social arranged, thinking food and a drink afterwards maybe for anyone interested? K
  25. Fab, sounds like the competition in the weather add-on arena is bringing some fantastic benefits to us all, whichever one we use
