  1. Cracking! Haven't looked but I wonder how much OSM open source data there is for these countries, so some clever people can get some autogen packages made available?
  2. Chris, if P3Dv2 produces performance benefits, it is precisely the adoption of it by the community that will force PMDG to find a solution and accommodate us....else go out of the entertainment business. Having said that, there appears to be a wonderful symbiotic relationship developing where rw training tools are cross subsidising products being made available to the sim community, as I don't believe that the development time and costs would really justify them being made solely for us
  3. Damn I hate it when that happens, I clicked add to cart and then buy before even thinking
  4. Chris, that's the kind of subversive attitude I could easily buy a pint for
  5. Last word and then I'll drop it, I don't want to get banned by the boss here as well OrbX are doing some budget airfields now, Damyn's Hall being the first. I have a feeling given that the first round of grass strips didn't sell so well that these might not either? Why? Because the hardcore VFR pilots who love this kind of stuff (yes, my hand's up!), tend to fly photoscenery in my experience. CIX VFR club who I have flown with being one such place but I'm sure there are others... The more I see FTX regions, they aren't not so bad, the thing that puts me off them big style for VFR
  6. No apology necessary Brett! it is refreshing to be able to express one's opinion freely here and I certainly took no offence I think I harbour a subliminal desire to be Dr Frankenstein to Mary Shelley's (JV's) grotesque monster of similar name . (The dead horse/lifeless corpse clearly being photoscenery compatible airports,) Perhaps I thought that just one more post would invoke the bolt of electricity needed to bring life forth Perhaps I would have been better avoiding the 'just one last push' mantra of First World War generals but heh-ho... And yes, I did know that I was stirring up a
  7. Brett, its not product bashing at all, I commend the OrbX developers for their quality and inventiveness. As far as regions go I choose myself not to prefer land class based scenery, but expressing that choice is not bashing, it's just my choice and I respect the choice of others as I wish then to respect mine I just don't understand like BF says, why OrbX won't undertake what would clearly to me be a commercially successful option. The option to include a ground image coloured to match photoscenery would take virtually no time at all, and would mean no loss of seasons, which is otherwise th
  8. Well what do you know, JV even deleted my very restrained clarification comment He must have gone to the same business school as Michael O'Leary! EDIT: if that doesn't get me banned nothing will
  9. How does that work jay, have I missed something? Is P3D not working with photoscenery? Forgive my ignorance I've never looked at it....
  10. Ladies/Gents, I am now seriously considering not continuing down the line I have been of looking to make Orbx airfields work with photoscenery, because of the following comment from their lord and master, from which you can draw your own conclusions. At the moment I feel downright ignored, unappreciated, humiliated and not a little angry, both as a customer and a human being. have a great day... K http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/65219-teaser-what-russ-white-is-growing-next/page-2#entry596542 And in case that gets deleted.... http://imageshack.com/i/0yx1mp
  11. We will try Chris, despite the best efforts and advice of certain people
  12. I don't know Chris, and work constraints prevent me from finding out for a few days. Sorry k
  13. Some screenies for Chris... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  14. http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/64336-eghi-southampton/#entry588733 Link to merged autogen files intended for use with ES Treescapes only (Couldn't find the option to upload files here so had to link to the FTX support forum post, sorry) Is there any other option please Joe? Cheers k
  15. Seems a reasonable assessment to me, if you own one copy that's what you can sell, try to sell more than you legally own and that's then theft and you can take the rap.
  16. Pants, it looks like this may be more difficult than I thought I have integrated the agn files with no problems whatsoever, but have encountered a problem with exclusion of autogen over a much wider area that I can't pin down yet so I am unable to determine whether it is EGHI related, or whether it perhaps is a scenery layering issue. I have had the uncomfortable side effect that for a large swathe of the solent my water textures have been replaced by generic landclass images, which I last came across when I installed the v3 upgrade to GenX for vol3. The only fix I found then was to
  17. I bought this too for a quick look and can report that there appear to be virtually no compatibility problems, just one small bridge over the river is slightly misaligned. Even the colours don't clash too badly The Orbx photoreal layer knocks out the treescapes autogen as expected but as with Elstree it should be possible to integrate the ES autogen with the EGHI in a few minutes. Will update this post with a screeny and the merged autogen files when I've done them...
  18. Haven't had chance to verify them yet Chris but if I do I'll point them out. It's worth noting there is a hot fix for some water related terrain probs which I missed at first....
  19. To be fair, I've been fairly critical in a constructive sense and not been banned yet
  20. Yep, that was something I noted in my Goodwood review
  21. All I can do is tell you what I think I 'know' Chris, so, in no particular order.... The Orbx airfields are designed to work with the Orbx regions obviously. They are designed to fit with the FTX mesh as Brett says, but some of them, to a greater or lesser degree, also include high res photoreal areas which contain autogen. (Goodwood is a fine example of this.) Depending therefore on the degree of difference between the FTX mesh and whatever else you might want to use, you may find terrain anomalies when using Orbx airfields outside of their region. I have two installed right now, Goodwood a
  22. I'm running my 2500K at 4.7.... Was as easy as running up the multiplier in the BIOS it is taking quite a voltage load though, but getting temps of about 50c max using an old H80 (they sold the design to someone else and I can't remember the name - I had terrible trouble with the new Corsair water coolers and had to send several back)
  23. Let us know how you go on with it Chris, sorry but family demands have impeded my ability to do any screenshots so far
