replacing my C150 climbing out from Quiberon Airfield, France with this shot.... Piper Arrow somewhere over the German Black Forest at dawn.... -
Thanks Keiran, that's right...usually the acrylic goes beneath the enamel as otherwise it won't adhere to the glossy surface of the enamel

Great, glad to have been of help.... one more tip for you... DecalFix although useful, isn't the best for sealing the decals. I use MicroSol and MicroSet to seal them in if using a matt gloss, otherwise i always do a gloss coat first, apply the decals, wait 3 days for the gloss to fully cure, then go over it with a matt/satin varnish, but this depends on the model.

I gotta admit Mut, the only thing between me and the AH Comet is (as JD points out) the fantastic freeware Comets from DH...although i've obtained several add-ons from other freeware sources to put some umpf into the sound package and also upgrade the VC, so it's really not that bad at all now.....i'll be very interested to see what the review's are like like come release day for the AH version!

Hi JD, as long as the White acrylic goes down first, you wont have any issues.... Many modellers (myself included) use a mix of Acrylic and Enamel to paint their models. Usually the Acrylic is used as a base coat/primer and then the enamel used over the top as it 'sticks' better to the primer than it does to the flat plastic, you also get a better finish. I've always been told to paint over a base-coat starting out with the darker colours and finishing on teh lighter ones, but if your white is the main colour, i doubt you'll run into any issues...... just remember to mask it all REALLY well

the question is Mut, what's the sound pack and VC like? I have a very soft spot for the British Golden Age Jet Airliners so i'd be on the purchasing list as customer number one if these areas 'hit the nail on the head'

never had a C64, but i did have its most tenacious rival at the time...theAtari ST 1204 (featuring an 8MHz CPU & 1MB RAM) and then i upgraded to the Atari Mega STE with a whopping 16MHz CPU - ah those were the days!

You're quite right John, there are a grand total of nil original DO-17s in existence....that was until this one was found! As the article says, all the Finnish DO-17s were scrapped in the 50's and as far as records can say, all the others were destroyed during/following WW2. So this will be a massive rarity when it is finally raised. -

ok, this looks really quite fun...if only for one thing - i could understand how to fly VFR using the radios/nav equipment ! usually i just take off and hand-fly till i fancy landing, then i'll seek out a runway, get clearance and land - simples! anyone care to align my buttocks on the correct railway track and set me off in the right direction?
-
A* Dai, great find, absolutely brilliant...
-
Cheers Keiran, i've seen that and, generally, tend to stay away from reviews by AVSim - i don't know if its just me but they very rarely seem to be positive about many things, usually its or 'xyz could be better if the manufacturer had modelled their (insert aircraft) like (insert rival company) did for their (insert comparable aircraft)' but thanks for the help....
-
anyone know of a review for this?? I think i'll get it anyways, but would be nice to see some opinions about it from somebody whos used & abused it since its release....
-
wow...it's been a while huh keiran....same for me i'm afraid, haven't so much as looked at my me110 kit since my last entry

ooooohhhh, i can feel my neck hairs trembling with excitement.....now then, what to fly, where and what backdrop hmmmmmmmmmmmm....off to the hangar for some inspiration!! -
personally i've had my reservations about this move northwards for a while...i mean nearly 3/4 of all the vulcan displays are in the south of england with only a handful north of birmingham. Surely that'll mean longer flight times to shows, thus more fuel used meaning a greater cost to the fund...and yet this year VTTS are struggling for cash to fuel the first months displays. Doesn't make sense to me really! But then, thats my opinion. I'm sure mr. Plemming and co did their research before deciding on the move north.... Si

outstanding footage, the twin hook-up AAR with '105 was very nice, i've watched that from the other end as a VC-10 passenger and can only applaud the pilots of all 3 aircraft - amazing stuff.

WTF!?! ok, apologies for the expletives, but who in their right mind would really use or more importantly want one of these? if anything the main thing that puts me off eating around my PC/laptop are crumbs in the keyboard....surely toast would be among the worst candidates for that!
-
...erm, better make that 8000 miles round trip Mut...and at a cost of about £225,000 PER A/C

regards the Easter Bunny thing Joe - whos organising it? what's it all about, and where do i sign up?

would however i feel that my current non-ownership of FSX (...donations or gifts accepted) may limit me somewhat as to my involvement. si

AMEN to that statement Rob....although i'd sacrifice FF for Chrome, but that's personal preference.
