  1. Me planting some seeds.. Hey, I never said it was a new flight sim :th_smiles73:
  2. That burger is just scary. Had I eaten it I'm sure I would have needed someone to roll me out of there afterwards Oh, and I'd prefer Radio :001_th_smiles48: :001_th_smiles48: over the lady one any day of the week.
  3. Let's just hope the winds continue to push the ash cloud north. That would at least limit the impact of it to trans atlantic flights...

Wow.. and it comes out as understandable english too? That's impressive. As for seasons, doing a scenery of sweden without seasons would be like making a curry without spices. Bland and uninteresting
  5. Something along those lines yes.. But I do fear she's to smart to fall for it...
  6. ..And your point is? Only Joking Micke! I would love to meet you and all our regular members/friends. We could have a flight sim widow convention too! Joe No worries Joe. I'm part of what in sweden is commonly known as the ironic generation, so I should be able to spot a bit of irony one would think :th_smiles73: I'll just have to convince my dear wife that we should go to an appropriate location in the UK for a vacation on a carefully selected date, and then just happen to find out that I have a chance to meet up with some online friends :th_smiles73:

    Mesh

I got FS Global 2010 about a year ago and it looks great to me. The only problem with a global mesh is that it can wreck havoc with other add-ons with local meshes. For some reason FSX seems to disregard the priority of the scenery layer when it comes to meshes, and just picks the one with best resolution. Some time this means that things end up looking very strange.

    SWE2011

I have just picked up some info on a small group of people trying to make a free/shareware scenery covering the whole of Sweden (finally). The work so far looks stunning, almost up to FTX/ORBX standards by the looks of it. Unfortunatly all info I've found so far is written in swedish, but to sum it up it will be a landclass/texture based scenery with custom made airports. The first release will cover the regions of Skåne and Halland in the south of sweden and should be released in a not to far future. You can find a whole bunch of screenshots and videos here.
  9. The version 4 had bugs in it?? :th_smiles73: None that I noticed in my review, apart from the offshore helipads not working properly... Might have to get this update then. And I'm very much looking forward to seeing what they did with Woensdrecht. I once had an AH base there, so I'v done a few trips in and out of the default version...
  10. To bad I couldn't be there. I'd really like to go to something like this, but the opportunities in sweden are few if not non-exsisting, and I fear my wife would leave me if I were to fly of to england to "play" with flight simmers
  11. Hi Jack. The problem was more of an estetic kind than how to insert the code. I couldn't find a good way to add my comments in a readable way within the code. Also, the excel-file gives you a better way to manipulate the values and see how the variables changes within the command. It should be in your inbox by now, so take a look and get back to me if there's any questions.
  12. So far no word on the release date, but PMDG are starting to push out screenshots of the liveries that will be available on release. Also, this VC shot was posted last night.. looks stunning. (Download it and look at it in full size is my tip) As for liveries, so far PMDG have posted the following airlines. Virgin Blue Qantas WestJet WestJet Care-antee Air Algerie United Airlines Kulua (The flying 101 livery :icon_thumbup: ) KLM and Korean Air To see the shots of the liveries, take a look here, and then follow the link to part 1 at the top of the post.
  13. Hi Jack. I have failed to make the presentation of the script in a readable way on the forum. Have you got access to MS excel at home or at school? In that case I could mail you an excel-sheet with details on the script, where you also can simulate the changes from FSX into SICO via FSUIPC and see how the variables changes. If that's ok with you, PM me your email and I'll send it over as soon as I can.
  14. Congrats Bill, and keep those stunning works of art comming.
  15. Many congrats on you birthday. Hope you had a great one.
  16. Me like big time :icon_rockon:
  17. Actually I just checked that. The airline, Aerosvit airlines runs a regular service from Kiev to Stockholm. Looking at the flight no. it looks like it varies what plane type they use for the flight. But this particular plane has been in Stockholm three times this month already, so with some luck I might be able to grab a shot of it sometime
  18. Took a trip up to ESSA on my way home from work on friday. The weather was nice and landings were done on runway 01L. This means that one of the lookout positions in close proximity to the airport is a perfect spot to take landing pictures. Standing on a small hill nearby you're just 300 meters to the right of the centerline, and about the same distance short of the start of the runway, and almost on the same altitude as the planes comming in to land. On any given day at this time the most common thing comming in to land are SAS and Norwegian 737:s and a few A320 variations. Not to exciting,
  19. No problem. Since it's one of the reasons I havn't bought this software it was pretty easy for me to make the connection. Also, it's a fact clearly present on their website, unlike some other software with the same issue i've bought. Luckily that program wasn't FSX connected, and I have a laptop with Vista Ultimate where I could run that program.... But for FS2Crew I'm so far stuck with the button controll versions... Will most likely pick up the button controll version for the J41 once I'm done with the Iceland X review... (on a side note I have at least started typing that up now, so it
  20. Looks barren enough to be Iceland, and that was my first thought too. And to be more exact I'd guess on Eyjafjallajökull
  21. Great review Rob. One thing though. I think you should add one thing to the system requirements as a favour to anyone using a non english version of windows. It's not as simple as just windows vista or Windows 7. It need to be able to run the speech recognintion in english, and for this to work you need to be able to run windows with english language. For me, running a swedish version of Windows 7 Professional at home, it won't work unless I upgrade to the Ultimate edition and install an english languge pack. The same would apply to anyone using a spanish, german or french version of Window
  22. Great shots Mark. I was half expecting it to be some Duke Nukem screenshots, but these were better :th_smiles73:
  23. It all depends on what the command that runs every time the linked value to FSUIPC changes, assuming that is what triggers the execution of the command. I've got a full day ahead of me at work today, but I'll try to write up a detailed description of it based on my VB script example above and get back to you tonight or sometime during the weekend.
  24. Well, since it's not connected to an input of any sort why should it hold any other value than what you program it to hold in your scritps? Ending the function used to manipulate the range meter with &CurrentDistance = &NewDistance where NewDistance is a variable linked to the FSUIPC output for the VOR range meter in FSX should do just that... There should be no harm in testing it out I think. If SIOC resets the CurrentDistance variable to NULL once the commands are executed the rest of the script will do exactly what you're already doing, but without the reseting of t
  25. Well, you are the resident expert on SIOC here but it does sound strange that you can't declare a variable for computations that's independent of the input source. Looking back at your Seven Digit Display Card review I found some code for declaration of variables. I.E. “Var 2, name SPD_DP, Link IOCARD_DISPLAY, Digit 1 Numbers 5” Is there no way to omit the Link part of that declaration in SIOC, and thus having a global variable available for storing the CurrentDistance value in?
