Great shots Ed. Love those REX sunsets.. Keep 'em coming.

Thanks for you kind comments everyone. Leg 2 will be up soon, I just need to pick the shots... @Dai: No Sir, that's not the reason. But I do know the reason now. Take a look at shot #6 above, and you might be able to figure out what I forgot to do before takeoff that induced some drag :th_smiles73: Came much, much closer to my target time to Scilly, even if I had to do a crosswind landing on RWY 27 to make it on time. @Falcon: The Alderney scenery comes from Earth Simulations, and yes it looks great. They have made a scenery for the destination in leg 2 too, but sadly it's not in my libra

Thanks Joe. Yes UTX Europe is used, and possibly FScene X helps a bit to enhance the ground textures too. And the HDR plugin for better overall color :th_smiles73:

Well, first try at this type of flying, and I was way to slow. Need to catch up on the next leg... Climbing out from Southampton on heading 240, aiming for a cruise at 4 500 feet. Getting closer to the coast, should be somewhere close to Bournemouth. Handy to have the power settings chart in the sun visor.. That should be Weymouth at the right side of the shot.. And possibly Saint Albhans Head to the right in this shot. Almost time for things to head south.... And after lots and lots of water, Alderney and the french coast comes into view. Cap de la Hague on the French co

Cute cat, but I'd better stay far away from it. I'm to allergic to them for my own good. My wife tells me my eyes look like the eyes of a Pug if I'm around cats to long... If I do have a co-pilot it's my 10 month old son. If he manages to stay awake he just bangs randomly at the keyboard Flying got a whole lot easier when we found an old disbanded keyboard for him to play with.

Great capture.. It's no easy feat to manage to catch those..

Ah.. I had missed the Flight briefing link on the download page... Good thing I hadn't gotten any flying done yet

Hi JD. Try to send a PM to Gabe (“GabethePilot”) Logan. He reviewed Instant Scenery 2 a while back and might have some tips on this.

Removing the Service packs, FSX
stu7708 replied to The red barron's topic in Flight Simulator X (FSX) / FSX Steam Edition
If I remember correctly Acceleration includes SP2 but needs SP1 applied to FSX in order to install. But I'm not sure how to go about installing if you already have SP2 installed. -
Hmm.. Am I missing something on the route section here. Are we supposed to make stops at Lands End and St. Athans? The way I read it we just pass overhead at those airfield, or did I miss some crucial information?

A good looking plane. I'm guessing it's the one that JF have as under development. I realise that you're under a NDA on this one, but I have to ask one thing that I think you should be able to answer without violating that. Is this part of JF:s F-Lite series, or more along the lines of the Connie as far as system simulation goes?

I agree to what Tim says. Never install FSX in C:\Program Files(x86)\. The reason for this is the new security "feature" in Vista and Windows 7 that makes this folder and all sub-folders write protected. The only time I'd choose that for the install path is if you're comfortable with turing of the UAC in Windows. Personally I do have the UAC off, but still opted to change my install path. As for installing to X:\Program Files\, that really shouldn't be a problem. It's, as far as I know, only the Program Files folder on the System Partition that's protected by UAC, so you should be fine Joe.

Hi Just a small correction of what John said regarding NOTAM departures. If I remeber correctly the restriction on the distance to the first waypoint has nothing to do with NOTAMS. This setting can be active regardless of where the first waypoint is. ATC will instead instruct you to let them know when you are clear of terrain or other obstacles and can continue on course under ATC control. How ever, if your first waypoint is within 30 miles of the airport RC will see this as an indication of you flying a PD or SID, and as a result will use it's functions for departure procedures, but this s

Looks great George. Lots of familiar places and memories from my trip there in January last year. By the way, did you see the Candy Bomber DC-3 mounted outside the technical museum? Looked kind of strange just hanging there...

Hi Mark and :icon_welcomeani: to the Hangar. While I didn't write the Radar Contact Review I have some answers for you. 1. Not sure exactly what you are after here. But one feature is that you can save the flight with the current state of Radar Contact to be able to return to your flight. This should be a possible way to get what I think you're after. RC also supports Touch and Go's if I remeber correctly. 2. Yes, most of what I can think of are available, with an option to divert to the closest available airport, or any FSX airport of your choice. And RC will also ask you for souls on boa

Finally got that timer working in FSX last night after a few failed attempts. But since the plane I plan to fly (Carenados PA-34 200T Seneca II) already had 14(!) 2D panles defined in panel.cft I had to replace one of them with the timer.. No worries though, I mainly fly from the VC anyway... Next goal, to get the test flight done.

I look forward to reading it then, even if cockpit building is something I have no personal intrest in at the moment.. That said, I'm most impressed with your two big projects. It's just not my cup of tea..

My three entries for this month... For some strange reason I'm taking shots over Iceland most of the time these days.. No edits done apart for cropping away the menu bar and RC window. Enjoy.

Now that's a strange looking airplane.. But a well written review. Great work Joe. -
Cool. But I fail to figure out a practical use for it.. Can you enlighten me, or should I wait for the review?

No wonder they havn't found it until now, they must have been searching in the wrong place way out in the Atlantic

Oh.. that brings back lots of memories.. a true icon in computer history... We used to run up to 8 person tournaments in "Summer Games" and "Winter games" on my C64 during family parties. None of us ever got the hang of the figure skating though.. everyone usually ended up on all four on the ice, and scoring really low points :th_smiles73:

I've planted a copy of your Press Release and a link to the forum on the PMDG forum where news on the 737 NGX are published. Should get some attention there hopefully. Now all I need is to get some time to fly the Test Flight :icon_thumbup:
