  1. On the floor or the roof of the cabin?? :th_smiles73:
  2. I could have sworn I had commented on this post, but I guess not. Great story and shots, even if I did feel a bit schizofrenic at times with the two planes :icon_thumbup:
  3. Great leg Marcellus. Entertaining story and some great shots. Where did you find the Kodiak? I've been looking for a good GA model with glass cockpit, but most models seem to be with old school steam gauges. @Andrew: I'm no expert on real life aviation, but I doubt they use the reversers as a replacement for pushback with jets. I'd imagine that the jet wash would wreck havoc with the jetways and other ground equipment. I have seen some videos of turbo props that use that method thuogh.
  4. Great stuff Kieran.. a very entertaining post..
  5. Great shot. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how that plane moved to leave those vapour trails As for help from the cabin, even if they wanted to, I doubt they would have made it to the cockpit

    A rare event

Almost looks like you have more snow than we have in Stockholm at the moment, I'd say we have somewhere between 20 and 30 cm, with more coming down today.. The good thing about it snowing today is that we finally have some cloud coverage. It's been totaly clear skies for a few days, and with clear skies this time of year comes the cold with temperatures dropping down to around -20... brrrr. I think the lowest recorded around here was -26 a few nights ago.
  7. Sure wouldn't want that job.. I was actually surprised that they were allowed to climb with out safety lines. At least they strapped themselfs in before getting to work on changing the light bulb..
  8. please do share those settings with the rest of us... it looks so realistic
  9. Thanks guys. I figured out the problem with the SID by the way.. Since the release of FSX Charlotte (KCLT) have added one runway, so what was called Runway 36L in FSX was actually 36C in the Navigraph update I got for the CS 767, but since this was unknown to me at the time of the flight I natrually picked a SID for 36L... and 36L does look like it lines up well with the first fix in the SID I choose...
  10. Oh, I think I know what scenery that is then... Do you think they will have it ready in time for X-mas as promised in the news letter I got in my e-mail last night?? Regardles of the scenery, great shot...
  11. I seem to recall an autogyro in an early Bond movie too (prehaps even in Dr. No), but I can't recall that I ever saw one of those in black and white...
  12. Thanks Joe. And you won't have to wait long. In fact, it's right here. (Realized I wouldn't have time to post it tomorrow as I had planed) After a quick hop to Charlotte I had to find my way to the UPS flight. Lucky for me my friend had managed to have a follow me truck pick me up and drive to the Cargo Terminal. As we got close I saw a 767F getting it's belly stuffed with containers. The Co-pilot to be greated me with a smile as we pulled up, and informed me that I was cleared with management to pilot the 1 hour flight up Newark. We took our seats in the cockpit and started to run dow
  13. Happy Birthday Stefan.. So what will take up most of your time. The new Yoke or NFS??
  14. Late one night in Fayetteville the phone rang. On the other side was a very upset airport official from Fayetteville Regional Airport.. Offical: Where are you!! I want you down at the airport in 10 minutes. I have a strange blue thing here that you were supposed to pick up when it arrived.... Me: That strange blue thing is the famous ATWC Baton... Official: It can be the presidential seal for all I care, if you're not down here by the time I go home it's going into the garbage disposal!!! It's been waiting for ages, someone named Sharon even took the *bleeping* ting sightseeing so you coul
  15. Great leg Richard.. I just hope I will be able to find Sharon and the baton in time for my departure. You really shuldn't let her run of with that blue rod, one never knows what she'll be up to
  16. I do, for the sake of the reviewer, hope it wasn't in chinese.. (the developers are Hong Kong based). I did find an english manual on their website though. And it was written in better english than that present on the webpage...
  17. Looking at it some more it looks like most systems are modelled. The only thing missing is the FMC. It's available as an 3rd party add-on, but only to FS9 as far as I can understand. EDIT: Scratch that last statement. The FS9 only part was the supplied inclusion of the FMC-kit into the aircraft, but the FMC works in FSX too, you just need to know how to put in there.
  18. This is the dev site for the one I found.. http://www.precisionaerobus.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=93 Doesn't look like the same one you found.. And as for the cartoonish look to the cockpit, I can live with that if it's a well modelled aircraft with some kind of complexity to the systems...
  19. I've been looking for a good rendition of the Fokker 50 for a while now, and stumbeled on to this on in The Flightsim Store after setting my credit card on fire while ordering some OrbX scenery (reviewing the Pacific Fjords scenery turned out to be an expensive task  ). Does anyone know if it's any good?? Among other features it claims to have this "Check Lists Integrated file system with voice" A nice feature if it works... Looks rather nice, but the VC looks a bit cartoonish.. I won't be taking the plunge on this one right now, I have enough new planes to fly with pre-order
  20. Good thing that little cessna was squaking.. would most likely have been a much worse situation if ATC hadn't seen it and intervened...
  21. Great stuff Kieran.. And to top of the great shots you also managed to work a bit of Fawlty Towers in to it :icon_thumbup:
  22. I'll give it a try and see if I can get it to work. But I'll wait until I'm done with the Pacific Fjords Review.
  23. I'd have to agree with the bland look of Austraila in it's default shape. I haven't tried the OzX stuff my self, but I have been lurking around there, and from what I understand there's also a freeware terrain mesh made by Holger Sandmann (the brain behind Tongass Fjords and OrbX Pacific Fjords) that could be worth looking at.. Not sure where to find it though... EDIT: Found the download link http://myftx.com/FTX_AU_BLUE/FTXAUHOLGERMESH100_SP3.zip It's a 76m mesh, so should be a big boost to your terrain compared to the default...
  24. It aims to be a freeware replacement for TrackIR that uses a basic webcam with face tracking instead of the TrackIR head-"mounted" IR tracker... More info here. Might give this a shot, even if support for FSX and FS9 is so far only in the Beta stage.
