  1. Bit of a different take on rough weather. A Merlin landing in low visibility. Moody descent into FAJS.
  2. That's the one. Over to you, Tim.
  3. Thank you. The city nearby is old, but not as old as the nearby mountain, which is so old it's biblical.
  4. Yes it is. Too easy I see. Over to you, sir.
  5. Thank you, Needles. Should be easy, this one. Clue: This shot was taken at midday. (The scenery is add-on scenery and the airport tower in the background is quite accurate).
  6. Well, a Counterfeit Sycamore could be a false sycamore and there's a kind of sycamore, the Scottish Maple, that is thought to be sycamore but isn't (the acer pseudoplatanus). Then, the only bights I could find were big things, but the only two that fit the tree clue were off the coast of England and Germany. So, it has to be around there somewhere. Eday seemed to fit the angle in the picture and, one runway is grass, the other asphalt. Also, I just looked at Eday on Google Earth, and it looks remarkably like the screenshot.
  7. I'll take a wild guess. Eday, EGED?
  8. Yes! Baumholder AAF it is. Rally Germany features a stage held on the military training grounds at Baumholder, and Baumholder AAF is part of those grounds. Over to you.
  9. Close, but not Rallye de France. Look carefully at the car door (it's one of the reasons why I chose such a big picture). Part of the stage is held, not on the airfield itself, but within the military training grounds of which the airfield is part.
  10. How about Aircraft with Attitude? These would be aircraft that, while not the fastest, prettiest or most glamorous, have a certain something about them that makes you sit back and say; "Now that's got attitude." Think of them as the rock stars of the aviation world; no classical elegance, no soothing soul, just the attitude. Of course, the shot would need to have attitude as well! The song "Born to be Wild" captures some of the feel of what I'm going for. Here's a link. http://www.dailymoti...o-be-wild_music
  11. Ok, hopefully this one will be quite tough. Your only clue, other than the cockpit itself, is this...
  12. Dai's got it, I think. And the number of times I must have passed right over it...
  13. It's not in South America is it? The only airport I could find that looks anything remotely like that is Rafael Nunez (SKCG).
  14. Here are some shots of my latest aircraft. I went to the Waterkloof AFB airshow this past weekend and found this gem (at a gem-like price as well, but this particular shop is always expensive). This is the Classics Hangar FW-190, published by Flight1. Bit of an ugly duckling, but she grows on you. A nice feature of this particular package (Classics Hangar has a 'Late versions' package as well. This is the 'A versions' package) is that although these are all A-series aircraft, some of the minor variations within the series have been modeled. This is the A-4; an earlier variant. No a
  15. Here's my first; the de Havilland Vampire. An old shot, but one of my favs.

    Tilt Rotor

Mmm, now that people mention it, I reckon that that tight skirt, those high-heels and your average, narrow air-stairs may not go all that well together....

    Tilt Rotor

Here're some shots of my new helo/plane, courtesy of Mutley's Hanger's August screenshot contest - the Augusta/Bell Tilt Rotor. Here's the VC. The aircraft is not a procedural trainer, and is aimed at the casual simmer, but the VC looks good nonetheless. And there's a minigun in the military variant. And missiles! 'Cause there's no such thing as too much firepower. One of the default external views. Despite the fact that the Tilt Rotor is not the most intimidating of aircraft, the military version does manage to look good and scary. View from the tower. This is th
  18. Wow, that's a surprise! Thanks! Although, I can't help feeling sorry for the poor YF-23. It lost out against the F-22, and now it looses the screenshot contest as well.
  19. YF-23 at sunset. A Horten Ho-229. Two YF-23s at dusk.
  20. @Charlie. I don't normally comment on Prize Contest screenshots but I just had to comment on that one. Fantastic! Just absolutely fantastic! :icon_thumbup: :icon_bowdown:
  21. I was going through some old shots, found these and thought I'd share them. I managed to achieve this wonderfully atmospheric lighting effect, using just default FSX, and I've never managed to duplicate it. Anyway, I hope you like it. P.S. The title isn't mine. I adapted it from a book titled "Spirits in the Sky" that features a very similar picture, albeit with Mustang and not a Tigermoth.
  22. Ok. :icon_yikes: I didn't think it would be that easy. But yes, it is EDDK. Over to you, John. And Joe, yep, it is the Nordschleife (also known at one time as the Green Hell). The Zonda R did a lap of just 6:47.50.
  23. YMCA. Great clue: just like the 'friend' in 'speak, friend, and enter' from Lord of the Rings. :001_th_smiles89: And I quite like it, yes (the music, mind, just the music). During the credits for Down Periscope they did an updated version of 'In the Navy' that's just brilliant. :dance2: Fairly easy one, this. 1) The aircraft is a clue. 2) The airport in the picture is located 43 miles away from a very famous, or infamous, racing circuit (think of the Pagani Zonda R).
