Augusta/Westland Merlin at Giza Found an old pic: A Boeing 797 at Logan Intl (a bit fanciful, but it does have three engines). Birds of feather... -
- Sorry. For some reason the post appeared twice. -

Congratulations! A worthy winner indeed.

Canyonlands it is! The first clue referred to the city served by the airport - Moab, Utah, the Kingdom of Moab having been in quite a few conflicts with ancient Israel. The second clue referred to a wrestler, Chris Canyon, and would have indicated that the word 'Canyon' was in the airport's name. Jericho was also a clue, being close to the Kingdom of Moab in ancient times. The third one referred to the town of Jericho, also in Utah, and hopefully would have helped find the state. The fourth one was silly, as I was running out of clues. Dirt 2 has a stage set in Moab, and the capital of Ut

No one going to have a go? Clue 4: The area around the city plays host to a Dirt 2, desert trailblazer stage...and the state capital is salty.
-
Clue 3: There's more than one Jericho in the world, and in this case, there's a Jericho in this state.
-
Second clue: As for the airport's name, you're not looking for Chris Jericho so much as Chris _____ . (though Jericho might help with the first clue)
-
Thanks. Here's the new one. Clues: This is a GA airport that serves a city with a biblical-sounding name (the Israelites had quite a few tussles with them).

Hill AFB, KHIF?
-
Yep, that's it. Over to you, Joe.

My mistake. "largest" is perhaps the wrong word. It is large, in that an entire town lies within the crater and is named after the town. And it is larger than the more famous Barringer Crater. So, to make up for that mistake I'll give three more clues: 1) The crater's estimated age is less than 300 million years. 2) The town itself was named after a town in England, then the spelling was changed slightly by the U.S. Post Office (but both spellings are acceptable). 3) The town is one of the few towns in the world to be built completely inside an impact crater.
-
Clue: It shares its name with a former English premier league football team.
-
Clue 2: This airport sits within an impact crater, one of the largest.

Well, the Great Spirit clue made me think of America. After that I searched for beautiful bodies of water and found a result that mentioned a lake in New Hampshire - not the one you named there but close enough - that allowed me to find it (the lake's named started with an 'S'). So, pure luck on my part. Here's the new one: Clue: We live on a world of wonders...

Laconia Mun, KLCI?

Atlas Cheetah C it is. Over to you Andrew.
-
This is a, hopefully, tricky one. It is obvious what this is; but then again, it might not be. I'm looking for the manufacturer and name.

A-10 Thunderbolt?
-
Ambri, Switzerland it is! Former military base that played host to the Hawker Hunter. And Switzerland also played host to Clarkson in the Veyron: the clue being a reference to the gag where the "The Sound of Music" warbled away over idyllic Swiss pasture, only to have the Veyron come screaming by. Over to you Dai.
-
Not quite. Further north. The Veyron clue is reference to a Top Gear challenge. Another screenshot:
-
Another clue: The hills are alive with the sound of...the Bugatti Veyron. (might help you find the country)
-
Thanks John. So, here's the next one... Clue: A onetime roosting spot for Hunters.
-
Bass Guitars would also have been a good clue. Can't believe I missed it. Great stuff John. Anyway, as Dai said, 3X5 is one of them.

Something old... Over Marseille

Only one for now. Number two: And three:
