  1. This is a very brief (25 seconds) video...I kept it short in the hope that it would just STREAM form my website. However, my download manager prefers to download it (just takes a couple of seconds) and I'm not sure how to get round that. It looks best in Windows Media Player in Full Screen Mode and needs your sound on about half volume:- http://www.petermcle...eo/Ducks-HD.avi Thanks for looking
  2. Yes Dai...it is an extension to McLeland Field into the ravine...I will be building two ranches. One down each side of the lake I am not a modeller...Just a "Lego" builder using other people's beautiful models to make my scenery.
  3. Got the Traffic working in the ravine and it now has a dock...So I've started the Ranch on the left bank:- It will look better when I have added reeds, rocks and ducks! Thanks for looking
  4. P3D is only 32 bit still and therefore will only look at 3 GBs of memory...even of you have a 64 bit OS like Windows 7. The software would need to be re-written for proper 64 bit operation.
  5. Yes Joe...The Traffic is the same as my FS9 setup with the same FS9 Aircraft with the 737s of Alaska Airways and the 727s of various, including cargo versions. My old Trident 3 also features on its service to Seattle. The cruise ships are as before and so is all the floatplane traffic in the bay. Even the windsurfers are working but I have them turned off for Winter. The only thing I have left out is the sharks as they were a bit of a drain on resources. The bi-annual Staff Tour set off today and that uses an old Comet 4. I'm looking forward to the ORBX scenery for this region as that will mak
  6. It was very wet today so I spent the time watching the Traffic at McLeland Field:- I'm driving around in my trusty Austin K2 Ambulance. The taxiway is very wet but my hefty machine is easy to steer. Echo looks a bit drowned and the F-16s have their canopies open when parked! The Trident from Seattle has just landed. I'm now following this Emerald HS748... ...as it makes its way... ...towards its... ...destination at... ...McLeland Field and... ...touches down on a very wet runway with standing water. I think he might be feeling glad to have arrived. Meanwhil
  7. ...in the P3D version of McLeland Field... ...on her normal parking slot. This is the AI Traffic version of Echo... ...taxying out for a local sortie...Note the F-16s are back too. She now wears four external wing tanks and has a 1400nm range. Lining up ahead of the American... ...and airborne on a local recce... ...and tank test. It is Autumn and the larches still have their gold leaves. The light is strange here at this time of year but the Sun's water path makes a nice picture. Back on the ground now and taxying in, past some very scenic views. The Guard "St
  8. We got in here pretty late last night... ...so we decided on a few quick hours in an hotel. Back again at Dawn and... ...ready for a really early... ...departure... ...in the pink... ...early light... ...of Dawn. Thanks for looking
  9. This is the Hawker 800XP BizJet, flying in the simulator, Prepar3D...The location is McLeland Field and the landing is not very tidy! The video runs for just two minutes and is best viewed with the Quality clicked up to 1080p and the Full Screen icon at bottom right corner clicked. Thanks for looking
  10. View from the Tower of my new toy in P3D A odd angle that is one of the built in set of views I rather like this livery A view out of a passenger window...that is an old Traffic BOAC CARGO B707 The office is pretty nice and I think I will like it The glass is slightly tinted but I might get used to it I do like the overhead panel Finally here is a stepped back central view of the office...I certainly like the Ram's Horn yokes, but naturally after 10 years of using them, I would! This model is sold by Just Flight and I'm just working through the manual after one quick flig
  11. I changed my mind about the tree screens for the fighter dispersals, but I replaced them with ORBX trees rather than the original Garrish Grey trees, which don't work so well in FSX/P3D. I can land and take-off the Beaver in the Ravine now, so I will keep it here
  12. Thanks for the comments Gents...I'm still working away at my base in P3D and rather enjoying the brain exercise
  13. Yes Dai, apparently they are American Larches, a deciduous conifer and they go gold in the Autumn and then bald in the Winter
  14. As I carry on working on my ravine, the changing season makes me wonder if there should be quite so much Autumnal colour in these pine trees. However, it is very pretty!
  15. This is the De Havilland Beaver at Longview Ranch. The video runs for under three minutes and is best viewed with the Quality clicked up to 1080p and the Full Screen icon at bottom right corner clicked. The scenery is by ORBX. Thanks for looking
  16. Thanks Joe...Of course that last shot is payware and nothing to do with McLeland Field. Longview Ranch has a lot of "ObjectFlow" with animation of people, animals, and birds...That line of ducks, a female followed by a line of ducklings and with a lone male hovering nearby, really do swim around and make quacking noises
  17. The Beach Hut is now restored... ...along with its pontoon and refuelling point... ...for Seaplanes. Talking of Seaplanes...Here is the Beaver at Longview Ranch...There are a line of quacking ducks swimming under the tail.
  18. The Gravestone has surfaced again on the beach... ...and in the right circumstances the Ghost Tower appears over it. The Flight with the Ghost Tower visible can be saved...but when you load that flight again, the Ghost Tower has vanished
  19. Brett, Probably, when it is finished and with all its Traffic working in P3D...That might be next year when version 2 of P3D is released. I have quite a lot to do yet as the Traffic side of my base is very complex with Cruise Ships, Sailing Boats, Windsurfers, Guard Vehicles, GA aircraft, Airliners, Bizjets and 36 F-16s that visit twice a week. All that has to be converted from FS9 to P3D
  20. Thanks Joe and John... Here is another, taken from a distance, in daylight:-
  21. The structure is now complete except for tree planting. The Traffic will have to wait for P3D version 2 next year:- I settled for my old terminal buildings as the more modern ones were not as nice. One nice spin off from putting in my old terminal buildings was that the animations on the wind farm rotors and my airport radar now work again...There was no rotation with the FSX models and the old rotating models from FS9 were in the same file as my old terminals and my setup prefers them and uses them instead of the FSX ones. I put in the ring of fire for air display days only, with a desk
  22. Thanks Brett...I edited my previous answer above
  23. I would really like that fix but it is impossible to send a PM to the author of those fixes. I wonder if anyone who has it could email it to me. Thanks Brett...Strangely that file does not change anything when I put it in instead of the existing one. However, I noticed that there was another CAB for the GPS on the Carenado Centurian so I copied that file and renamed it for the Skymaster and that has fixed it OK.
  24. I think they must have fixed that Mike as it is not present in P3D...However, there is a drawback to the ramped scenery in that AI traffic (when it starts working) will not be able to use it. Good point about P3D itself being 32 bit...I had not thought of that.
