  1. One point twenty-one jiggerbytes downloading now. When this baby hits 88, we're gonna see some serious s---! (Doc Brown mode off! )
  2. Sounds like it might be an FSX equivalent to X-Plane's OSM2XP... in that case (actually, I just looked, and OSM2XP - also French - already supports FSX) http://osm2xp.com/
  3. It was a quid cheaper at the show! And you can't get it signed on Amazon...
  4. Generally PERF is what the pilot wants to fly at, and ECON is what whoever pays the bills tells the pilot to fly at.
  5. PERF is the best performance speed of the aircraft, typically at 75% power output or full throttle. ECON can be either best endurance or best range performance according to preference, although typically it's the 55% or 65% power setting from the POH. All values assume the engine has been correctly leaned. For example, for a Cessna 172N cruising at 6000ft PA in ISA conditions, 75% (PERF) cruise = 120KTAS, 8.4GPH (2600RPM) 54% (ECON) Cruise = 104KTAS 6.2GPH (2300RPM) Obviously these values will vary according to temperature and altitude, and so the values set in Plan-G are there si
  6. What do you mean by "Nobody can create scenery for XPX"? There *is* scenery for XPX, just not very much, and not generally of a high standard.
  7. Even Excel bowed to the (then) might of Lotus 1-2-3 and provided command and macro compatibility. If you want to win, you have to play the game; you can't sit on the sidelines and proclaim you're not playing (which is effectively what Justin is doing) and expect the market share to come running.
  8. The biggest problems with X-Plane are (a) the lack of *any* scenery at default airports (b) the Americanisation of the globe (if you thought FSX was bad for making everywhere look like America, X-Plane is even worse) © the cack-arsed controls - I spend way more time fighting the sim than flying the plane (d) the (general) quality of scenery addons is still in the FS9 era, even now. There are some standout sceneries, and it can easily be made to look as good as anything Orbx have cranked out, but lack of decent competition (HINT!) means many devs have not upped their game. (e) there are
  9. So are the others working with GenX? EGHI is obviously off the table, but I could certainly be interested in the rest *if* they can be made to work.

    What are you suggesting????
  11. Mapquest has topography now, down to at least zoom level 9, and even further in the US (I don't often find I need more than level 9 on the zoom)
  12. What you meant to say was There are three hundred and sixty ways of describing VOR's ways, and every single one of them is a radial!
  13. Armstrong & Miller have been doing those RAF Pilot sketches for years - it's just modern street slang dressed up in 1940s vintage accents. Usually they're trying to skive off in some way. See here for loads of examples http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=armstrong+and+miller+raf&oq=armstrong+&gs_l=youtube.1.2.0l10.147970.150701.0.154543.10.6.0.4.4.0.113.391.5j1.6.0...0.0...1ac.1.11.youtube.cwvhVK8GJg4
  14. Some say he can outfly a flock of geese at fifty feet... All we know is, he's called The Stig.
  15. Your, um (cough) screenshots look a little "photo-real" there, Andy Awesome
  16. But Which FTX? FTX Normandie or FTX Picardie or FTX Provence or FTX Aquitaine or...
  17. They could do with taking a leaf out of Orbx's book when it comes to their grass. It does rather look like a freshly sprouted crop field, all identically cloned plants in neat rows... But otherwise, it looks very impressive
