Malaysia Airlines 777-200ER Missing In Flight

There is an exception rule in place. English is the official recognised language for air traffic control, however there is an opt-out. A good few years ago there was an accident at Paris (Orly I think) where the controller was talking French to an Air Liberté flight and English to another (Shorts 330). Result - the S330 entered the runway too early and the co-pilot was killed. Russia also opts out but more for deep dark internal stuff (I believe to fly solo in a General Aviation aircraft in Russia you have to be fluent in Russian) -
Superb shots and aircraft there Kasper!

Regards JAL123, there was apparently nearly 100 survivors just after the crash, but due to the Japanese authorities not allowing a USAF 'copter to help that night, only 4 survived the night -
I have used FSAirliners and am currently a pilot member. Not had any problems personally, but have heard of some problems like the one you have

Great PIREP Joe! Lowering the radar dome on the Shackleton doesn't have that much of an effect on speed, unlike yours! -

I would guess that it'll fly Newfoundland - Greenland/Iceland - Northern Ireland/Scotland - England, since that's the kind of route they travelled when they were originally built As for seeing them - would be a wonderful experience. Then, when Just Jane is flying......... -
Superb shots and story there Brett!

Just to note - Chuck WAS NOT flying......
