  1. I know you were being flippant mate. Lol. Yes that gauge is a mystery. I have the full DVD and I'll be damned if I can find what it is. One reason I'm very interested in the stupid little thing is I'm due to pick up some real panels on Friday, which contain the cut out for the instrument. The place I'm getting them from just breaks Aircraft and has no clue what the parts really are. ( I had to show him a picture of the centre MIP because he didn't know what the MIP was.). But I'm also really curious what it is in general. It's a very odd part.
  2. Another likely candidate. As it happens John, the DDRMI below the standby artificial horizon is being removed from some aircraft. Apparently it's not required with all the modern tech on board. It's kinda sad.
  3. Check out this video. Around 5 minutes in you see the gauge on the captains side. Annoyingly this is an A319 which muddies the water even more. Plus if you look above the captains side, what the hell is that draw thing?
  4. Andrew, I don't think so. I've only seen this on two or three aircraft, all early frames. John, it could be, but I've not seen it clearly enough to work out what it is.
  5. Hey guys, So I'm trying to find out a bit about the early A320's. Specifically, I'm trying to work out what the hell this extra instrument found on some A320's is. If you take a look at the picture below, on the left of the captains PFD and below the cockpit lighting panel is a gauge that I can't identify. Anyone got any clue what it is?<img src="http://fs-snaps.com/images/2016/01/27/image.jpg" alt="image.jpg" border="0">Both the captain and co pilot have this gauge. Any ideas guys. Jess B
  6. Must admit, I've been looking forward to this one.
  7. There's no escaping the fact that when is comes to drinking, Mutley is in a class of his own. Having met up with him on arrival at SBJC, all I remember is a bottle of Bacardi and then nothing. Right now all I have to show for myself is a splitting headache. The headache though is the least of my problems. I have absolutely no idea of where I am. There's no city and me, and instead I seem to be out in the countryside. What the hell do Joe do this time. I do a quick check to confirm I still have all my kidneys, liver (whose going to steal that though?) and I'm relieved to find I'm in one piece.
  8. Personally, I dread to think. I'm guessing around 50 to 100 depending on the sim involved, and out of those I fly maybe 20 regularly. My main squeeze is my A320, then maybe the A2A Comanche and the excellent LHC Epic LT. The rest are just fun run arounds Jess B
  9. If my memory serves, the first batch is YRED reddington (I think), then a shot from Coffs Harbour, them Melbourne and finally Sydney. All of them are freeware for X plane 10
  10. Here a few shots from around Australia YRED Coffs Harbour YMML YSSY
  11. That is a brilliant price. Lots of value for money, and that's before Brian got his discount.
  12. Hey Wayne, 1. Ils frequency is automatically tuned if you've chosen your arrival runway in the 'Flt Plan' page. If you want to set it manually, just type the frequency in to the rad nav page, and hit the right key. The ils text on the mcdu will be displayed in a larger font that the rest. 2. Transition altlitude is easy. The aircraft will blink the pressure setting to get hour attnetion when it wants to be changed. 3. Fs2crew. Well I'm a bit rusty, but I believe you install the fs2crew then you select 'fs2crew' using the Aerosoft configuator found in your 'Aerosoft' folder in your start
  13. Gentlemen, I'm afraid I have to lock this thread due to the discussion of modifying the Welshpool airport to work with other scenery. Unfortunately this falls foul of ORBX's EULA and as the post is hosted here on the Hangar, we potentially leave ourselves open to litigation. I hope you understand. Jess B Mutley's Crew
  14. This is an Orbx FTX airport, and as such a copy of FTX: EU Wales must be installed prior to use. Welshpool is the latest in a long line of airports from developers Andreas Hegi, Heiko Glatthorn, and Alex Goff. Previous works include KORS Orcas Island, 1S2 Darrington, and PAHO Homer. The first add-on airport for the Wales region is Welshpool (Mid Wales) Airport. Situated 4 kilometres south of the town of Welshpool, along the River Severn, this charming airfield is host to a lively general aviation scene. Mid Wales Airport is home to the Mid Wales Air Ambulance and host to an annual airshow.
  15. Product description: The Airport Southwest Florida International is located on the south-western coast of Florida and is the second busiest single-runway airport in the U.S. handling around 8 million passengers. The first plans for building this airport date back to 1973; ten years later it opened as “Southwest Florida Regional Airport”. In 1993 it got its present name. At the same time the runway was expanded from 8,400 ft to 12,000 ft. Since then, the airport has been expanded several times. For example, in 2005 a new terminal building was opened after the old one had exceeded its capacity
  16. New York City XP is a scenery of New York metropolitan area in the United States of America. This scenery is one of the most complex add-ons for flight simulators, featuring 2500 sq km of high resolution terrain with autogen and over 6300 custom-made New York buildings. This product is compatible with Laminar Research X-Plane 10 New York is the most populous city in the United States and the center of the New York Metropolitan Area, one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. The city is referred to as New York City or the City of New York to distinguish it from the State of N
  17. Hi Wayne, Plain and simple, it's Orbx England. If I fly with Orbx England installed, I'm almost certain to get a OOM. It's just awful. I don't know why, but the Orbx uk stuff is horrendous on VAS. Try uninstalling it and rerun the flight. As for p3d v3, I can confirm that vas handling is miles ahead of 2.5. Jess B
  18. I did Brian, and I believe they have my application from the last round. Hopefully my name will pop up.
  19. The word 'excited' has lost all meaning thanks to this announcement. The A320 is loooooong overdue. Ps I'd like to request the review if it comes out ever. . (Thanks Andrew xxxxxx).
  20. Hi Wayne, I can answer a few of your questions. 1. Changing the approach. This one can be done several ways. The easiest way is to change the approach in the MCDU. To do this just click on the flight plan button, then the arrival airport ICAO. (You can also just click the 'airport' button for the same effect.) This will bring up the list of approaches. Just select the required approach along with the needed STAR. Once you've chosen that, you can select 'temporary insert' on the bottom right button of the MCDU screen. The route will turn yellow. You can then remove any out of place waypoin
  21. Did someone mention Airbus. . Wain, the Aerosoft Airbus is a great aircraft to cut your 'heavy metal' teeth on. The added extras likes the co pilot is a great way to learn the checklists and procedures. If you need any help, let me know. Jess B Airbus Gremlin
  22. As I don't have time to write the trip up at the minute, I though I'd just post a few screenshots to let you enjoy.
  23. I was lucky enough to experience a Vulcan landing way back in the early 90's. I was stood between two hangars at RAF St. Athan and the old girl came in to land. The runway was very close. . The noise. . That said the VC-10 tanker that came in behind her wasn't exactly quiet either.
