I am a great believer in the American phrase "there aint no such thing as a free lunch" and the English phrase "beware of Greeks bearing gifts" however it would appear that M.S. are going to give windows 10 away if you "convert" in the first year their announcement goes : Free Upgrade Offer Great news! We will offer a free upgrade to Windows 10 for qualified new or existing Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices that upgrade in the first year!* And even better: once a qualified Windows device is upgraded to Windows 10, we will continue to keep it up to date for the

I used air jamaica quite a bit when i lived in the caribs I still think they had one of the best colour schemes out there, that reflected the sun and sea etc for which Jamaica is famous. Sadly they are now down to operating four 738's in a slightly different colour scheme , this is what happens when a national airline stops being funded by its nation

2014, hottest year on record!
britfrog replied to MartinW's topic in Members General & Announcements
having spent the first 20 years of my life in the bahamas and still conversing with my school friends i can say without bfear of contradiction that the last 3 years have produced less big hurricanes than the last 20 years Fact despite each year NOAA predicting a higher than normal quantity of grade 4 hurricanes just shows what they know they are great at tracking a real one but prediction wise they are on a par with SIR Michael Fish -
2014, hottest year on record!
britfrog replied to MartinW's topic in Members General & Announcements
statistics, damn statistics and outright lies, one group of scientists are proposing a new ice age based on the fact that ocean temperatures are dropping dramatically and this is why we have had far less hurricanes than normal over the last 3 years, another group is saying the hole in the ozone is getting larger whilst another says it is getting smaller, it is all scare tactics to get some government or another to fund their research which amounts to much moolah in their pockets over the next 5 years they are as bad as the pharmacuticals, who can releave the symptoms of many illnesses but sur -

so it appears Chris, I used to fly there every year for the TT , the last half a dozen times with several other a/c , i used to hire a 56 seat coach (for about 15-20 of us) driven by a lovely old boy who had a wind up gramaphone player balanced on the engine cover and he played old george formby records all day long. it was so corny it was unreal but great as well, , but he knew every little lane to get us close to the action even if the roads were closed. He always made sure we said hello to the fairies as well. hopefully someone will take up distributing the ES stuff so that I can get i

I have Guernsey and Alderney which are quite good and would have bought IOM but didnt like their installation method or their , in my opinion, overly difficult web site. Perhaps other potential purchasers were put off like me leading to the lack of sales? Hopefully someone will buy the rights to their software and continue to distribute it. Hopefully we shall see them back perhaps creating scenery iin their spare time.

Patrick i am using version 9.51 (04/042014) and cannot reproduce this problem, however make sure the 3rd box down is ticked (show plan) you also have a show plan icon on the tool bar as well (the 11th from the left) , this switches the plan on or off , other than that the prog must have a bit of corruption or need updating. the only other thought is it perhaps showing on another monitor? or behind something? also if you havent already install flip 3d it will allow you to see all the progs that are fired up, this was originally part of windows vista but is hidden in win7 see this vid

despite having deep reservations about steam, at least they have started on the right foot with some sensible changes, after all they have quite a few years of work to catch up on, good for them!

no doubt most of you have seen this sad news, needless to say the naysayers are already blaming Popham airfield as being too dangerous, which is a load of bull. having spoken to my friends there, the clouds were virtually on the tree tops so it would appear the pilot was scud running and of course Popham is on a hill top, it woud appear that he was trying to find popham, using the white stick and gps method.

Product Review Alabeo Cessna 207 'Skywagon'
britfrog replied to mutley's topic in News and Press Releases
the reality andrew seems to escape you as always the plane does not reproduce anywhere near book figures , they managed to do quite a good job with the 210 and others but they didnt research this a/c sufficiently I admit my expectations were high but so were many others who have also expressed dismay It may have also escaped your notice that this was not a dig at your review but a criticism of the alabeo product so get off your dead horse you have already flogged it to death -
Product Review Alabeo Cessna 207 'Skywagon'
britfrog replied to mutley's topic in News and Press Releases
I have to say i had been holding my breath for ages , well since fsx was released, that someone would one day make this a/c, as i am the second highest houred caa registered pilot on this a/c type. I offered my services to Alabeo to be a beta tester but received no answer but I did register my fear that they would just make it a big 172 , which the 207 most certainly is NOT!! As the 207 will bite big time, the unsuspecting pilot or lazy pilot especially on landing ( i feel another real world ramble coming on to exemplify this) having installed the a/c and spent a few hours trying it out -
its a nice thought but I dont think I write well enough,

I did hear that all water in his house was passed by the management

what a bl--dy awful landing!! if you have faulty undercarriage the last thing you do is throw it at the ground, and bounce it in case the rest give way. that is one pilot today who will be going through retraining and masses of sim time before being let loose again.

whilst gloom and doom surround the recent air accidents people should understand how professional most air crews are, this gives some indication: What Air Crash Investigations Didn't Tell You About QF32 (Airbus A380)
