    757 Again...

I think its a great effort and love the aspect of the picture. It maybe feels a little dark with a shadow that strong and maybe a little more care when cutting images in as you can see cuts between fuselage and trees. Nice work... steve
  2. Hey chaps just another quickie after messing with PS. 2 Spaniards taxi out. Cheers.... steve
  3. The clocks went forward today ?!?!? But how did that make you get up early? Surely you lost an hour and got up late. Anyhoo...great flight and loved some of those skies. steve
  4. Cheers guys, It was only a quick edit but yes Phantoms are certainly nice planes. I'm quite enjoying digging out vintage jets as they seem to ooze character. She is the cloud 9 model Joe and is mighty fine imo. Certainly lacks interest from repainters compared to the vast amount for the Alphasim model but this version has much more meat in the pit. Thanks for looking her over guys, will do some more shots soon. steve
  5. Hey guys. Not posted anything for some time as busy at work and also working through my upcoming Finland leg of the ATWC. So here is a quick shot just to let you know i'm still here  The F-4 Phantom. More to come soon  Take care... steve
  6. Excellent post with great shots and commentary. Love to here a few geographic locations on route. The contrails shot is great and very much like home, as i live near a nav beacon and at this time of year theres is rarely no contrails. Only the other day had the pleasure of a tanker with 4 F-15's all at high alt. The song was good too, intresting hearing what others like to listen too. Not a band i have heard of either. All in all, great job! steve
  7. Cessna 'Tardis' 159c maybe ???? Nice shot, look forward to the shots :eyebrow: steve
  8. Hehe Joe, spot on entertainment, loved it! Better than most bond films!! :eyebrow: steve
  9. A great review Joe. I certainly got my use out of the 2004 version but am torn between the many photoreal packages and using overall coverage by UTX. I may be wrong and if you mentioned it i'm sorry but in your review did you use a mesh ? Mostly i find FSX to be better in the mesh department than FS9 but still too flat for my liking. One problem i had with the 2004 FS global mesh was lakes in norway 100' in the air which is really off putting. Where as i have a fantastic freeware mesh for the alps with no such problems. So was just wondering if you had used one along side UTX and what its like
  10. A very enjoyable flight with a very different landing style Nice story to boot. Good Job! steve
  11. Hey Martyn. Seems the c-130 is a popular choice, looks mighty fine in that skin though, very nicely weathered. You certainly like your interior shots. Nice job getting her down with 2 out on one wing, must have pulled heavy to the right. Nice post :tattle: steve
  12. I think you have found the right balance  Good job! steve

    Zeppelin

Cheers 1mag and David although i have no idea where you heard Robert Plant flies for Astraeus or is even a pilot. steve
  14. Looks like you have a mesh issue. I have lakes in Norway a 100 feet from the ground using FS global. steve
  15. Fantastic post Panos, can see the effort you have put in here and there are many quality shots. Good job!! steve
  16. Your now heading in the right direction my friend. Looks so much better than two small streams following your engines  Always remember the more distant the background the more distorted it looks through heat. In your latest edit i would of put a very slight ripple as the thrust disperses starting from the grass line above the runway catching the taxing aircraft and what looks like some greenhouses. The runway is far too close to look distorted. steve

    Zeppelin

Cheers guys appreciate you looking it over. Dai with regards to the rolf comment my wife said......"Yeah right!!"......she really likes Led Zeppelin, hehe. steve
  18. A fantastic post, glad you came aboard and good job getting the baton safely through another Leg. steve

    Zeppelin

Hey guys, Nope not a balloon of hot air but Caesars Chariot, luxury travel of the band, Led Zeppelin for their 77 tour. The aircraft is the Boeing 707 then owned by Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Cheers... steve.
  20. Imagine i think what your talking about is not recreating heat distortion but the actual thrust of the aircraft. Simply making your ripple large is going to make it look like water. Thrust, starts out as a very precise blast from the engine and gradually disperses. The result is quite often a very sharp blurred area sometimes a cone sometimes a straight blast but this is very dependant on the engine in question. The DC 10 for example has a very unique cone on its tail mounted engine. In this area of thrust i would use no ripple at all only blur with a very precise shape. After this would follo
  21. Hey Imagine. You have the idea right you just need to tone it back a bit. The ripple effect you are using is too large for this kind of distortion and thus looks a little un realistic. Usually i choose the area for heat making sure only i only select distant objects. You don't see heat blur much on up close objects. Then with a small Ocean ripple/Glass add a small sized effect till i'm happy. If i want more i will reduce the selection and maybe increase the size a little but not too much. I often add Blur too and sometimes only blur as many aviation pictures i've seen you can barely see a rip
  22. Some very nice shots in there well done. Some interesting clouds you have and how on earth did those birds not pass through the engine steve
  23. I saw the link to the review over at aerosoft. As you know i have it already but was a good read. Nice work Joe... steve
  24. Its been very interesting seeing this one develop simi. I think you have done a great job and you should be proud. Listening to those at screenshot world always helps, some of their shots are pure artwork. Good job simi !! steve
  25. Hey John. I think you did very well considering the difficulties. I can imagine your frustration as i had a C-130 flight CTD half way through a flight in Venezuela ATWC. What actually happened to your Graphics, sudden blurries and jaggies are never a good thing. It's a shame you had such a hard time of it, i for one really enjoyed my ATWC legs. Good show old chap! steve
