G1000 Direct Flight planning.
Andrew Godden replied to Onward79's topic in Flight Simulator X (FSX) / FSX Steam Edition
James, When you made your original post, I was actually on a flight in the Phenom 300 where I had used the method described in the manual using the G1000 and the GCU 477 Control Unit to successfully create a multi stage flight plan. You keep referring to the Cessna 172 Skyhawk G1000 and being able to create a flight plan there, but the Phenom 300 unit, whilst similar, has subtle differences, so forget the Cessna G1000 process. The final option is the second option I mentioned, where you uninstall the Navigraph extension pack and use either FSX or Plan-G to c -
G1000 Direct Flight planning.
Andrew Godden replied to Onward79's topic in Flight Simulator X (FSX) / FSX Steam Edition
James, If I recall, you also purchased and installed the Navigraph extension pack for the Embraer Phenom 300. The Navigraph extension pack does not allow you to load a flight plan in the normal manner using the FSX Menu commands. To create a flight plan, you must use the G1000 and GCU 477 Control Unit and create it manually. Two options: Read the G1000 Phenom 300 PDF document - pages 24 - 27 describe in detail how to create a flight plan using G1000 and GCU 477 Control Unit. Uninstall the Navigraph extension pack - this is the easiest option and allows you -
And they say 2017 is going to be even worse because the surviving celebrities are getting older.

There is no .exe file. You start FSX SE, as you would normally, and select the aircraft from the aircraft selection menu in the flight sim, in the same way you would select any other aircraft. If the aircraft is not available from the aircraft selection menu, you haven't installed it correctly.
-
That's because the Carenado Phenom 300 has installed to your flight sim...nothing installs to the Desktop or the Start Menu. You have not been specific in stating what it is you expect to see on the Desktop or Start Menu, but all pdf manuals can be accessed directly from the C\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fsx\Carenado\EMB505_Phenom300 folder, or similar location.

My omniscient being, that blatant BLAST was CHILLing.
-
In answer to your original question, all of them, and yes, the Phenom 300 is a great aircraft and definitely worth buying.
-
If the funds weren't transacted in escrow, they probably wouldn't take delivery of the aircraft.
-
Yeah, that's just the base price for a standard Boeing 747-400X - it all seems pretty normal to me.

Mike, Not wanting to contradict Arnie, but I have never had to disable the five Vector scenery entries in the Scenery Library that he mentions - and I am always flying in the Northern Hemisphere, "Down Under", and New Zealand. Oh, and just on a minor point, "Down Under" and New Zealand are two different countries. I assume since the re-download and reinstall, it has fixed the errors displayed in your first screenshot. I have occasionally encountered the problem in the second screenshot with some airports and this can sometimes be caused the Orbx Libraries. In particula

My FSX world is changing....what is happening?
Andrew Godden replied to Tristarcaptain's topic in General
I'm sure others will confirm my thoughts, but running FSX off an installation on an external HDD is not recommended for pure performance reasons. As frustrating as it seems, under such circumstances, biting the bullet and pursuing the full reinstall option is the best as it eliminates any other corruptions/problems which may have been introduced as part of this situation. It often occurs that once a problem of this nature appears, it is either difficult to fully "repair" and/or other problems start to appear as well. -
Jim, Yes, the AEC configuration tool gives you the total ability to add and remove individual airports to and from the exclude list manually. Cheers Andrew

Gavoon, If you want to be that serious about flight planning, and flying something as advanced as PMDG aircraft, you need to seriously consider Aerosoft's PFPX. A review is available on the following link. http://www.mutleyshangar.com/reviews/bc/pfpx/pfpx.htm

Simulator fade and return
Andrew Godden replied to cramtune's topic in Flight Simulator X (FSX) / FSX Steam Edition
Alf, To be honest, the information you provide is insufficient to try and identify the problem. I can't even be sure I have even heard of such a problem being attributed to FSX. The information about the PC's Performance Base is irrelevant in this instance. The sort of additional information necessary to try and understand what might be causing this anomaly includes, what additional add-ons have you installed, scenery, aircraft, etc; have you installed or done anything to the FSX installation prior to this anomaly appearing; have you made any manual adjustments to your -
Rodrigo, I would suggest doing a YouTube search on flying the Just Flight TriStar. Just Flight and/or other flight simmers produce tutorial videos on flying the aircraft and possibly on how to use the FMC, which supplement any information contained in the manual. I have done a quick search on YouTube by just using "Just Flight Tristar" as the broad search criteria and it has returned numerous videos and tutorials. Good luck. Cheers Andrew

Well, I guess that fits under Option 3...you just didn't mention you already owned Traffic 360, but I'll thank me for the advice anyway.
-
JG, As to your possible actions: un-hiding all will not work as the AI aircraft used are defined in the FSX AI traffic file and FSX will continue to look for them. un-hiding at least one will not work either for the exact same reason above. a 3rd party traffic add-on may not stop default FSX AI without some intervention, though Ultimate Traffic 2 does give you the ability to edit AI traffic including removing default FSX AI. exposing hidden AI to FSX's AI generation process can only be done by editing the AI traffic files. you are lucky, but you need

Just Flight Release ONE-ELEVEN 300/400/500 FOR FSX & P3D
Andrew Godden replied to mutley's topic in News and Press Releases
I'm going to start this entry by saying, "This is another Aeroplane Heaven production!". Given my experience with previous Aeroplane Heaven productions, including reviews I have done, the lack of quality control in the finished product is not surprising. Certainly, there seems to be a problem with the Camera Views section of the panel.cfg files. Having said that though, I found using the Hat Switch very effective in working within the cockpit and using different zoom levels to adjust as necessary. However, this may be because I tend to use this mostly when I'm flying anyway. The gauges and swi -
Just Flight Release ONE-ELEVEN 300/400/500 FOR FSX & P3D
Andrew Godden replied to mutley's topic in News and Press Releases
Try searching YouTube for some cockpit videos of the 1-11. The sound I'm hearing is perfectly simulated for my flight simulator - there is a limit to realism when I sit at a PC looking at a 27 in monitor on a desk in the study in my house. Or maybe you could ask Just Flight...they will be at Cosford. -
No problems, Phil. This kind of advice is free...other advice I charge like a wounded bull for.
-
Phil, The first question is always, "Is money an object?". This will fundamentally drive your ultimate decision. Having said that, your PC is quite dated, with the Intel i5-760 being over 6 yrs old (it was released in July 2010) - a 2.8GHz CPU will barely cut it these days as far as flight simming goes. The 1GB graphics card will definitely struggle and anything AMD should be ditched anyway as NVidia graphics cards are superior, by far, for flight simming. So, in short, I personally suggest it's time to upgrade to a new PC. You may have your own

Frame Limiters and their problems - what do YOU do?
Andrew Godden replied to UKJim's topic in General
I have never encountered the mouse cursor induced frame rate drops. My frame rate is set at 31 fps in FSX only. I have found this to be the optimum for my hardware setup. -
Not at all. Just a simple statement of reality as far as software goes. Nearly every piece of software, be it simulator, game, or office / productivity related, I have ever used has suffered some sort of problem at some point. I'm sure someone with your background would acknowledge the existence of inherent flaws in any software product released. These flaws do not prevent the product from "running smoothly", but do cause problems from time to time - the simple statement of reality I make. I made no inference, connection or comparison between FSX and P3D. However, I do

Interesting!!! With the exception of a graphics card I had to replace 18 months ago, my hardware is over five years old and FSX is installed on a standard HDD. I don't use DX10 Scenery Fixer, but I do use a lot of "today's scenery". In all, my installation of FSX runs smoothly and with few problems. I bought DX10 Scenery Fixer, tried various configuration set-ups, and had only marginal improvements at best.....I ditched it! "Steve" isn't keeping it alive for me!
