I don't think So joe. Mostly I think it checks when you switch on, but you can switch to 'offline mode' and run whatever.

Well, from what I've seen so far, it's not to bad. Performance has improved (lots of reports about this) due the recompile of the source code using VS2013. The old multiplayer screen is nice to see again and the main sim feels just like it always has. Downside has been the lack of compatability between the steam edition and standard version for 'connect direct' multiplayer sessions. Users need the same versions to connect directly. Then there's the install issues, small though they are. If you install with fsx already installed, you'll get a nice seperate version with a fsx-se.cfg etc. if you

What can I say, other than, once again, I warned you. .

Wow, nice looking shots Rich.

As a side note to the efass flight planner, it's author is currently in hospital (and has been for awhile) so there's very little happening in terms of bug fixing. Certainly using it with x plane is a frustrating experience, with program disconnects and the odd x plane crash for the weather injection portion of the planner.

There were other stands!

Hi Chris, there are two presentations I'm aware of. The first is to do with x-plane and the occulus rift. The second is by Qualitywings and about thier upcoming B787. I think the first one starts at 11.30. Jess

Product Review FTX: EU EGPB Sumburgh Airport
Jess-b replied to mutley's topic in News and Press Releases
Great review Brian. On the subject of compatibility, or lack of, well from my point of view, it's all a bit mute. Orbx state their product only work with orbx regions. We can't mark them down for that. I can't complain that Sumburgh isn't compatable with X-plane. It's not designed for x plane, and Sumburgh isn't designed for a non orbx region. Orbx even warn you in advance that you can install it into fsx default, but the quality will be worse compared to FTX Scotland. For me, you review a product in isolation. That means I look at what the product was designed to do, not what I'd like it to -
FSWeekend 2014 - GLB Flight Products: Official Sponsors
Jess-b replied to glb flight products's topic in General
Typical, the year I'm not going, something like this turns up. Lol. Pity to as I would have loved a little look around your A320 bits. Oh well. Enjoy and congratulations. -
Fsuipc is an absolute must as far as I'm concerned. It's a great way of keeping multiple configurations for multiple aircraft. As for Brian's assertion I'm a wizz, well I'm not to sure, but I'm happy to write a quick guide, if that's ok with da boss. Best wishes, Jess Ps, JG, what's your muppet name please. I need it for.....um.......stuff.

Martyn, put me down for a look at the tristar professional please.

Damn, October is almost hurtling towards us. Can't wait. See you there Rich.

Hi Kevin, Man I know what it's like to have days like that. Sometimes, all you need is time away from things. When you come back things don't seem so bad. As for gmax, yeah it's a bitch. However, you can learn it. I started using sketchup back last October. It's great, very easy to use and makes 3D modelling a doddle. Then I thought I'd have a bash at gmax. It just about killed me, but I've pushed though and now I'm using 3ds max to model my first building. (3ds max is the big brother of gmax). If your stuck though, I recommend a vpfew you tube videos from a guy called Austin sass. He makes

Just to follow up on what the other guys have said, the two systems you've listed aren't really 'FSX' friendly. That said, from my own recent experience, it's not worth paying top dollar for a full on monster system if fsx is your main sim. In fact, the system Christopher lists is a great choice for fsx. If you plan to fly p3d or XPX then you can expect to push the graphics card and for XPX, the more system memory, the better. For fsx though, the intel i5 4690k is a great choice and much cheaper than the i7 whist the performance is the same (fsx doesn't use hyperthreading so the i7 is wasted.

Resolved Leg 71 - Multiplayer event
Jess-b replied to stu7708's topic in Challenge Control Centre (CCC)
Sadly guys, my plans have changed unexpectedly, so I'm out I'm afraid. -
I have to agree with John and Mickie, I'm not sure I like this post at all. Whist it's true that Abacus no longer offer the same top quality stuff they did in the past, creating this thread to rubbish the whole company is a bit off. The language you've used is a bit rough ("look at the lies") and in truth this just looks like a full on attack for no reason. As others have said, abacus still offer a few good products and I'd go so far as to say that for the kind of simmer who just wants to have a basic to medium level aircraft that doesn't have a huge study manual to read before you can get th

Where's X-Plane?

My head hurts, and the room is spinning. That's how I felt waking up for my flight. It wasn't a hangover either. That I was sure of. Following on from our 'interesting' arrival into Male, Joe and I tried to relax with a quiet meal, discussing Brian's ever increasing expenses bill. (Four bottles of duty free whiskey in first class on the way home was pushing it.) We enjoyed our meal and although we shared a bottle of wine, neither one of us was feeling that tipsy as we headed to our hotel rooms. So i couldn't understand why I felt so ill. I ordered a pot of coffee from room service and I dragge

Congratulations on a brilliant pirep boss. I've never laughed so much in my life. Sharks with frickin' laser beams. Love 'em. However, given our 'guest', I've taken certain, precautions for my leg. Hmmmm......

Thanks guys, Joe, I'm afraid my next choice of aircraft may be a bit pricey. I'm thinking of calling this ATWC 'beg , steal or borrow'

Brian, I found a little freeware over at flightsim.com. John, yeah, the old ones are the best.
